First of all, let me confess! At 54 I am probably your oldest subscriber!!. This storytime had me in stitches. 2/3rd's in, I nearly choked on my own spit from laughing so hard. Tears were rolling down my face. Tolu, I can relate to your story. My parents took my brother and I back to Nigeria in the 80's. I wasn't a boarder, but I was teased because of my accent, dress sense and for having long hair. All the girls in my school had short hair. That was an experience. I'm glad you lived to tell the tale and are better for it. Thank you both. I had a rough and stressful day at work and this has just made me laugh so much. I feel so much lighter. These stories bring up so many memories for me. I was born in Nigeria and lived there for about 11 and half years. I went boarding school from 5years old to 11 years. I went to igbinedion education centre. The primary side it wasn't too bad until l got to jss1 equivalent to year 7 in the UK. I experienced year 7 for like 3months and left to go the UK. I was about 12 when l left

As someone who spent 6years in Boarding school, this made me laugh. It must have been jarring coming from the UK into boarding school environment.
Weirdly if I was still in Nigeria, I would have send my kid to boarding school. It really shaped me
