Roman Abramovich “poisoned” at peace talks with Ukraine - BBC News
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 бер 2022
- The Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators are reported to have suffered symptoms consistent with chemical poisoning during negotiations about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
It’s understood that Mr Abramovich was taking part in informal peace talks when he became ill, along with two Ukrainian negotiators. The symptoms are said to have included red eyes and peeling skin on the face and hands.
However a US official said intelligence suggested the cause was environmental and not deliberate poisoning. Presidential officials in Kyiv also sought to play down the claims.
Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by security correspondent Frank Gardner.

I know. America or Israel doing the business and trying to derail talks.
Where Putin goes (his men), poison follows. This doesn't shock me at all because he did this a few years ago. Prior to that, he did it in England. It took them over 18 months and 33,000 hours to clean everything and get the poison out. They burnt cars, knocked down buildings and buried the rubble and cars that they couldn't get the nerve agent (poison) off. One woman died and a police officer was paralyzed, but that was it. Russia bringing back that old school poison assassinations. Its quite effective to this day.
@Stevie Obie: Not in this case. Abramovich and the three Ukrainians are recovering from the poisoning.
Yes. I know that. I saw the video. In this case, the poison was only used to scare them. It was not meant to be fatal.
However, since 1990, there have been over two hundred journalists killed in Russia by poisoning. Those deliberately targeted for their work tended to be reporters, correspondents, and editors. In Russia, many directors of new regional TV and radio stations have been murdered.
Now, that's only including the successful assassinations of journalists, reporters, correspondents, and editors. There have been many more fatalities when you look at ex KGB defectors and political rivals and foreign threats. And there are at least twice as many failed assassination attempts to consider.
Most notably, look at Anna Politkovskaya's murder in Moscow on 7 October 2006.
Comparisons have been made to the alleged 2004 poisoning of Viktor Yushchenko, the alleged 2003 poisoning of Yuri Shchekochikhin and the fatal 1978 poisoning of the journalist Georgi Markov by the Bulgarian Committee for State Security. The incident with Litvinenko has also attracted comparisons to the poisoning by radioactive (unconfirmed) thallium of KGB defector Nikolay Khokhlov and journalist Shchekochikhin of Novaya Gazeta (the Novaya Gazeta interview with the former, coincidentally, prepared by Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was later found shot to death in her apartment building).
Also, in 2006, look at the Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, a former KGB defector targeted by poisoning after he fled to the UK.
As for political assassinations, Look at this:
KGB defector and British agent Oleg Gordievsky believes the murders of Yandarbiev, Yushenkov, Shchekochikhin, Tsepov, Politkovskaya and the incident with Litvinenko show that the FSB (Russian secret service which existed before the KGB) has returned to the practice of political assassinations, which were conducted in the past by Thirteenth Department of the KGB. A comparison was also made with Roman Tsepov, who was responsible for the personal security of Anatoly Sobchak and Putin, and who died in Russia in 2004 from poisoning by an unknown radioactive substance.
In 2018, another former Russian intelligence officer Sergey Skripal, was nearly fatally poisoned with a nerve agent in the English town of Salisbury. The poison, which was identified by British investigators as a nerve agent, known as "Novichok", developed by the Soviet Union as part of a secret chemical weapons program. Russia again denied responsibility, but U.K. police were able to track two men, who were later identified as officers in Russian military intelligence. Both men, Anatoly Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin were found to have previously received Russia’s highest state honor, awarded personally by Putin.
It's also worth mentioning that when Stalin created the poison, he first tested it on Gulag prisoners. There are hundreds of known deaths within the Gulags. This was reported by numerous ex-Gulag prisoners who had witnessed the crimes. After WWII and the fall of Soviet Union, biological and chemical warfare are illegal. But that hasn’t stopped Putin. He has continued with the use of poisoning as a means of assassination.
But, the list of those who have troubled the Russian government or security services and then suffered poisoning is lengthy.
Boris Voldarsky, a former officer from the Soviet military intelligence agency, the GRU, who has written a book on the KGB poison program.
Oh no
Im sooo surprised.....

Crazy they keep doing it
Is that possible
The fact that Putin was threatening to poison one of the Oligarchs shows how deeply ruptured their relationship is... and those Oligarchs are holding all of Putin's money. Putin needs his FSB to do the threats, but he's risking losing military support, too - especially considering how many officers have died in Ukraine.

Poisoning is common denominator to get rid of person/persons and its sources are well-known in the world.

Sounds like the good ol' KGB up to their old tricks!!!
If the FSB would have poisoned them, these people would either be in an ICU or dead by now. This is just another fake news piece.
There is such a thing as international law, treaties, conventions, and the law of warfare. You do NOT attack diplomats or negotiators. Such behavior gets a nation labeled as a pariah.
Only labeled. And then all nations go back to trading with them. No big changes to worry about.
By international standards you don't target civilians or journalists either. But this is Putin.
International laws? Those are for civilized democracies that have values.
For the communist/autocracy regimes, and countries in the less civilized parts of the world, the only law or rule they have is the rule of the jungle.
They will denie it, like always. They are unpunished

And Frank Gardner should know. He knows all about evil organisations trying to kill you in sinister ways. He is one of the bravest correspondents in the employ of the BBC. Thank you for your reporting, Mr. Gardner.
He is not only the bravest but possesses magical powers that enables him to spot evil people just by smelling the air near such people.
Not many journalists are truly worthy of respect and admiration but Frank sure is.
