My review of the island was going to be "DON'T VISIT ST. LUCIA," but then Peter helped me realize that it is a BEAUTIFUL island that you should just explore differently than we did :) If you've been to St. Lucia before, did you like it? And if so, what did you do while you were there?
Dont destroy the tourism industry which is the main foreign exchange earner and employs thousands. Be careful what u post. USA has a problem with terrorism and mass shootings weekly. I prefer these rugged roads
@@Jenny-e4v I don’t feel that’s the intent but the reason I watched these videos is to get an idea what to do while their briefly . There is no place on earth that’s perfect but the aggressive comments makes me not even want to leave the cruise ships. Let people speak. Yes, US has shooting all day and night but that does not mean all of us experience that life. Actually I was born in the Caribbean and do I want to live there, HELL NO…but I’m entitled to my opinion especially when spending my money.
One needs at least a week to take in and appreciate the whole of what St. Lucia offers ! Cruise ship stop-offs don't give guests enough time to breathe ! My advice to cruise guests is to just concentrate on the north end of the island where the cruise ships dock . Castries to Rodney bay to Reduit beach to Pidgeon island beaches and national park will give a temporary visitor lots of beauty and enjoyable opportunities . Catamaran cruises from Rodney bay are the best way to explore the south Soufriere and its beautiful Pitons ( great rum parties and snorkeling choices ) . But the north end of the island has its own beauty , beaches and restaurants to sit back and relax to use your time well !
Thank you for an honest review that is very useful for practical advice. What a change from the many videos that tend to show off only the best experiences, like their authors never make a bad choice.
St Lucia is known as The Helen of The West Indies. It currently holds the title of Best Honeymoon Destination. This title has been awarded on numerous occasions
Never do a Caribbean cruse if you want to really see St Lucia. Instead you should book a hotel on the island and stay and explore. Cruses do not give one enough time to explore. I have done 5 months and 2 weeks in St Lucia and loved it. Thanks for sharing
I feel like your tour guide didnt do a great job... but this is a nice video. Maybe one day you might come back here to St. Lucia and get a much better experience.
Thank you for the video. Ignore the rude comments please! Yes some of us want to know if we want to avoid car sickness, especially when you don't know when the curves will stop. We will be heading there in a couple of years, so good info. Thank you.
You know this is an old video BUT I agree, one can disagree but people need to chill. I lived on several Islands, personally I'd never take a 4-6,000 floating city and have to line up and be a sheep on the companies time table. Every thing they said wasn't a " St Lucia issue it was a cruise ship issue and having to deal with thousands. I honestly recommend flying and taking a Hotel. If you want to Island hop then local flights are cheap and quick. Also sailing is a lot cheaper than people think and very chilled. I know most the USA only gets Two weeks vacation and not the 4-5 weeks we get in Europe so why go on a stressful cruise. Get away from it be on your time and your rules, No way could I clock watch and worry about connections and excursions that just give you a glimpse and demand tipping 🤔🤔. But anyway as they say " Each to their own "... ✌️🙏✌️
Of course, it all depends on what you are looking for. I spent a week there and some of my best memories were driving around. If you like to drive, nothing else in my experience comes close. We had to do the route from Castries to Soufriere once in the dark. Now that's an adrenaline rush!
We did a similar type of excursion, but via speedboat. it was a fabulous day. Went to the mud pools and then the waterfall. We arrived an hour ahead of the buses, so we beat the crowds. We were just leaving as the bus tours began arriving. Then off to lunch and afternoon at the beach. 1/2 hr on speedboat vs 2 hrs by bus. No contest.
It’s very beautiful there, but we didn’t even get to go on the tour because my son wouldn’t wake up on time. We were going to take a boat to the pitons
A good video! Thank you so much for sharing your video. I see Saint Lucia 🇱🇨 is a beautiful place to visit. I hope one day I will go to visit this beautiful place. I enjoyed watching this video. I watch your video from Canada 🇨🇦 😁👍👍
Sometimes it is hit or miss. Saint Lucia has tons of beautiful places and I was very indecisive about what to do but your video helped me decide because I do get really car sick, so thank you for the feedback
Loved your video! We are booked for a 12 night on Royal Caribbean in Dec 2024 and for our day on Saint Lucia we signed up for "The Island Delights" which will take us to Soufriare and then lunch between Pitons. I think talking to others on bus would be so fun. And think of all the culture you experienced by driving and seeing it all. If on water it would not be the same. And must remember to bring dollars for the BR's! Thank you again!
Due to some unforeseen factors like rough seas, inclement weather, a cruise ship could arrive late in the port. These factors could affect your sightseeing
Which is it? Do your research, or hide their real experience so they don’t hurt tourism? People can only do research if others tell the truth of what they experience.
The roads are very narrow and winding but the views are incredible it's great place for people who love adventure! Also North of Castries doesn't have those amazing views you get in the South there are beaches but that you can get on any island..
All I can say is if this comment section is representative of St. Lucian’s, I think we are changing our minds! I have never seen so many defensive, negative comments about a simple amateur travel experience video. I would be scared to be less than totally pleased with anything if we went. I guess that’s not allowed!
I think your biggest mistake was going there on such a large cruise ship being in Port at 1 PM is absurd. We experienced this island on a Windstar cruise ship and we woke up in Port and didn’t leave until 9 PM. Those large ships have their benefits, but experiencing the port of calls is not one of them, I encourage you to check out our videos on WindStar and perhaps go that route on your next anniversary trip. PS we love your videos and your content. Keep up the good work.
Tourism is a very fragile and sensitive sector. No one has ever complained about the roads. Barbados is a flat Island. St Lucia is mountainous, in the centre of the Island. We are not rich like USA,so we cannot afford to have flat roads everywhere. Further, we will be destroying the beautiful scenery and animal life. Am surprised to view your video discouraging people from visiting. Stop complaining.
I haven't been to Saint Lucia since 1990s but remember it to be a very beautiful place. I hope to return with my fiancee this year. Greetings from Nevada!
America doesn’t have flat roads everywhere. They mostly flat when the terrain is flat. A lot of roads follow the general terrain. If it’s hilly then the road is hilly.
Instead of complaining, you gotta read the tour description to understand what is offered in your package, and secondly, most times, cruiseships never get to port on time meaning it affects the structure of your tour and the duration of your tour....you cant get a full tour if your cruise ship is late, especially if one is heading to the south by land it usually takes an hour and a half 75% of the islands g.d.p is dependent on tourism so lisa you need to be careful with the shit u post on here and to be frank you give KAREN energy
