After the rain the desert looks like ocean without water. Catus and shrubs look like coral and seaweed. Never noticed that before..🤔
I have thought the same thing...this area is lower than sea level and use tobe a shallow in land sea.
most desert they're used to be ocean afaik
Can smell the fragrance of soil ....sooooo satisfying
How?? Which device??
@@MehediHasan-gx5gw lol
Not sure I follow... Do you always sniff dirt???
The first rain after a long hot summer. There is a specific smell. But only for thoes who are aware and out side only lasts for about 5-10 min once everything is soaked its gone. Yes there is a magical smell and a desert would be the same but probably more so
Haha ikr
I thoroughly enjoyed that. The only problem was it didn't go on for long enough. Everything looked so bright and refreshed after a drink. Rain is a blessing
I COULD IMAGINE HOW MUCH MIGHT BE THE PLANTS WERE HAPPY TO DRINK 💧
The plants were probably drowning in the water because they are not used to holding a lot of water, so their roots are suffocating (roots need air). So no, the plants would not be happy to drink even if they did have emotions. :(
Smile Doggo wow, just wow....
@@TheMattc999 Man aint wrong
@@TheMattc999 Yup, kind of a party pooper comment,
but some of those plants were damaged by this rain.
Someone has to point out the obvious fact, which I'm pretty sure, some actually didn't know.
Ravioli Ravioli this rain in the California desert is rare. So whatever vegetation gets it, helps them last until the next rainstorm. They hardly ever “drown”
And thats why under no circumstances ever do you pitch tent in a dry riverbed. Terrific vid thanks for sharing
Hi beautiful
@@alwaysuseless I made the mistake of camping in a dry river bed when I was younger to keep winds off. Yeah it got deep quick
You have to love the creek beds when the wheels are off are dry and out of nowhere it floods.
What a great day the desert meets the water! Like two old friends meet each other after a long time. Amazing beautiful this desert!!
Oh man, what a relaxing, satisfying and beautiful idea! I enjoyed the sight of seeing a desert landscape getting that rare drink that I am sure it cherishes when it does get it. Knowing those plants are storing the water so they will have it slowly as needed is so amazing. Also, the awesome water sounds made all the thoughts that flooded (pun intended😋) my mind, made it all the better. So, thanks for no music or commentary. I usually don’t mind commentary, but when nature is at work, I prefer to hear its commentary😉
The amount of water is dangerous for the plants. It will drown them. Plants can indeed drown (crazy I know)
@@mottmann2898 In 2105, Tampa Bay area of Florida has a monsoon month of August. I had to dig out all my newly planted beach sunflowers because they started to drown. The ground got so saturated I had a pond in my front yard. The very first year I ever did drought tolerant gardening, we had a lot of rain, too. Lost a bunch of plants because I was a novice then.
Nice! Life's an endeavor!

Cacti
They're okay. Saguaro are the best though
The amount of beauty in this video cannot be described!
What a beautiful sight.
Beautiful video , watching raining on plants in decert my heart fill with joy
Beautiful video! Good job! Reminds me of the big flood that came through Ocotillo in September of '77. Hurricane Kathleen parked itself over the top of the mountains, right where the old Desert View Tower is. Six inches of rain fell in six hours. A wall of water a mile wide and 30 feet high came through Ocotillo. You can still see the scar it left by using the satellite view tool on Google maps. Thank God the Winter people had not yet arrived. Took out the town, the old SD&AE railroad, and a good-sized chunk of I-8.
Didn't know that really intresting.
A mile wide and 30 feet tall? Exaggerate much? Yes 3 people died in the floods, but think about your numbers for a second.
rains are rare in desert.THEREFORE Whenever it rains it sites became as rewarding as any tropical garden
Thx for vid it’s helpful :D
Only time when the desert looks and smells beautiful. . When it rains
LumberJack Because that is the only time the desert itself looks and smells like life
You two apparently need an education on the desert. Grab a book.....
I wish i was there right at this time.
Would argue desert nights are better than most. Solitude, vast plains & starry skies
Vladimir_Bone Spur_tRump Deserts get so much hate yet they are such beautiful places. The Sonoran Desert is such a beauty with its abundance of Saguaro Cacti, Cholla, and shrub life and in the spring the desert comes to life with flowers of vibrant colors and red and orange sunsets. Another beautiful desert location is Sedona which I’m sure you know tons about. People are missing out and I guess they’ll never see the beauty.
This is a beautiful video, well made. The sounds are so relaxing! Thanks for sharing and take care out there! New sub! ♥
Beautiful, a lot of cactus variety.🏜️
I know exactly what this smells like. It smells like life.
Never thought a desert can look this beautiful
Glad you liked it thanks
@@RandomEndeavors Thank you for uploading!
Love the desert (born and raised). It's so great that you got this on video!! I can still smell it...
This was so interesting and satisfying to watch. I was enthralled by the rain and sound, I could almost smell that new fresh scent shortly after a rainfall. I’m not a fan of rain but I found it beautiful in the desert.
Thanks you!
I just had moved to this area in octillo 1 month prier and the 18th is my son's birthday. I dont remember this storm but I live in the very West of Octillo Wells so its totally possible it didnt reach my home. Beautiful place for thunderstorms in the Summer's
Water harvesting, build a series of swales and water holes to trap and slow the water., less soil erosion.
you have it right
Rain is blessing indeed, turns even the desert beautiful for a while!.
Precious commodity but all for Free in India we know the value of that single drop . mother nature revive everything by her blessings
Beautiful sound of water, yet scary to know how much potential energy it can have.
my thirst has been quenched by watching this video, such a relaxing view
Wow i like desert so much more than forests and Green lawns

