In Sweden we were lucky in the 70s since we had the radio producer Mr Alinge who used to play Skyhooks songs. Otherwise they would still be unknown for me and the others.
australia produced some great performers in the seventies and i was a teenager then, good stuff. still remember the free concerts in brisbane in those days when bands like skyhooks and air supply and singers like marcia hines were just starting out and sang for you for free. and if you were lucky you snuck around the back and got to meet them in the flesh. good times then. dan.
Ahhh memories...I was at this concert as a 10 year old. It was my first ever live rock concert and it was an amazing experience. I was in the dress circle up the back and with everyone up and dancing, the floor was shaking so much I thought it was going to collapse. I also remember a giant prop telephone coming out at one stage for a song or two. I think it might have been "Balwyn calling". I also remember that directly after this concert, Skyhooks embarked on their first US Tour.
All married men should listen to the words very very carefully before saying I do. Let's face it. The probability of the marriage working is not that good. Don't say I'm different.

I saw them at the sundown pub when I was 10. Dunno how my parents got me in. Ego the album. The pic of the finger. The songs. Melbourne in the 70s. 😊
One of the best sing a long Aussie tunes of the 70s.
It might be a sing-along, but if you listen to the lyrics, it's actually a pretty sad song.

Shirls neighbourhood, with Claude the crow.
Weird Shirl was still in his early twenties when they released this. He married shortly after.
It wasn't Shirl who wrote this, it was Greg Macainsh.
Shit. That was alright. Thought it would be a bit cheesy, but no good mid 70's Aussie rock.
