    Off all the stories I’ve heard about the 90210 cast, I think Carol Potter is offering the kindest, most sensible perspective of anyone. No one ever talks about the pressure of being a young woman on such a hugely popular show.

    I don't know what many people think but Jim & Cindy Walsh to me where America's best parents. Both Carol Potter and James Eckhouse were very good actors as parents. I felt they were natural as natural can be. To be honest they remind me of my parents. Cindy has that very warm and friendly hospitable nature and Jim Walsh was that serious yet loving father who instilled good values in his kids. It's very important in life to have a close knit family unit. You're lost without it.

    • @brunobruno8524
      @brunobruno8524 9 місяців тому +1

      Jim was more interested in his children than Cyndy, I don't find it normal that Brenda's mother encouraged Brenda to continue being friends with Kelly, Brenda tells her that she doesn't want to celebrate Kelly's birthday at her house, and her mother replies that she doesn't see a problem with Kelly celebrating her birthday at her daughter's house, after Kelly betrayed her, even Jacki explained to her daughter that for Brenda the situation was very hard for her and that we also had to put ourselves in his place, when Brenda was distraught after Dylan left him for Kelly, it was his father who consoled him and Dylan's mother helped him get better, When Brandon had problems following his gaming addictions it was nat who helped Brandon, and brandon had confided in his father about his gaming addictions and not his mother, he confided in his father when he had an affair with a university professor, a university journalist comes to Brandon's house to blackmail him, she sees that her son is not happy to see this journalist and yet she offers him a coffee. When Jim is in conflict with Dylan and Brenda, because he finds that Dylan and Brenda want to live too much like an adult couple except that they are only 17 years old, she lets her husband handle the problem and in the end Jim was all time in conflict with his daughter, because he wanted to put limits on her.

    There would have been more back-and-forth in this q&a if the questioner had LOOKED AT THE EPISODES, studied them if you will; and been reminded of Carol's place in the show AND her limited participation and later, reduced screen time. ADJUST questions accordingly. Here, he's 'off the mark' with Carol too many times.
    "What do you recall about the (annual) Christmas or wrap party?" elicits unlimited anecdotes with the possibility of involving ALL the cast and / or cast that she didn't necessarily share screen time with, but who afforded great anecdotes. Some answers you keep in the podcast and some you edit out, based on their impact and relevance. "Were you 'on the fence' when the network announced the show's pick-up for the next season that you were guaranteed the same number of episodes?" . . . "Who did you learn wasn't coming back and who was joining the ensemble -- and your reaction?"
    "Who did you 'take under your wing', if anybody?" "How much did (producer) Aaron Spelling know early in the run the drama behind the scenes? And WHAT could he have done about it?" "Was he really THAT 'hands-on'?" "If not, who; and were 'they' any good -- or, out of their league?"
    The questioner has gone to the effort and trouble AND had the good fortune to have access to the talent, in this instance, Carol Potter. SO, be prepared; make the most of it; DO NOT bore your subject / guest; and don't be so in love with your prepared questions that you don't LISTEN -- which perchance affords the opportunity to go into a more revealing area, one that definitely interests the fans.

    Let's be real, you know why the media highlights the conflict between women more? Because most men that don't like each other can be more live and let live. We don't like each other, and we will never be friends but we can work together and not make our lives miserable. The truth is that many women can't do that and even like the drama.

    I remember a tabloid story about Shannen washing her hair with Evian bottled water. I've done background acting and been inside hair and makeup trailers. They generally don't have salon hair sinks. Evian water now comes in aerosol form to spray on hair. In the 1990s what did they use? Bottled water. If it was Evian, so be it. It's not THAT expensive.

    • @heathergraham2581
      @heathergraham2581 Рік тому +10

      Charmed had nothing to do with 90210. It's well known that Alyssa even had conflict with Rose on the Charmed set after Shannen left, so is it fair to say Shannen 100% had to be the problem? They both very likely had their moments, it happens, people don't always get along. Holly was pissed that Shannen had to leave, supported her, and wanted to quit the show herself because of what happened; but couldn't, she was under contract. Brian Krause did an interview a few years back saying Shannen wasn't eveb really the problem; it was some powerful Hollywood men and their egos. Holly's answers have come straight from the horse's mouth at different times when asked at Cons. It honestly looks like the rumors|gossip surrounding 90210 got used to screw Shannen over in the spotlight with Charmed. Even Alyssa herself recently came forward and admitted to her strong part in what happened with Shannen and regrets it . Said she felt in competition, Carol highlighted that very problem here with women programmed to be in competition with one another; so can we stop with the constant rumors that Shannen was a troublemaker everywhere she went? The truth is we really know nothing except what we hear; none of us were there. I never trusted media reports to know the whole story nor to relay it accurately anyway.
