I got one from Amazon as an impulse purchase halfway through the shave it looked like I'd had a facial from Freddy Kruger followed by Edward Scissorhands, so I got a Merkur first shave three passes no cuts or weepers, Perfect example of buy cheap buy twice.
Hi Andrew, Just had my 2nd shave with this Wilkinson razor. Edward and Freddy are certainly doing the rounds at the moment!! The first shave was bad too! I will shave next with my Rockwell 6c. I also have the Merkur 34c. Great razor! I also am getting used to the Rockwell and trying out the different plates. I have had the most success with the Merkur. Stay safe! Dave.
Unfortunately, this new WS razor is hard to find in many countries. I think WS was surprised by the high demand, they probably did not expect to sell that many razors. They were sold out so quickly. Although I have not tried it myself, from what I have heard it must be ok to even good. Certainly a good deal regarding its price. You are bound to run into nicks and cuts when you shave off such a heavy grown beard. Try this razor and this blade on a 24 hours growth and you will get a favourable shave, I am quite sure.
Bro got butchered below his lip.. thanks for the review and the sacrifice lol. My WS razor is getting delivered today by Amazon, I’ll remember to use my Voschod blades.
I bought one 1 month ago because I was not fully satisfied with the quality of shave with the new King C Gillette razor (left too much stubble remaining, is just too mild -with the KCG blades anyway). This one, though mild, is a tiny bit more aggressive (with the same KCG blades), the shave is better, you get a smoother face. Though I had 2 or 3 tiny nicks in the first 2 shaves. It is a very nice razor, for me I have a better feel than the KCG. I like it. BTW Wilkinson blades are a little rough for me, KCG blades are ok, but hugely overpriced for their quality (at least in Germany, 10 blades = 6€!). I am trying to find better, cheaper blades.
@@ParityCheck365 I know. I guess the KCG blades are just rebranded ones made by Gillette’s Russian factory. My point is that they are sold at a price that is just too high (at least over here). I got a sample pack razor blades and slowly test which ones are suited for me (the best until now are unbranded Personna blades, sold at a Supermarket chain - Real - quite cheap at 1.59 € / 10 blades).
I'll check them out if they are are available in the UK. Or if I can get to Mainland Europe sometime this year :) have you watched my KCG shaving review?
@@ParityCheck365 I bought them at a Real Supermarket, their label is „La Ligne“ Blister packaging. 10 blades in unmarked case, white paper with a pic of an unmarked DE blade on top. No names on case, none on white paper wrap. No marking / stamping / writing on blade. Not available at their online shop. Formerly sold under label „Tip“.
Well to be honest I don't know how to shave with this kind of razor. I don't wanna destroy my face trying to learn how to use it. It looks like the ones they use in barbershop but the ones they use in barbershop is straight blade, not a safety razor... Is it really necessary? Isn't it better to get a mach3 or similar modern razor that is way easier to cut than using this? Why people would want to get this kind of safety razor?
It's a lot cheaper to shave this way and just a nice novelty to shave like your grandad would. (it was for me). Mach3 or similar blades for 4 blades costs me £8-£10 pounds and 8 blades box will cost me nearly £20 it's not really sustainable anymore for many people. I can buy 100 blades for £7 and they will last me a very long time
@@fuckoff6513 I'm not a safety razor fan not because I don't want to use it, simply I can't due to my skin conditions. But the advantage of a safety razor is the price of blades. They are 10 times cheaper than cartridge razor replacement blades. And even if You gonna use a single blade only 2-3 times it is still cheaper. Safety razor will last for ages(with good care), plus it's more healthy for the environment due to easy recycling process, as they are made just from metal. Cartridge razor "starter pack" is cheap, but the blades are worth fortune if You want to carry on. That's how the companies like Gillette making most of the money. And You need to practice with a safety razor a little bit. Try it, You never know.
@@ParityCheck365 My favorite is the Nacet because I have a very sensitive skin which cannot stand Feathers and Lords. They are not available all the time, so whenever I find them I buy a 100s box. The best ones are made in Russia (others with the same box are made in China or Egypt but are rubbish).
Gillette 7 oclock are the best blades out of all the brands i've used. Feather are a bit too sharp and the turkish brands cut a bit too easy. The wilkinson swords a just behind the Gillettes.
Yes Gillette 7 o'clock blades are really good on my skin. Feather are sharper but I've been able to use them without much hassle. If you watch my movie review on the front runner you will see how bad these Wilkinson blades were. I came out with red bloobs on my neck

Ouch. Yes I always take my Merkur with me where ever I go.

This DE razor gives the blade an angle that makes it very easy to cut yourself if you don't know what you do, comparing it to a Muhle R89.
It can do. How do you find the weight helps with the shave?

Hello, can You use razors from other brands in it? Or just Wilkinson?
You can use any just as long as they are the standard safety razor size

Feather blades are the best
Yes they are
Gillette Nacet are good too (the ones with a crocodile drawing on the box).
