What's the rationale for separating the lunge pattern from the squat pattern? I am curious because many would think that the lunge pattern is a variation of the squat pattern rather than a separate one. Thanks
Hey! Thank you for the question! The two patterns from the video are the “Squat” Pattern and the “Single Leg” Pattern. A lunge would fall under the SL Pattern. While they both share similarities, separating them allows for a more nuanced approach to assessments and progressions of exercises. Through assessment we often see an individual could perform one of these patterns well while lacking more in another. Hope that helps clear it up a bit!
