Well done you! took me just about 11 months of trying to do my first chin up and it happened only three weeks ago! two days later I did it with a straight body, now a few weeks later I can almost do two and a half of them. it was and is an amazing day when one hauled his body up above the bar! limits do not exist!!
I have been doing calisthenics for as long as you have and it was genuinely the best decision I ever made. Now I also like to run and I am in my best physical condition. Your videos and your story are very inspiring to keep improving and learning!
Well, I am male and 56 and this (your beginning) is exactly where I am. I am not unfit, I can squat my bodyweight, deadlift 1,3xBW - but I never managed to do pull/chin-ups. And of all the pull-up for beginners videos, this is the most inspirational ever. Now I restart with the 5 years window 😊 Thank you 🙏
If you use elastics as progression tools I'm relatively confident 1 year is enough to get you to at least 5 chin up reps 👍 I'm a bit younger at 30, 5.11 and 195lbs but even after years of basically zero physical activity I can do 10-15 chin ups (with no added chains/weight), so I think it'll come back to tou quickly once you strengthen your core and posture while doing them It's not just isolated muscles, form and technique are realy important to not waste energy and/or hurt yourself
As a woman who can’t do a pull up and just barely a push up, this gives me hope. I hate that I can’t do it, I know I shouldn’t find it embarrassing but I feel inspired by you. I can do it, just takes time and to let go of my ego.
Me also. I’ve got a pull up bar on my doorframe. Three weeks ago I couldn’t even hang. It was so bad. Now I can hang in for 50 seconds. It’s still poor but it’s progress. I can’t imagine ever being able to pull up but that is the goal.
I love your videos and just now started calisthenics myself. Thank you for inspiring people to be their best selfs but also reminding me that I won't reach my goals within a few weeks!
Thank you so much for posting this Lucy! You're absolutely incredible!Very very inspirational and I'm so hyped to continue to try to make it to my first pull up goal! After that, I plan on learning muscle ups 💪😄
Planning to start my journey this month, your journey has been inspiring and your advice is always really motivational. Also love how you're smiling through most of the clips, exercising should be fun not a chore! 👏
Immense strength (*long lasting ones) takes time and definitely remembering those 5years timeline and taking inspiration to keep going ❤ Thankyou, god bless
This is so good for me to see, I made it my new year's resolution to get my first pull up... back in 2021. I was starting from 0, didn't do any upper body workout. I eventually gave up, even though I know I was making progress, because of life stuff, but also because I felt demotivated. I've made it my resolution again!
Lovely. This is so inspiring. I have started doing pullups since start of this year and I can only do like 2. This reminds me that it will take time but it will be worth it.
I feel like that would deplete me of energy I need elsewhere. But I like your mentioning of the 5 years. And that it was about succeeding at something and not about how much more muscular you look or even feel now
I still the years ago when i did my first chin up. That feeling and view above the bar was something else for me. Great video, i really nice to see how far you have come.
So encouraging!! I started my journey to learn push ups today. It didn't go so great, but I started, and that's what matters. I need to record my progress, I think!!
This is definitely a good reminder that results don’t happen overnight. I have been training pull-ups for a couple of months now and I can do about 3 pull-ups in a row and I haven’t been able to increase that for a while, but it will happen for sure.
Anyone that struggling with pull ups, may want to work on their grip strength first. Most adults aren’t really used to hanging anymore because you only do it when you’re a kid for the most part. Learning how to hang again is important if you’re really struggling. I had to work on grip strength and proper hanging form before I really was able to get a pull up. There’s some really good videos that talk about scapula pull ups also. these really help you learn how to engage all the proper muscles to start a pull up. Hope this helps somebody.
I think the 5 year time lapse is what people need to remember. Time + consistency and you'll see progress. Well done, you've come so far 💪
But you didnt train 5years straight did you?
Anyways great job
definitely... people on here looking for 5 weeks, 5 days, 5 hour transformations... this girl literally did not give up for 5 whole years
Me who did tht on first try😂
@@sanemishinazugawa4773 having more testosterone makes building muscle easier, your not impressive

11 months?it took me two weeks to do my first one,but I gues it depends on your body
@@Alex25. Of the two of you, what he did is more impressive, since he was willing to work so long towards his goals.

When I look at how much weight she lost and the kind of person she became for her own good, inspires me a hella lot
May god bless her
I just did my first real chin-up last night. You were one of my biggest inspirations. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, Lucy 🩵
Omg yessss well done, that’s amazing!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You can do this sir. When I started I couldn't even pull myself up by an inch but after 3 weeks can bust about 4 pull ups you can do this sir!
U can do this bro...... Never too late to make it

You don't need 5 years as a man. Y'all have more musculature in your upper body and don't tend to accumulate fat in your legs and butt, either.
Couldn't do even one proper chin ups or pull ups. Until I learned to use my back and lats.
this is so great. i just started calisthenics and my arms feel like spaghetti after doing wall push ups lol
you're not alone! haha keep going !! :)
That's where we all started
Respect for putting in the work girl
MAN! I just love and admire a strong Woman! She made IT! Through discipline, and fortitude, She accomplished a very difficult Goal.
I’m currently on my pull-up journey. Thanks for inspiring me 🥰
man thank you so much, i wanted to get into calisthenics but i feel so demotivated at times, you’re really and inspiration

You'll probably find that a push up much easier than a pull up.

I LOVE callisthenics. It's not just the physical benefits but psychologically it really connects you to your body.

i really appdeciate the realistic goals of this video. thank you! ❤
Ahhhhhhhh yes queen!!!!!!!
That second clip is how I feel most days in the gym when working on pull ups
you're incredible. this is inspiring.
The first real transformation i have ever seen on YT... very inspirational! Keep going!
The point is consistency. Worthwhile things take time and effort. I applaud your transformation and success!!
Any woman who can do a pull up is a queen in my book
seriously. a woman doing ONE pullup is the equivalent to a man doing 15 pullups.
I can do at least 4 lol wow

That clip of you slow descending rather than trying to force up is actually really helpful in gaining the strength to be able to do pull ups.
