Hey guys I’m just another Canadian hosed eh! So this dudes videos are great because he describes items quickly and effectively. Has anyone ever wondered about the Canadian nickels that have the long scratches diagonally on them? I know there must be a lot of collectors that would lie to know. Well they are from the Canadian cigarette machines. Nickels were used readily to buy smokes when they were under 40 cents. Now you know. So towel off eh! Oh and I was born on Lincoln’s birthday 100 years almost to day the slaves were freed. Feb 12, 1963

nice video most off these nickels yes are hard to find. also there is another one is the 1996 attach 6, this one has a die chip so the 6 and the d in Canada are attach to each other i found nd one and there are a few more to look at 1990 bare belly beaver and the 1980 double date and a 1867-1967 rabbit nickel with a double date , i have found these, but up here in Canada the gov't has the alloy recovery program ANY COIN DATE 2000 AND BACK MADE OUT OF NICKEL IS BEING PULL OUT AND REPLACE WITH THE STEEL COINS THAT WILL SHOW RUST AFTER awhile . one more thing what is the scope of the 2009 coins especially the nickels i heard of low mintage i found one Philly and two Denver. one last thind when i was a teen i pick up a 1954s over d then some time later got rid of it i wish i keep it, that is it for now.

I am always finding coins in a local grocery store that has a coinstar machine. People put their change in the machine and it counts the coins and give the customer a receipt for the amount of change it counted. Then the customer uses the receipt to do some grocery shopping. Some coins are rejected and are always left behind. It is not unusual for me to find silver Franklin Roosevelt times having been rejected and left behind.
    So today I just so happen to be there at the grocery store and found quite a few Canadian nickels; (1) 1944 - (1) * 1947 * - (1) 1950 - (1) 1952 - (4) 1961 - (2) 1962 and then (1) 1953 Quarter.
I already have a nice little collection of pre-1968 (mostly 1940s) Canadian Quarters and dimes nobody seems to want. Not too bad of a deal!

This is b/c the population of Canada was a lot less than US population, so there was nowhere near the demand for coins.
All Canadian coins had much lower mintages than US coin. A mintage of 4,000,000, for the 1938 nickel dot not make it hard to find. Your video makes it sound like the 1938 is harder to get than the 1948 - which it is not. I found quite a few 38s in circulation years ago as opposed to only one 1948.
On the 1953, it is the serifs on the letter I of the DEI, that are straight (missing) or flared.
On the 1926 where you say on the near 6, "the 6 is clearly touching the maple leaf." This is incorrect. Neither varieties have a 6 that touches the maple leaf. The fact neither have a touching 6 is the reasons so many people have trouble distinguishing this variety. Side by side they are not hard to tell, but it takes practice if only one of the varieties is in front of you.
Another good one to add to your list is the 1964 EWL (Extra Water Line). Also, 1970 was a year in which the mintage of nickels and quarters was around the same as the more hard to find 1948 coins (Canadian mintages for most coins were low - the reason being 1947 Maple Leaf varieties were made in the first part of 1948).
