Guys when it comes to art, there'll be everything out there. Good, beautiful, dark, thrilling, toxic stories. When it's a book, we either choose to read it or drop it! But when it's a movie, why are we so judgmental. Let all kindof movies be made and audience will choose which one they like. For that to happen, audience have to become sufficient as to not go to a movie just because it has a superstar or it's doing good at the box office. We should go only if we are really interested in the plot and characters. It's on us. But art and artists have freedom to create art.
That's like saying let's us add drugs to chocolates, candies and it's up to kids to choose what they want. It is also the manufacturers responsibility to put healthy things on the shelf.

That's how you see it, but the director goes overboard to defend the actions of the character, almost as if he admires this character. This admiration comes across in the narrative too, be it ranvijay or arjun reddy. (eg. in GOT, the most horrible things happen to the Starks in the first season, and Lannisters keep winning, but the narrative is such that the audience sees a hero in the starks, feel bad for Dany, and hatred for the lannisters, because that's how the creator himself thinks. )
Personally, I didn't find Animal as offensive as Twitter made out to be, but i found it ridiculous, and the fact that he called it the "best movie" bla bla is even more ridiculous. Yeah, it was entertaining and way better than RRPK for sure.
Movie is not on good guy vs bad guy. Both the guys have negatives that's why the movie name is animal......
The director also says from the character point of view .... And also the charecter doesnt always do the wrong thing .. actually in real life ppl be much more worse than that

She slapped him twice in the movie and he didn’t
Protagonist was so aggressive on her when she said bad stuff about his father

In the next 10 years, there will be another acceptance of being complacent towards movies like Animal. Like in present, it is towards the item nos. The problem is most men are not the targets, such attitudes only affect women, specially Indian. Why would men be affected by such a flawed character! The shift can only occur by awareness and not by applauding.

See this is the first dark + voilent movie where hero and villian were dark basically there is no such thing like hero. Setting aside any moral implications of the film, which character in the whole film had any "development"? 😂
Everyone from the main cast to the side and small characters only played very two dimensional characters, that literally had no arc. Eveyone is doing the same thing over and over again. The songs are great but their placement is so awkward, like they made a few trailer worthy scenes and created a lackluster film around that. The plot is worse than the flops from 2000s bollywood films. It all looks great because of high production budget, but let's not mask how bad the film is because the main character is a psychopath.
I can ignore the glorification of misogyny if the movie is at least good, like Kabir Singh. This was absolute crap.
