Its nice seeing someone go through the actual process of making one out of a wooden cabinet! My mom is giving me her old wood curio cabinet, and every time i look up what all i need to do to prep it, its always metal ikea ones. So thank you for showing your process!

Honestly interesting to see it on its side, definitely if you had the space would work as a more horizontal display

I have 3 ikea greenhouse cabinets & I love this DIY! Would be an easy fun project to do with an old shelf laying around. Love the color choice too! You could totally put in wire shelves for better airflow & humidity. And use wire pegboard on the sides to clip small nursery pots

Yep, I just wanted to keep it simple for this first one, I’m working on another one currently that’ll blow this cabinet project out of the water

You have to seal off the inside with a mold and mildew resistant paint or a rubber based paint. I definitely should have used wood filler on the gaps and cracks before I painted it to ensure it was fully sealed

Polyurethane will completely seal the wood and prevent any moisture from seeping in. It just takes 24 hrs to cure and has to be done in a well ventilated area while curing since it emits toxic fumes when first applied. After it’s cured though it no longer poses any health risk to breathe in so it’s only while curing.
