After a long night of disappointing matches, we decided to revisit one of the strongest tanks in the game, at least in my opinion. This thing is so brutal to anything it comes across.

With the Wehrmarcht, the Panzer III was the backbone for a large majority of WWII.
But within the ranks of the TBLF, it's greatness goes to waste & chaos happens.

I know from 39 and 40 it was but was the Stug the backbone along side the Panzer 4
I'd say it certainly was until the Germans pretty much replaced it with the stug 3 and panzer 4. But then agian the stug 3 is built on the panzer 3 Chassis so technically it didn't go out of service
I'd say Panzer III was backbone of the army only during the first half of the war.Then Panzer IV,Stug III and Panther.
That entire battle on the snow map was hilarious. From duck jokes, to Ham and Retro squabbling, to Stick casually killing planes while talking xD

I agreed, but the line has always been odd. The early 3's with the 37 and short 50 are absolute garbage, the J1 and L are amazing, and the M used to be over tier. The M only got good recently because volumetric and a big BR decrease. Also i don't know when it happened but the long 50 got a buff and the pen went from 90 to whatever it's now. 110 i think.

Pz.III? Underrated? A tank that always surfaces when people start discussing "first real MBT/universal tank" or "early blitzkrieg" or "superiority of optics and radio over guns and armor" is underrated in your opinion? lol.
Yeah like the 3 too and the 4 are overshadowed by tiger and panther tanks
@@TheArklyte The Panzer III is not an early example of MBT, it's designed to work alongside the Panzer IV, taking care of armoured targets while the Panzer IV takes care of static and infantry targets
I love how their little verbal fight gets resolved by a bomb

The Panzer III is a fun little tank and the 50mm KwK 39 is a great little gun. Definitely an underrated tank in War Thunder.
Best part about the Panzer III M is that while it still faces plenty of guns that can pen it, the spaced armor and added armor gives it magical bouncing abilities. I have played this tank extensively since getting it back after it first came out, and it’s been a staple of the German tech tree for me. Word of advice for those going to get it: while the osketten does increase the vehicle’s mobility, it really doesn’t need the increase all that much. Obviously it depends on your play style, but the side skirts have saved me so many times that I just can’t recommend enough that you stick with the over the slight mobility upgrade. It’s already a panzer III, so it’s got the speed and power to get things done well. In the end though, choose what fits your playstyle

The Pz. III series have always been among my favorite tanks in the game. I prefer the L over the M, because it's a little less "skirty." At their BR, you can definitely feel their lack of punch, and the reason that Germany moved to the Pz. IV.
“Lack of punch” more pen than american 75, more pen than british 75 (not counting the super high increase bc of apcbc) more pen than russian 76, and these show up at 3.3 (higher br). its actually obscene that a pz 4 g would be at 3.3 (145mm of pen) while other nations struggle with 100mm + of pen
@@apocalypse5228 What I mean by "lack of punch" is that the Pz. III's have penetration, but no explosive filler. You end up needing multiple rounds to finish a target.

@Kilo Zulu@@duke0salt717 Panzer III is definitely a skill tank. On a historical note, Panzer III and IV were produced and deployed together. In the early half of the war, Pz. III was used as a medium tank interchangeably with the Panzer IV, but later it moved to the light tank role instead, replacing the short-lived Pz. II and Pz. 38. Each German armored company had one platoon of light tanks by design. The light tank platoon was not to engage in direct combat except for self-defense and was primarily a forward scouting element, so the weapon's effective firepower was not as important as its weight and maneuverability by the time that gun was starting to meet its match on the battlefield.
Panzer III was a multi-role vehicle from the start, it just got delegated secondary roles later on.

Angling the pz. III is like angling a Tiger. Almost no one can pen you. I beat an a.c.i at long distance with one, after trading almost 20 rounds.

I have a soft spot for my Panzer iii J, its one of the most fun vehicles I have played in. People see, to underestimate it for whatever reason, it’s always fun catching a careless Sherman or Chaffee who thinks they’re gonna get an easy kill off guard!

Recently Iv been playing pziii m and like IT FUCKS!!!! Iv done some insane BS with this boy got 15 kills with him alone while loosing my electrical turret drive and lost tracks and was taking fire. She is a beast

I love that 50mm gun! It’s makes the Pz.III a great back up tank in the German lineup.
The 50 is great, if you have the n model (the premium panzer 3) you can even play it in an uptier against Shermans and t 34s the heat can punch through their frontal armour if they're unangled

Germany 3.0 is very strong three panzer 3s M L and N, the puma, 2 tds with the pak 40, the duck, stug 42 which is pretty much a heavy tank from the front. Very good lineup

If your new and want to have fun stay with the same battle rating and not play to progress. It’s much more fun with low tier under 5.0 until you get more tanks at the same rating. And it’s not like cod you die don’t get mad keep going. playing to win never ends up in you just having fun.
