I am looking forward to this so much. I have to agree with you, Brittan was a very exceptional drummer. Always loved what he did on Wings Over America. Greetings from Ireland.
Seriously folks, this is the greatest Wings album I've heard. Paul flexing his peak vocal performance riding high during the Band on the Run album's multi-week dominance on the pop charts.
I just encountered a Wings documentary yesterday, I guess Paul is up in the algo again for this album release. Indeed the singles he did with Wings are some of the brightest songs in my first three years of life not conscious of my path as a Bard, but listening to the world and talking in the local language before I was two, but those memories have no ID marks on them as to who did them. It's always a joy to discover the people who made the sounds that impressed upon me when I was not exactly pre-verbal, but still small and taking in all the sounds of the world with fewer filters than I constructed by learning my take on the craft of music later on. Prog nerd I am what with my astrology map showing so many advanced intelligence cues, and things like Live And Let Die sound to me like prog rock supreme. Wings is nearly unexplored for me so it's a joy to find some fresh explorations in the golden age of Rock. Speaking of astrology, my Venus is retrograde in Aquarius and indeed all my life I've taken in the sounds around me and then looked into their influences. Granny music, give me some of that! John would only cast his music anchor as far back as the rock and roll of his childhood, where Paul took in the tropes of Ragtime, Irish and English folk tunes, and 30's Jazz, music of his generation's grandparents, my great grands. When I was younger and more unconsciously rebellious I did like John more. At 50 my skills are more advanced, thank you Tai Ji and nutritional improvements and bicycles that have so far given me an improving sense of health, fitness and strength as I age. I'm glad the algo tossed some Wings my way as it reaches me when I appreciate Paul's more refined edge better now that my youthful rebellious tendencies have cooled, and been trained by martial arts. I'm also sick of the politics that John and Yoko so passionately supported. Being a John guy in my youth and setting of one of the most woke echo chambers in all the world, Portland Oregon and surroundings the John politics are a big part of what made my trip more ugly and difficult than it would have been had I had a different life where Paul's take on music was more appealing in my youth. It seems far better to me now to build the new world not by fighting the dying beast, but by shining your light with all you've got in the joy and beauty side of things. Lots of John music just seems crass and snotty to me, a proto punk. Lefty politics inculcates addiction to victim identities casting abusive diss turds at all they see as abusers and bigots. That crap made me unfit for the stage which is why I'm not edging my way into bigger music scenes until my 50's. Wings is a breath of fresh air from my deepest present life audio memories and I'm glad that set of sounds now has a group of musicians I'm aware of now that I have some skill in their craft. Great job covering this release. I’ve always enjoyed the bootleg footage of this. Paul’s voice was in amazing shape during this era and these sessions were a great precursor to the 75-76 tour.
Great one again, Michael. Thanks for posting it. I'll have to do quite a bit of digging into getting a copy of that Wings LP. Got Band On The Run and the original Wings Over America but I've yet to see any new remasters of them here in Bakersfield.

Rumors are, a newly restored cut of the film will be uploaded to Paul's official UA-cam channel. They are supposedly doing this, instead of a physical release. I think the "One Hand Clapping" sessions are very good. I have a bootleg CD and DVD. Unfortunately, the piano segment song, "Suicide" was left off this release. Likely due to P.C. reasons. I'm getting the 2 CD set. It's unfortunate that "The Backyard" segment isn't on the CD. It easily could have fit. CD 2 is significantly shorter than CD 1. CD 1 has all the songs from the original unreleased film, except the previously mentioned "Suicide", plus a take of "Junior's Farm". The take offered on CD 2 is a skillful edit of the film version and an alternate take. I have both on my CD bootleg.
@@michaelrochester48 Physical media sells so poorly today, that they probably felt it wasn't worth releasing the film on it's own. I'm sure most CD buyers would've been fine with paying a bit extra for them to include a Blu-Ray or DVD of the film with the 2 CD set.
Hey Michael, I'm definitely getting this. The picture you showed of the bootleg cd at 6:06 is the one I've owned for years. I WILL say that the only thing that aggravated me a little was Paul taking over everything and bossing everybody around. I mean even John!!! It didn't surprise me at all - just irritated me a little bit. It's just Paul being the prima donna he's always been. Other than that I just DO NOT see what everyone was so upset about. All in all, I really thought it was a really wonderful documentary!!!
Brittan played on the Junior's Farm/Sally G. single. He did good work, wish he had stayed around a little longer. I guess this is what Paul had in mind when he first envisioned the Get Back sessions.
Hi Michael, I have got the SHM-CD & 2lp+7" versions of One Hand Clapping on pre-order. I have got a feeling that the Band On The Run Half Speed Master with Underdubbed mix and the upcoming One Hand Clapping release are 'unofficial" Archive Collection. I also believe that the London Town Archive Collection + 50th Anniversary Half Speed Master will be released together in 2028 and the Back To The Egg Archive Collection + 50th Anniversary Half Speed Master will be relased in 2029. Why do I think this? Well it is the Flaming Pie Archive Collection release and the 50th Anniversary Half Speed Master releases has me thinking this way. The Flaming Pie Archive Collection vinyl release was released as a Half Speed Master and I don't see any future Arcive Collection vinyl releases being any other the Half Speed Master release and there is no point releasing a Half Speed Master Archive Collection release a year or two before a 50th Anniversary Half Speed Master release. The only album I could see get an Archive Collection release before London Town is the Off The Ground album. Another possible lost Wings album release could be Soundtrack for the abandoned full length Rupert Bear film. One last thing, Geoff Britton was playing drums on the Nashville sessions that produce "Junior's Farm"/"Sally G" single, the Country Hams 's "Walking In The Park With Eloise" single, Denny's "Send Me The Heart" that would eventually see the light of day on his"Japanese Tears" album and other recordings
I wish they were released yesterday too, but thanks to Flaming Pie Archive Collection vinyl release it could be combined with the 50th Anniversary Half Speed Master releases. I am hoping that they release the Off The Ground Archive Collection release in the next year or so!