Awesome! never seen the desert when it's raining. Great job filming, just Beautiful! Be safe out there. 👍❤✌🇺🇸😊
Oh Lord our God how Majestic you are. You said you cause the deserts to bloom.
My aunt lives in a desert type of town in California. She sends me photos and stuff about the town. She also posts photos on her Facebook. It's pretty where she lives.
Wanted to visit a desert area like death valley this spring but I'm starting a new job and low on money. Maybe next year
Congrats on the new job! :) Good luck to, via vacay!!
@@osuushiza8 Thank you! :) I will make it there eventually!
@@dickmaki3472 YW! :) 👍
So peaceful with natural sounds.
Nice video. It pays to stay attentive in certain terrain. I could just hear the plants sucking and slurping the bounty of water. The best i could come up with to imitate the sound in my head would be " thrthrthrthrthrthr".
I Love Rain....✌
Let's all pray that the deserts turn green. 🙏
Brilliant video. I was searching for this kind of video since I never watched rains in desert and want to see how a rain affects the area that is characterised for the lake of water.
Que hermoso desierto con lluvia gloria al REY DE. REYES Y SEÑOR DE SEÑORES!!!
No existe dios
Neat to watch the power of nature!
My dog used to love when the washes where flooded and he was a white dog and would come home orange lol miss the desert
Flooding like this on "Amargosa River" between Las Vegas and Tonopah in Navada. It's actually a dry wash of course, except when it floods like this. ☺
Even almighty God feeds the plants and animals in the wild.👼👍
The same almighty God doesn't raise a finger as it watches men rape and murder little children. What a special piece of shit you look up to.
My friend with all do respect, I don't think it's God that ruined the world its people like me and you that ruined it so we can only blame ourselves
Wow!! So beautiful.. thanks for this beautiful video
Thumbs up for the beautiful desert 💜
Wonderful, I love to see the Nature, Thanks so much 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Very well made, and refreshing...... It is also and essay on natural gardening.
Happened to me once in Nevada. Streams, floods, blocked roads; next day all was gone
அற்புதம்... அழகாக படம் பிடித்து காட்டியுள்ளனர்....
The craziest part is that with a few earthworks, all that rain could be captured and regreen the desert! Google the al-baydha project!
Beautiful video. Very good that you show us how it starts, how it finds the way down, how it grows bigger and bigger. How much greener the landscape is by the water. Amazing good. Thank you very much. ❤👍
Very nice video. I loved the variety of desert plants. :-)
nature is amazing🙏
What if there was a way to stop the flowing water maybe thru dams and use the it to improve biodiversity in the desert? What's the essence of exploring Mars and other planets when we can't stop desertification in our own planet earth?
Preserve this water. Control the ground water. Your desert will become green my dear American.
Mother Nature❤❤
was waiting for the graboid to pop up and take him...
nice filming capturing the event.
No... that would give me tremors.
@@RandomEndeavors - and shakin all over....... JUST DONT MOVE lol

I've seen it do that it Utah also .When it happens it not usually too good
It rains just enough to have that variety of desert plants but not so little that it would be barren.
Very true
Wow that was beautiful never seen anything like it
It's not a silent killer. It's a life saver.
That's actually great ..thanks for capturing it 🌸

Precioso paisaje, maravilloso video! Gracias!
great video, amazing how the water collects.
Thanks, I really needed this explanation
beautiful video very interesthing...thank,s..
Wonderful. Thanks.
Makes one wonder if there could be some swales, check dams, and percolation ponds built, what would happen to groundwater tables in the area.
The world on you depends our lifes will never end.
