Thank you for this! I had cyclic left lung collapses and ended up with emergency surgery by thoracic surgeon and was told I had deposits on my diaphragm. The deposits were sent for a biopsy to be told not endo. 1 year later I still getting cyclic pain and it’s getting worse. It’s good to know that it can recur again and it’s not in my head! I’ve met Jess and Islam who removed my endometrioma.

    Hello,
I have struggled with endometriosis ascites - wondering if you guys can ever cover this part of endometriosis. I was a mystery case for 2yr until I researched and found the diagnosis myself. Every cyclic episode when I was accumulate blood in my visceral lining, the symptoms would be (acid reflex, shoulder pain, radiating stomach pains, sob and back pain - to name a few). I am still struggling with finding the best treatment, but I continue my research for the providers have their hands tied. Thank you.

Really useful presentation. My initial thought is with hormonal treatment, will this just mask the symptoms (as with pelvic endometriosis) rather than try to prevent reoccurrence?

My thoughts exactly. The hormonal treatment never worked for me, and instead proved only to make things much worse.

At 22:12, it might be that 30% look at the diaphragm but they would only have a limited view. Most studies show that symptomatic diaphragmatic endometriosis usually occurs behind the liver (which can’t be seen during a pelvic laparoscopy).

Can this heal on its own?
Does it continue when you have gone through menopause?

At 11:31, there is a study mentioned. Do you have a link to this study?

At 25:15, will that reporting system separate the different types of TES? For example, diaphragmatic patients do not have the same symptoms as bronchial patients.

At 19:24, for the benefit of other viewers, the term ‘hepatobiliary’ refers to liver surgeons not bowel surgeons.