Michael, they’re still literally hundreds of songs that Paul McCartney has not released since 1970. Instead of him releasing the same albums over and over again he had promised in the 70s to release an album called “hot hits and cold cuts” which would include b sides and unreleased music that has never seen the light of day. Still it’s gathering dust in the vaults. Out of those hundreds of songs that are not released he can’t create maybe an album worth of 20 of the best songs from 1970 to now and put it out. What’s keeping him from doing it?
Yeah, I hear ya Michael! But Paul has always been weird that way! I’m jut glad we got to wonderful albums that are as historical as they are and possibly (fingers crossed!) will be wonderful recordings! He was so in his prime in 1974!❤❤❤
what Lennon and Harrison said about “granny music,” it’s a snide remark, but it remains nonetheless true. All that said? McCartney is amongst the immortals. No doubt.
Latterly, I've been disappointed by Paul's lame releases of stuff we mostly already have. I haven't bought anything by him since McCartney III in 2020. I am looking forward to One Hand Clapping. Best version of Jet with some great drumming. Pity Geoff didn't last too long. His big mistake was not being a druggie. Anyway, I still ask where the London Town/Back to the Egg Archives are.
I heard he was a bully. He used to shove Jimmy around and Jimmy was about ready to get his ass whipped because he didn't want to take it. It was either Jimmy or Geoff. Paul chose Jimmy.
I love crazy session musician stories. My favorite was Double Fantasy before they brought in Jack Douglas & George Small. He had Phil Spector and Nicky Hopkins in there for the piano work. Phil locked himself in a room and Hopkins tried to burn the studio down. 😂
Jeff Brittan didn't like or get along with both Denny Laine and Jimmy McCollough. McCartney soured on his drumming early on in the Venus and Mars sessions. There is an excellent book called Band On The Run that gives a good run down of this period of the group.
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Yes some very detailed insights into the group and personality conflicts between the members. Not too many books out there about Wings but this one was a very good read.
Love your videos . But I just don’t get it. More of the same songs we have heard thousands of times. Why not put out a new album. Or unreleased stuff no one has ever heard.
@@debjorgo True, but it's in very poor quality, and it's missing two songs. "Suicide" and "Junior's Farm". A new, restored edit is supposedly being uploaded to Paul's official UA-cam channel.
@@jameswilson7084 I'm not sure if I even watched the DVD on the Band on the Run release. I was waiting for all the Wings albums to get the deluxe treatment. Then I was going to do a more serious run-through of everything. What is the 'restored edit' you're talking about?
@@debjorgo They supposedly remastered and restored the film. We'll see what that entails after it gets posted. I'm hoping they give the songs a new stereo soundtrack, and without the narration overdubs. Since they just remastered all of the audio, I'd expect this would be fairly easy to do.

He was so in his prime in 1974!❤❤❤
When is your video coming out on Paul McCartney's Hey Jude being Auto tuned. Never thought that would happen.
Suprised the there isn't a DVD/Blu-ray together with the 2 disc cd.
Maybe that's on the horizon.
Yeah Jason, McCartney is a master of milking every last drop of profit from his past! ❤❤❤
what Lennon and Harrison said about “granny music,” it’s a snide remark, but it remains nonetheless true. All that said? McCartney is amongst the immortals. No doubt.
A new Wings album is good news!
Sounds like a good one
Michael.
Oh I love these sessions Royce! They are a must for any Beatle fan! ❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Michael, RIGHT!
I'm going to get the high-resolution digital downloads and maybe the CDs.
I'm getting the CD set
And the really major stuff is on the CD Bob!
I think you’ll be more than happy brother!
I’m really excited for this one!👌👍❤
I think I will Michael, Paul was at the top of his game during that period. I watched the bootleg film and really enjoyed it.
Jeff Brittan didn't like or get along with both Denny Laine and Jimmy McCollough. McCartney soured on his drumming early on in the Venus and Mars sessions. There is an excellent book called Band On The Run that gives a good run down of this period of the group.
A very good book Deacon! And very detailed and accurate I might add! ❤❤❤
@@MichaelNoland-TheBottomLine Yes some very detailed insights into the group and personality conflicts between the members. Not too many books out there about Wings but this one was a very good read.
I’m more excited for the John Lennon Mind Games box set than this one…
Yeah me too Marcus, in my original edit of this video, I even mentioned that! ❤❤❤
Love your videos . But I just don’t get it. More of the same songs we have heard thousands of times. Why not put out a new album. Or unreleased stuff no one has ever heard.
Okay...now Paul's not dead...but he ain't learned NOTHIN' IN all those years......
I'm getting the CDs. Pissed about the bonus tracks only on the 7".
Yeah, I agree Deb! ❤❤❤
Why Can't I get a s deluxe CD? I also would really like a Blu-ray of what was filmed even more.
The DVD of One Hand was included in the Band on the Run deluxe edition.
Oh me too WhyteMonkee! ❤❤❤
But it's not a rock band, it's ez listening.
It's wings
..meh.
Nothing special
