  • We just received a brand new light from NiteRider that is completely different from what they have offered before. While it utilizes some of the same technology as models from the past, it is a clean, elegant solution in a well designed package. It outputs 1800 lumens and is fully charged in only 3 hours!
    At 258 grams, I plan to only use this light on my handlebars since my neck is pretty sensitive to any extra weight on my helmet, but it is awesome that NiteRider made this light compatible with all their earlier quick release mounts for both helmets and handlebars! We have quite a few around our house these days!
    The way the light is thrown from this light is truly awesome. It comes out as a horizontal bar of flood light. PERFECT for running on the handlebars!

    I bought this light last winter, and I moved and my AC adapters got all jumbled about. I used this video to confirm what the specs of the adapter are and find the right adapter, thank you very much!! The manual and the NiteRider web site don't list the specs at all, so this video totally saved my bacon.

    Great lights, I have 2 different Lumina models. The only issue like many lights in this category is the mounting sytem. I find on a mtb and rough roads the light starts to shift down. Especially this larger unit, the weight would overwhelm the clamping system. I've had several types of Lumina mounts (newer and older rubber mounts) and none would hold the light steady.

      The new mounts no longer depend solely on stretching a rubber piece around the bars. They now have a clamp style system thats much better.

    I have the 800 but added the cygolite ranger 1400 since u only get 75 min at 1500. The ranger 1400 has 900 mid versus night rider only has 700. Cygolite telescopic mount soothe dual phase with 1 led works best and the cygolite doesn’t get hot whereas this gets 300 degres

    Nice light. It's got an impressive charge time.

      I agree! Cant wait to test the end of its run time out on a super long night ride. 😃👍

    Looks nice, a little bulky but understandable for the power it has.

      It is a little bigger and heavier than I would prefer for the helmet, but not bad for the bars. What light are you running currently Chris?

      Hi Craig!
      Will do a side by side with my Lumina 1100 Boost this week and put it up on the channel. Make sure you’ve clicked the bell next to the Subscribe button so you don’t miss the notification when I post up the video of it at night. Which light are you currently running? Any particular details you would like me to cover? Off road POV action cam riding footage?

    I love the Niteriders, but I'm avoiding this 1800 simply because of the barrel plug charger.

    • @RideAlongside
      @RideAlongside  2 роки тому +2

      I can understand that! It does help it to charge much faster however

      @@RideAlongside I get that for sure. I just have sooooo many micro USB cords it's insane. We don't typically "need" a fast charge but I do understand. We have 2 850's and 2 900's. I'm in the market for 2 more lights that's how I found your video. Thx for the review

    If you're looking to save on weight on the 1200, go with the non OLED display which is about 146 grams over the 172 grams OLED.

    B7t get the sentinel250 tail not the solas. For 14 extra u get 250 lumen 10 foot lasers that really helps drivers see ny potential pathcrossing

    How much brighter this light comparing to the 1200 Boost? Looks very sturdy and tidy though.

      Steven Nguyen it doesn’t seem a ton brighter to be honest. Above 1000lmn, I have a hard time telling any discernible difference while on the trail to be honest. The run time and charge time however are definitely better.

      @@RideAlongside The dual LEDs probably be putting out wider beam on the road/trail verses a single one. The decrease in charging time and increase in running time definitely would be bonuses. Great choice of lighting!

    once I saw the adapter I knew I wasn't going to buy it. proprietary charger is the past

    • @RideAlongside
      @RideAlongside  3 роки тому +1

      It’s actually very similar to lots of other chargers I have like this for various electronics. Not proprietary at all, but a USB-C would be more appropriate for today’s electronics probably. Thanks for the comment!
