- How to remove the front bumper and headlights on the Volvo XC90 MK1 2002-2014
This is one of the easiest cars you will ever do this job on. There are 8 fixings total holding the headlamp assemblies and bumper on.
I hope this video helps and please subscribe!
Great video! Short, spot on, calm camera movements. I'm so tired of tubers talking 30 min before they get to the point. Keep up the good work! Thanks!
Thanks Jesper, years ago thats exactly what I thought about people making how to vids talking for ages instead of getting on with the job. I’ve had to add some intros for my more recent vids as it’s part of advancing my channel but hopefully I’ll remember to keep them short! Thanks for the feedback, it’s appreciated!
About to take my wife's off to get inside the engine bay better for a coolant leak and this is exactly what I needed unlike other videos with unnecessary information, I see comments from 2 yrs ago but this is still relevant today I appreciate it 🤙
I'm glad you learned how to disconnect the headlights using the red connector, instead of disconnecting each individual bulb like you did in your other XC90 video
I almost gave up taking the bumper off my XC90 until I found this video, thank you for sharing this. Much appreciated, you now have another new subscriber to your club 👍🙏🏻👍🙏🏻👍
Good quality footage and no nonsense, just the stuff I wanted to know, well done Tolly, thanks.
Thank you kindly, glad to help!
Perfect video. Thank you. (The last one I watched had me drilling out rivets in the wheel arch!)
well that looked pretty easy. I actually need to swap the headlight washer out. Thanks for the video.
Thank you bro for helping me take my bumper off to replace my Ac condenser.. Appreciate your videos and knowledge 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
You’re very welcome, I even have a video on here changing my condenser! Thanks for the comment 🙏
Bro this video helped me out big time. That was literally the easiest design I've ever seen, I always thought it would be so compact, can't wait to do this on my own XC90!
Thanks for the comment, good luck!
@@IAMASPANNER should be easier than the alternator
@@GodzilarOG7337 definitely!
Very helpful. Thank you.
Short and no nonsense
Glad to help!
Great video! I have got to replace my passenger side fog lamp assembly. This video was helpful and concise. Thank you
Thank you, I’m very glad to help!
Clear and concise. Top stuff.
Do you have any videos removing the drivers side front wing / lights?
👍🏻
Thank you! I only have the front light removal unfortunately, nothing for the wings.
Wow, that is so easy. I need to fit a replacement headlight washer which involves removing the front bumper. In fact, I might not need to do this as the washers look to be accessible once the headlights have been removed.
Precise and straightforward
Just what i was looking for. Thanks
Hi, great video, is this the same for the 2002-2006 & 2007-2014 models? Will the 2002-2006 front bumper fit on a 2007-2014 model?
Thanks
Yes, that is great simple video, well done
Thanks Tolly very helpful indeed like those pri tools your using can they be bought off the shelf? have you ever fitted retro front park sensors as i will be doing this on my impending 05 XC90 D5 purchase? p.s keep the XC90 vids coming they are a great help mate ;-)
The pry tools are high quality US made Bojo tools, they’re plentiful online but I’m not sure how many retailers stock them. I haven’t fitted front sensors, only ever retrofitted a towbar to my V70. If you’re using a genuine kit (assuming they have one) I’m sure it’ll be self explanatory but you’ll probably need diagnostic coding to turn them on.
@@IAMASPANNER thanks i did buy some off eblag but not US made needless to say they are chipping off the ends already as for sensors i think i will buy some aftermarket ones they seem to have pretty good reviews not paying Volvo silly prices. Anyway i had my XC90 delivered friday and am loving it but already got an alarm service light so i will be investigating the module for damage or battery failure i also intend to change all the filters and oils but noticed the transmission dipstic is broken off leaving just the stub bit you pull out :-0 all fun and games ;-)
I used the Ice-scraper supplied with my fridge/freezer...worked fine.
Just be aware to have a little patience....get a corner in...and work a bit slower.
Wow have to do this today! Hopefully wont break anything
Excellent guide for me
What's the little prybar that you used to disconnect the headlight wire?
Merci beaucoup e5 salutations du Québec
Great job 👍
Thanks
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video. I did find it somewhat difficult to hear you.
Can you do a video of how to replace the headlamp washer covers?
Hi, sorry the car is gone now but I hope you get sorted!
knoxflyer101.....I was puzzled by my headlamp washer covers...thought they were"blanks" that I did not even have lamp washers! (As per other makes.)
It was only when I took off the bumper as per this video, that I saw I did have them!...never seen them operate. (I'll have to get the wife involved I guess.)
Then, there is always..... RTM!
But I too am a bit mystified as to how they work....
They "lift" with the water pressure I presume? We live and learn.
nice
Gracias
Con gusto!
This job proves the old saying:
If you are struggling to do a job on a Volvo........
You Are Doing It Wrong.
Not every job is so easy but this is a good car to work on indeed!
Great Video 👍
Thank you!👍
great video! thank you
