First time hearing this version. I think I like it more than the album version. Check that, I know I like this version better, and this was already a top 5 Cars song for me. Those guitars!

They were all Cars cover songs. It was awesome, even though it wasn't the real Cars. I'm sure this was one of the songs they played. Thanks for the great memories!
My first job, working at a diner as a bus boy. They had those JukeBoxes on each booth... you pay the quarter and select a few tunes and it gets played throughout the diner. And this was how I discovered The Cars (and other bands at the time). If I recall, late 1979 or thereabouts. A great time to grow up with all the music. We were really spoiled. I mean, we all the Zep, Pink Floyd, all that type of stuff, but the pop music was really great too. Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Chic, AC DC, Van Halen, and did I mention the really good pop music... endless. To me, The Cars were first of a new style of music.. that New Wave music thing, and they really set the tone for what would follow in the 80s.

That was my first introduction to them and liked them immediately. Let the Good Times Roll and Just What I Needed were ear candy to me.
I like the Polish of the Album track. But as a much older individual, you can see where the end game of creating a Sound Environment, that lasts a whopping 23:43, seamlessly, in Candy-O, cannot really be Approached before and since. I used to love the Musicladen dvd.
