      @@Sketchkustomz Appreciate the support. Maybe some day we can meet up and ride. I plan on getting my trailer soon so that I can travel 🧳 and ride in different states with different groups.

    Good, straight-forward video on the install and was a bonus to see how easy it is to change out the position of the brake rod. And your trike has a really nice look to it!

      Thank you. Much appreciated. I try to offer help to others making videos like this because there is nothing else out there. In speaking with other Spyder owners, we are all looking to do modifications, but are afraid to mess things up lol.

      @@Sketchkustomz ha ha ha, point taken! I appreciate those of you who boldly step out there and more importantly share your information/knowledge for all to make it easier for the rest of us. I am still in process for getting mine (couldn't do anything as I'm buying a new home, but wrapping that up now!) It gets me excited and helps me think thru what I want to do and want to avoid doing based on videos like yours that shows where things are pretty straight forward for a Do-it-yourselfer. So again for that, I thank you sir!

      @@Sketchkustomz brother you aren’t lying, I’ve been trying to figure out how to change the foot pegs since I got it in May. I’m 6’2 and it was definitely a little uncomfortable but I made it work for this season lol. What tools you using to move the pegs?

    Really good vid. I'm subbing. Simple ideas to improve your ride. I especially enjoy the "real world moment" ("I don't know where this thing came from")! LOL I have had so many of those over the years...

    • @Sketchkustomz
      @Sketchkustomz  3 роки тому

      Yea. It’s all trial and error lol. And very expensive. I’ve probably got at least $500 worth of extra things that didn’t work or fit lol. Thank for the sub.

      @@Sketchkustomz Here's one to watch out for... I just ordered a pair of DRL/Fog lights (name withheld until I hear back from them). They arrive, and I'm looking at the parts they sent. Missing 2 mounting bolts and one pair of mount screws for one light. Ok. Not too bad. I'll work around it. I have a Fastenal account. Then I take the front of the bike apart and get started. I take the light that has the mount screws and attempt to remove them (for some reason these are previously installed). Feels like they were installed with an air hammer! I wind up using slip joints and a modified screwdriver head to get them to turn. I get one out and it appears to be entirely cross-threaded... Waiting for a reply from the supplier; I'll let you know how it turns out, but this is my FIRST mod to my FIRST can-am. So far, I'm not impressed.

    That's a bad trade-off, IMO. You sacrificed position (comfort) and safety for appearance. Be safe bro. Go back to the stock rod for 5th position and you might be ok. Peace. 👍

    • @Sketchkustomz
      @Sketchkustomz  Рік тому

      Hey, thanks for the comment. But it was not a trade off for comfort or appearance. I wear size 14 shoe. The stock foot pegs were killing my feet when I rode. I am way more comfortable with the flat boards. I’m 6”4’ so it didn’t hurt my ride as if I were shorter.

      @@Sketchkustomz When I saw that brake pedal touching that floorboard I was thinking "ok, trim the floorboard or take that brake pedal off and either modify it or get/make a different one." It did look a bit skitchy. As long as you have comfortable brake pressure on the pedal and you don't feel your foot contact that floorboard you should be fine.

  • @spyderlyf3

    If you wanted the position 5 without the height issue you should use the stock position bar. Lamonsters bar drops the brake pedal height..Looks good though..

      @@Sketchkustomz Kenny is asking about the mount angle of the floorboards. I think the short answer is 'no', since they bolt directly to the cradle that can hold either a peg or a floorboard. However, that doesn't mean that you can't make a wedge to change that angle and get a longer bolt t go through the floorboard, wedge, and cradle. Having been on 2-wheelers for 50 years, you need to be really sure about that angle if you change it. Changing how your feet rest on the floorboards (to some degree) will dictate how your body position holds on the bike. If it's not "just right" you'll get cramps in your feet and legs or, worse, your back, on longer rides (>20 minutes). My touring bikes can alter the floorboard angle because it mounts to a rail and it has taken me upwards of an hour of playing with them to get them right on my bikes.

    You gained nothing by going back to number four location with your peddles. If you would have put your bolts in and tightened them down you would see the height of the brake pedal is the same in number four and five. To get more clearance I am making my number 3 brake rod adjustable so I can set my pedal at the position I want it at.
