JT's bass lines are truly impressive and they all prove themselves a cut above generic pop star status with their musicianship. One thing always overlooked, I think are Simon's lyrics, which are so abstract and have aged quite well in my opinion 🤔
Thank you for this! Interestingly they didn’t show much of John in this at all!! I love his backing vocals in Hold back the rain too☺️🥰☺️🥰The cameramen had no idea they missed a huge opportunity!! ❤❤❤❤❤
In all honesty, me too! But their music kept me intrigued and interested! John Taylor was irresistibly gorgeous!! They all were but he was beyond beautiful!! 😍
John Taylor was always a beast of a bassist no question in fact the whole band are great players though Nick lets the Sequencer take over a lil too much. Simon was on Eppy's plane and Island I was sad to learn though love this band!
whats with all the terrible editing during Rio...makes it a bit difficult to enjoy when the song keeps jumping from one part to the next ,its like this was edited by a junior high AV club FFS
Let me to tell you 2 things: 1.- Duran Duran is MUCH MORE than this man. 2.- This man does not have value outside the band. Gretings from this duranie since 1983 , so I know what I am talking about.
Wow. As a bassist myself AND as a Duranie of at least as many years as you, yours is easily the single most IDIOTIC comment I've ever read on ANY platform on any subject. To say John has no value outside the band shows you know less than nothing. You don't deserve to know why.
The OP has bass in the name so I would suggest they are highlighting a bassist they admire. And I am a Duranie since Planet Earth was released in 1981. Checkmate
When I was a kid I really dug them. But I did not know why. It was the bass all that time that drew me in.... Thank you Mr Taylor!
Same here. Said the same thing the other day
The bass line is what made me a fan and it's what keeps me a fan to this day.

John Taylor was and still is one of the best bass players out there ,great guy too
He was just a kid and really amazing. It's a trip.
Most important part of the band - JT is so underrated as a bass player, also have an Aria SB1000 great bass.
Always been a fan of Duran Duran ❤❤❤❤

So many awesome bass lines but Rio is simply tour de force!!!
Thank you, a potential great video screwed up by your editing. Congratulations and thank you again! 👏
fabulous editing. thanks heaps.
Looks like the orginal video was over 42 min and the only show JT for 7 min. The life of a bass player
During that sax solo I concentrate really hard to block the sax so I can listen to the bass because it's brilliant.
this is hilarious and i play bass ty dude
When I was 11 years old in 1982, I wanted to marry this guy. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Aria bass is so cool😎
OG Bass Slayer-John Taylor

Simon was on the island??? He sure doesn't seem to be a bad guy, we'll see what happens with that
Founding-member power! John Taylor.
🙌 go John!! Woo hoo! 🎸 Happy New Year 2025 🤣 🎇✨
He sure did get a bass sound that stands out. What kind of amps did he use???
Pretty sure he used Peavey fur a very long time. If you’re into equipment You should check out his Dingwall signature bass!
This make his lines sound all the same, just different speeds depending on the song

He has nothing on Mick Karn.
Cortas el video cada 4 segundos buu.Horrible video. 😂😂

@@jenbarrymore8553same 1981 and the band wouldn’t be the same without JT and his bass lines
The same applies to all of them, and most people in most bands.
Always been a fan of Duran Duran ❤❤❤❤
