I think the search for there not being a Creator God begins not wanting to answer to Him. It is then taken to all levels from being willingly ignorant, to the filling of the mind with enough worldly BS to muddy the obvious and harden the heart so they can live in the will and whims of their own moral compass. It began when we knowingly disobeyed God and realized we were naked (Adam & Eve). ...My internal rambling on this thought runs through the idea of the greater order found in "chaos" when seen in full - 'saying that having described those choosing to get lost/stuck in the minutia. And since we can't see and know everything in the whole of creation through its entire existence, it comes down to making a decision based on faith - there being a greater order to it all.
@Jordan-fg9cc I agree with you. FWIW, a fuller version of what I’m saying would include the desire for sin, at least in a lot of (perhaps most, maybe even all) cases. This intellectual justification I’m talking about would often/usually/always be the means to that end. I’m not ruling out the possibility of people who genuinely, perhaps more innocently than others, just do not see reason for belief. I’ve talked to people who considered themselves to be in that position.
@@Jordan-fg9cc I am not referring to organized religion (or politics or human relationships - things that are muddied by the inherent flaws of human nature)...it is about atheism and agnosticism. I don't think many will fall into the atheist category, since you can't definitively prove there is no Creator - no human has enough knowledge to prove such a thing. An agnostic understands that, but chooses to deny a Creator. What is the advantage of that? :)
I’m not sure I’ve met another Christian that also sees that we are destined for earth in the resurrection. Doesn’t our scripture plainly say that He will come and make His dwelling with us? Thanks, I feel less alone tonight. And after that heavy thought, a humorous note. The first time i heard the end of the Manson part I misheard him saying “roast beef, roast beef, roast beef, beef, beef, beef …” instead of “supposed to be”. 🤷♂️

I think that's quite a reductive point of view. There are many other reasons and paths that have led people to apostasy.

Haha amazing comment, top to bottom.
