I thought it was cool to see Ellie all grown up and kicking ass like she did in the first game Saddens me to see so many hateful comments about ellie kissing another woman being some sort of agenda to push something onto the consumers. If she went into the world waving a rainbow flag and with a rainbow patch on her jacket, id agree it'd be a too much, but she doesn't. People forget that the world they live in especially Ellie's world, concepts of love are almost non existent. That's why kissing Riley in left behind was a big deal, because Ellie loved Riley. They never had someone tell them how to show someone you love them that's just what they did because they felt it was right. It's also what makes Ellie and Joel's relationship so real and so good because they grow to love each other like family. Listen to what Jesse said to Ellie when he approached her, he calls Joel Ellies "old man " so it shows these people see the closeness between the two as father and daughter These are grounded, flawed characters people.
