Thank you very much for your help, very informative! I have just started working with apoy sculpt. I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and it is very rare to find from a local source. I have been mosaic making since 2013 and love it! It’s my passion and creative outlet also helps relax and focus my mind.
To drastically reduce the chance of bubbles getting into the resin as you transfer from a container with a nozzle as shown here, STORE IT UPSIDE DOWN. Lift and twist the nozzle without ever turning it upright. You'll be using resin from the 'bottom' of the container, which will have no bubbles in it or pockets of air to mix in and cause bubbles. This way, the only bubbles you will see will be the ones you might get from the beads etc. as the resin moves into the air spaces. Store the inverted resin bottle in another slightly larger cut down container to make a sleeve in case of any leakage. I've only had one leak (due to not tightening the nozzle properly, duh), and I wiped it up with alcohol on a cloth pad, job done. Try it.
THANK YOU so much for your tutorial on this project, my first art form was clay and I've been wanting to get back into it yet wasn't really inspired until now. Looking forward to watching other tutorials!
That is beautiful. I didn't know you had a channel and I just ordered 3 types of beads from Fire Mountain Gems for my Starry Night junk art project! ❤️ From West Virginia
Wonderful! We release a new video every Friday! We also go live on Facebook once a month. If you aren't following us on Facebook, do so you'll know when we go live!
can u please suggest some replacement for apoxy sculpt ? i am highly allergic towrds any type of epoxy. Can air dry clay be used in place of epoxy clay ?
Hello! I really loved this video but can I ask if I can use polymer clay instead of Apoxie and just bake the whole thing? or is there any alternatives for Apoxie?
Wow! Incredible! Your product has many exciting possibilities! I love epoxy and resins, as well as clays that must be baked or fired, but the permanence of your clay is what I am interested in. I am an art student, and my question is this - do you suppose that applying this onto a base of partially sculpted "Plasticine" would work? "Plasticine" does not harden ever, but do to it's texture and workability, I thought that I could get most of a likeness and cover and finish it with "Apoxie Sculpt". I see from other videos that "Apoxie Sculpt" may be sanded and drilled, however, I worry that facial and extremity details must be completed in such a rapid way that corrections are difficult. I will keep surfing videos and see if I can learn more. I will still be trying this very soon. Really great video, Lisa! Thank you, and warm regards.
Hi there. Thanks for watching our video. Hmmm, we aren't sure if that will work well as we haven't experimented with that type of technique. We're sorry. We just don't have an answer for you if it'll work with Plasticine.
Hi Lisa. I have been beading since I was in school but I have never done the epoxy or bezel mosaics. Can you give me list of some basic materials I would have to have. I have plenty of beads. Do you maybe have a starter kit? This looks like a lot of fun but you don’t know until you try if it’s for you so I’d like to start small. Thanks Trisha
Hi Patricia, we have everything you need to get started making mosaic pendants at Fire Mountain Gems. This link will take you to this video on our website and includes a Materials List: fmg.co/CAm2r5. Hopefully this will help give some direction on where to start :D
I was wondering where do i find or how do i search the type of deep bezel you showed in this video? i like that it is so deep. Also i live in Canada so I was wondering if it would be wise to wait until warmer temps to order apoxie sculpt and the magic gloss? Thank you
Hi there Tamara, we don't sell these pendants ready-made, we sell the products used to make them yourself. You'll find a list of some of the items used in the description above. The pendant and bezel settings are the main piece you'll need to start with.
If you're looking for blanks, try a search under "bezel setting" That'll give you all the earring options, as well as pendants and drops. (There are some fun shapes, like cosmic rings, skulls, etc.)
Apoxie Sculpt which is used in this video is an air-dry clay. When you've completed your project, allow the piece to air-dry and then you can apply Magic Glos resin should you decide to. I hope that helps.
I can't suscribe, or feed nice your channel, because your videos are too long, too boring while you are chatting. Please; make yourself a favor and go to the subject.
Hi there Patricia, some projects do tend to be longer. We have some other shorter tutorials available as well though. Hope you find something you enjoy!
I disagree with that comment. If a person wants to learn they need the information. If one is looking for flash and dash, move on. This tutorial was interesting and informative and not too long or chatty.
There's a whole wealth of information in all the chat. This is an incredibly generous share of her experience and know-how. 59,000 other people have subscribed, are appreciating and enjoying a wonderful informative style of teaching. l'm sure you can find some other teacher that suits you.
Seeing you for the first time and an really impressed 😍

It does clear out the stragglers!

Love the video - I'm going to try this soon. BTW: Where did you get those wonderful storage cabinets I see behind you?
We purchased those so long ago.... nobody remembers where we got them :O

Is this project as expensive as it looks? Great tutorial!
Thanks so much! The cost could vary pretty greatly depending on the type and amount of beads or other tidbits you put in the clay.
Hermoso beautiful 😄😃😀😊☺😉👍🍀
*MAGNIGIQUE 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽🙌🏽😉*
link for Magic Glos says it is no longer available. Is there a similar product? Thank you!
Hi there. We do! Here's a link bit.ly/3TlzH8e

Hi, what type of disposable gloves is recommended for using with the epoxy clay? Thanks :)
Great question. Vinyl or rubber gloves would both work well: fmg.co/7EQnCd
Very nice
Thanks, we always enjoy getting positive comments.
Can you use alcohol to pop the bubbles as well?
We would not recommend it. Rubbing alcohol tends to dissolve the resin.
@@FireMountainGems Thank you!!!!!

Hi Sherry. The link to the bezels are in the description of this video. But here's a link to the bezel used in this video: fmg.co/7LsuTX
If i can use this with using any clay
You could, but always follow the clay instructions for curing.
You said you could also use polymer clay on tin, will the apoxy clay fire in oven as well?
Apoxie is an air-dry clay and isn't meant to be fired.
Where do you get that ready made clay glue?
Hi Sally. Here's a link to the Apoxie Sculpt clay: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/apoxie-creative_clays_technique
Like this beautiful
i cant find those pendants on your website..what are they called?
Hi there Tamara, we don't sell these pendants ready-made, we sell the products used to make them yourself. You'll find a list of some of the items used in the description above. The pendant and bezel settings are the main piece you'll need to start with.
Fire Mountain Gems and Beads think she was meaning the blank pendants, couldn't find the blanks either
Hi, Tamara!
If you're looking for the big trapezoid pendant (as seen at 5.16), here it is: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h20a3480fn
If you're looking for blanks, try a search under "bezel setting"
That'll give you all the earring options, as well as pendants and drops. (There are some fun shapes, like cosmic rings, skulls, etc.)
how do you dry the polimery clay inside the baze?
Apoxie Sculpt which is used in this video is an air-dry clay. When you've completed your project, allow the piece to air-dry and then you can apply Magic Glos resin should you decide to. I hope that helps.
The manufacturer says that you could put mixed Apoxie in the freezer to retard the hardening
I love you so much 😍
But to much speaking 😔
