- Interdiction to seize the bank accounts, to penetrate their residences, to open the luggage, to worry any member of the personnel of an embassy and even of his family. The diplomatic immunity was established by the Convention of Vienna, in 1961, to protect the diplomats from threats, bad manners of the authorities of the host country, etc. With practice, it became a quite practical umbrella for certain diplomats in delicacy with the law. We inquired into these cases of diplomats out-the law. Because some victims rebel against the diplomatic immunity. Associations try to obtain that diplomats can be judged as anyone else. -

Very interesting indeed. As long as your a Diplomat pass go and get your own Get out of Jail Free Card. I thought this only happened in Monopoly.
The longer a monopoly game goes on, the more one wants to get into jail.
That Zaire dude is one dodgy fella innit lolol
I haven't seen any European diplomats on this doc, I am only 3/4s the way through tho
An American diplomat shot 2 unarmed guys on a traffic signal and he got away by giving money
Biased.
@@Resolute-lead5 ur talking about Raymond Davis, he wasnt really a diplomat but the US Government covered it up with Pakistan cuz he was a spy.
Why would anyone mistreat someone that handles their food and clothing… not that I would know but I’d be obligated to treat these people better than my own family members
Trial by gunshot?
But they are state representatives and fining them is like fining a state which is void
There’s a thin line between being an honorable diplomat and a thug
This is a 2005 Documentary.
Damn it why was I not diplomatic
wow I want to be a diplomat when I grow up; park anywhere without getting a ticket, refuse to pay employees, overspeeding, shoplifting without any trouble, drunk driving...
Idiot, the host country could tell you to leave.
@@WilliamOunj-ge8th , Great, I can escape to other country and repeat the crime again
i would be wife of ambassador
Don’t abuse your D.I… unless you really need to. Until then be civilized when your a guest in someone’s country
There needs to be a new convention and rules change so people are not put into slavery/trafficking
The Saudi ( and Egypt) military regimes , such tight pals with Nato countries , yet Assad *has* to go .....
IMMUNITY = POWER $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Why don’t you investigate the actions of European diplomats in non-EU countries? Foh! 😏
Laws have changed. In most cases lower level embassy/consular officials and certain family members are no longer afforded the cloak of diplomatic immunity for criminal behaviour.
Thats bullshit me myself i Am a outlaw diplomat ..one word fuck the currupt system and the law
2:30 to put pressure on their oppressor you mean
How about don’t let them drive? When they need to go somewhere, provide them a chauffeur?
As for employees of the diplomats, the salaries should be negotiated with the local government; then the diplomats pay the local government in advance for each year. The local government will take care of the employees’ salaries.
Public transit is cheap and abundant.
What's a diplomate?
benjamin mcfarlane a friend of a diplomat. Haha😁

I'm pretty sure just the Australians have diplomates.
@@stickpicks1every country in the world has diplomats lol

Being a student of International relations & Diplomacy I'm excited on these immunities
this immunitys are for protection and not for private benefits.... i have never abused them and i lived 5 years in NYC! i don´t want to be a shame for my country and the loose of the good imagine is that what we can loose for bad behavior!
@@maximilianmaurer1609its good you are speaking for yourself but no one asked. Thanks
I am currious about the case of the child of the Chad diplomat in France. Did the child stay in France or he went back to Chad? Since his immunity is waived how could he survive
he went back to his homecountrie like everyone else who did sth bad!
If Victorine's experience is considered to be abuse-Then that means every single house maid/house girl that works in an african home in africa is being abused because they work longer hours than victorine. They get up at 4am,prepp the children for school, clean the house, cook, tend to the garden, and when there is a family gathering or party, they cook, serve and clean up after the party is over. This is a daily routine 7 days a week. The only days they get to rest are December during the Xmas and New Year season-They get 2 weeks off to visit family and rest.
Yes, that's abusive af.
Why can't diplomats live in their own country and talk to the other diplomats on the phone or zoom? Embassies only used to cover for spying.
I think one reason to have embassies are for foreign nationals/tourists visiting a country
On some level countries accept that we’re all spying on each other and typically trust the abilities of their own spy agencies over that of others lol.
They should at least be held accountable for parking/road rules.
