Do you not want to support the devs who make this game? Steam takes a 30% cut of what they make vs the epic store's 5%. Imagine losing a third of your salary because of where you sell the game. If you actually enjoy it or care about the people who make these products of entertainment you should support them on the platform they chose to use
@@ExistentialPineapple I refuse to use the Epic launcher platform because: Less content/features than Steam. Epic's aggressiveness in securing exclusives for their platform. Epic blatantly hurting Steam consumers, like what happened with Metro Exodus. They're suspected of selling personal user data to third parties. (Yes, I know steam also sells to third parties too, but the difference is that it's anonymous, not personal.) They're suspected to be funded by a Chinese corporation that can't be trusted. (Tencent) AKA Chi-com spying. I'd argue that Steam gives the devs a better platform for their game because of all the content features included with the launcher, all for the price that they take from sales. The devs also have other ways of making money, such as DLC's, Content packs, Microtransactions, and possibly marketable items such as what CS:GO has, which can be used on Steams provided marketplace.
@@ExistentialPineapple That's just a naive childish way to look at just the % they take. First of all, any publisher takes a % for performing the service. Second, Steam actually does a huge amount of work with that bigger cut they take. You might not care if you're on Windows, but for Linux development they hired a lot of guys improving the whole vertical stack on Linux from kernel, driver and other implementations. Valve is not just taking the money and putting a stamp on the game.
@@ExistentialPineapple If the developers actually cared about the consumers, they would have released it everywhere they could. As the consumer, I have the power, not the reverse. They have to earn my money, and doing something like this is not the way to do it. They alienated a massive chunk of their fanbase and Epic's service sucks. Hope they enjoy having fewer sales, a much smaller community, and massive backlash due to Epic exclusivity. I'll just keep playing Spintires and Mudrunner on Steam, where all my friends are.
@@symple19 I'll give you credit in that it should be available everywhere if the developer truly cared, but let me ask another question - would you also be fine with paying 20% more for the same game on steam? Pearbubbles 1 If you mean that it allows a racing wheel or something like that, I don't think it would. You know how like in mudrunner the trucks were old so they didn't have power shifting? That's why. On a racing wheel you would turn the wheel all the way but in the game it would still be turning, so it would be a little wonky
Looks sick, lots of new content and stuff.... but the physics look exactly like the other versions, i at least expected for them to work on that. And not on steam?!? Were being buttfucked a lil here.
This game looks awesome. Kind of like Far Cry 5 which I really enjoyed. Never played a car/truck simulator game but now I am in the mood for one. Definitely feeling like I could play a lot of this due to lockdown. Kind of want a chill but challenging sandbox open world game if you get my drift.
It would've been nice to give us a few initial missions on roads to make some money and allow us to buy some 'mud' tyres rather than expecting us to drive in the mud with road tyres, makes the inital experience very frustrating. You then place barrier in the road like pylons, rock falls, downed bridges so the roads are initially impassable, why not have these occur later in the game when you've managed to make enough money to buy trucks and opened up the ability to buy tyres? They then plop you into Alaska without any money or way of buying snow tyres! A bit like how they made the tutorial in Elden Ring, they made it clear they didn't want noobs playing it.
Finaly we get what we have been waiting for. Big maps with multiple missions and progression. HOWEVER the game is not on steam, it looks like there will be extremely expensive dlcs for a game you already payed money for (you get a tractor that you otherwise wouldnt get with the pre order edition) AND it is not on steam so mods wont compensate for this. I am sorry but get your s*** together because I wont buy a game that only gets updated when I pay for the ubdates.
@whiterthan hitler Boo hoo yourself asshat. He has the right to complain whether you like it or not. And I can tell you didn't like him using that right because why else would you make such a smartass comment.
Well when you say update what exactly do you mean? I remember with Mudrunner even on consoles when they updated the game, you did get an update with any improvements and bugfixes. If they are charging for basic updates then that would be bs, but charging for additional content such as maps that take time and cost money to make then yeah I understand charging for that.
@@ram89572 I know where you are comeing from and I understand you argument. I should have probably phrased that differently. I feel like you should also be getting new aditions to the game like new maps and new vehicles/features/items without haveing to pay for it. Take Post Scriptum for example. I payed 20€ for that absolutely beautiful game and I get a game that constantly gets updated. They dont call those updates DLCs and yet Chapter 2 (the battle of france) brought us new french maps, the french army with all of their unique weapons and vehicles, french early war tanks, german early war tanks, new german early war weapons and much more. If periscope games can do it then the guys who develope snow runner can do it too. Instead you will probably pay something like 20€ for snow runner and there will be something like 10 dlcs for 5€ each and you will end up paying the price of a AAA game for a game that is not a AAA title. Also dont listen to that guy who wrote Boo Hoo. Judgeing by his profile pic and the name he is most likely a troll.
@@jakobc.2558 Oh yeah, they absolutely could make more content available for free. I feel you on that part. I'm a big ETS2/ATS fan and have been for years. I got into ETS2 back even before all of the trucks licensed and actually branded so I've been with it for a while and I can tell you that SCS gives a lot of free content to their players. They still charge for big DLC, but in my opinion players get a lot of value added to the game without having to spend anything extra. And yeah if you look at the pre order page you can see the deluxe edition includes the "season pass" for a number of dlcs. Looks like they are wanting $40 USD for the standard game and $60 USD for the game + season pass on pc through that god awful epic game store. Add $10 more to each price for the Xbox one version of the game. So yeah I feel like that's probably a bit overpriced, but I have to admit I will probably still pay it. Whether or not I would be able to stomach buying it on the epic store though is another matter entirely and I may just have to buy it on one of the consoles instead.

Do you not want to support the devs who make this game? Steam takes a 30% cut of what they make vs the epic store's 5%. Imagine losing a third of your salary because of where you sell the game. If you actually enjoy it or care about the people who make these products of entertainment you should support them on the platform they chose to use
@@ExistentialPineapple I refuse to use the Epic launcher platform because:
Less content/features than Steam.
Epic's aggressiveness in securing exclusives for their platform.
Epic blatantly hurting Steam consumers, like what happened with Metro Exodus.
They're suspected of selling personal user data to third parties. (Yes, I know steam also sells to third parties too, but the difference is that it's anonymous, not personal.)
They're suspected to be funded by a Chinese corporation that can't be trusted.
I'm just trying to understand what possible compromise developers and consumers can reach here
Will there be console wheel support? This was missing in Mudrunner and it would really improve gameplay.
I can wait for this to be released. Already bought the premium edition.
Looks sick, lots of new content and stuff.... but the physics look exactly like the other versions, i at least expected for them to work on that. And not on steam?!? Were being buttfucked a lil here.

No Steam no buy.

Steam community and workshop made MudRunner what it was and you guys are abandoning a massive part of your player base with this decision. they said there will be modding support and honestly steam workshop is terrible with many mods disappearing
@@carnap355 They were not disappearing for no reason, there are other modding websites like spintires.nl & mudrunnermods.com where the real mod makers posted their content. Quite a lot of people were basically stealing their work and posting it on Steam workshop as their own.
