I’m a bit confused about how he is complaining that he had to redact clearly very offensive jokes but then has an issue with a hillsborough joke . You either think it’s all fair game or it isn’t.

He isn’t “complaining about double standard” - he’s portraying his own. He declares that it’s okay for him to suggest crass ‘jokes’ about dead kids, but Hillsborough is apparently sacrosanct. If you’re making jokes about dead kids, you’re not remotely funny.
I don’t think he’d have had as much of an issue with it if his had been approved. He wrote his joke himself and it was turned down by producers, the same producers who had allowed a Hillsborough joke to be written and approved it. The double standard is the producers picking and choosing what’s appropriate by what’s convenient for them (i.e. the backlash won’t be as big for Hillsborough).
He didn't say Hillsborough wasn't fair game, he said that it was ridiculous that a joke about the moors murders was considered too bad but a joke about Hillsborough was fine because the lawyers didn't think Hillsborough would have a big backlash, as if 96 dead, including 38 victims aged 10-19 is less serious than 5 murdered kids
Context is key here. Without knowing how Hillsborough was, in Adams words, "referenced" we don't know whether it was as unacceptable as the Moors joke. To me it partially sounds like they rejected the Moors joke cause it just wasn't funny? There was no build or fake out to the joke he just described what a dead kid would look like?
He blatantly said the problem was the lawyers had issues with the potential backlash of the Moors joke vs Hillsborough joke.

No jokes are unacceptable, that’s the problem in todays world . People have forgotten that a joke is merely that and nothing else . You don’t need context you need a single briancell to work out that it’s a bloody joke , your feelings or anyones of that matter are not important whatsoever
Described what a dead kid would look like? Well yeah that’s the point, it’s a roast battle.
They didnt reject the joke they changed it to not offend. But kept the other as is

I feel that the people commenting negatively here about Adam are only doing so because he's from Liverpool. Nothing he said here was hypocritical or crass. I'm not from Liverpool, not anywhere close but its quite obvious there's a huge anti scouser sentiment in these comments ( I know the stereotypes people but this kind of flac with no justification is rediculous).

It’s unfortunate what comedy has come to. The Jimmy Carr situation reflects that. I’m all for being politically correct. I consider myself very left wing and PC. But there’s nothing wrong with a bit of dark humour at times. If you don’t like ‘edgy’ comedians, then don’t watch them, simple as that.

You know whats weird about the Jimmy Carr situation. The man tells people before hand that he tells offensive jokes. These people ignored that and hen complained he told an offensive joke. Its like throwing yourself into the ocean and then complaining that you got wet.

It’s not hypocritical to say “either anything goes, or it doesn’t and that’s wrong”
Adam knows that all jokes are fair game, but some jokes aren’t worth ruining an entire career over, and he felt like being told he couldn’t go x far, but maisey would have been dragged through the papers in Liverpool for ages by an army of still angry, passionate scousers, was not okay.
He didn’t just want to make a joke about dead kids, he’s saying that both jokes would cause some level of public outrage, and it’s fitting that the scousers being mad wouldn’t have mattered to the execs protecting the ears of those parents and family of the kids.
He's not the most likeable of people is he

Notice how he had two gripes with that joke: The fact that he knew the audience would disagree with it, and the fact that the lawyer's double-standards in offering it when saying his own was too offensive clearly proved they didn't have a clue about what they were even doing. At no point did he say he was offended by the joke itself.

I remember when I used to watch mock the week and Frankie Boyle would say what he wanted and it was really funny. Him as well as other comedians wouldn’t care about the backlash from their jokes. Your missing the point. Adam wasn’t just thinking about how the joke would come across but how that joke could potentially ruin her career. Liverpool has one of the best comedy followings in the UK. She would never of been able to gig in Liverpool again if she has made that joke.

First of all a roast battle never goes too far and if you think it does then don't be in it! A roast is a roast and you turn it up a notch and if the guy you're roasting can't handle it don't accept the roast come on it is not rocket science a roast is a roast and never hold back on a roast ever ever and if you cry like a little b**** then you should get roasted even harder
I typically go out of my way to knock a scouser, and I WISH this video included him being a hypocrite and saying things that the high IQ society of the comments section are suggesting, just so I could join in with the outrage... but he hasn't been hypocritical and isn't saying any of those things. Nah jokes are jokes, i.e not to be taken seriously; how "offensive" it is depends on how seriously individuals take it, which normally comes down to how personally or emotionally invested they are in the subject. Generally when it comes to dark humour, much like food in Africa not everyone gets it.
Sure Hillsborough was a tragedy, but so was the Holocaust on a *much* larger scale and enough jokes are still made about that and no one really bats an eye. Don't get me wrong, Hillsborough was definitely tragic in its own right, but there's no reason it should get special treatment as 'no joke territory' - either everything is fair game to joke about, or nothing is. And if we subscribe to the latter, we start down a slippery slope where eventually nothing is okay to say, ever, about anything because some snowflake will get offended by it.

Well being told "no dead kid jokes" by the team is one thing to be told the other comedian has been given jokes by the team and one references a tragedy where there was dead children.....that's where he was pointing. He was in a way helping maisie maintain a gig in Liverpool without severe backlash.
