All this time I thought these guys figured out how to "Machinimise" Battlefront II on their own just as Burns and company did with Red vs Blue. I had no idea they had access to proprietary "Machinimating" tools from their tenure at Pandemic Studios, now it makes sense given the lack of alternate Battlefront II Machinimas, I can't name one off the top of my head.
Had they done season 2 they would have start their own versions of shows. Ashame they never got a chance and I watch their show when I was 12 and 13 years old.
Im so glad I found this channel and there are still people out there remembering this series. You've done a very well documentary on all of this, I didn't even know the creator behind this series was also one of the big boys in the game industry. I hope your channel will go far one day. Also I think the red clone trooper they showed in Season 2 trailer could have been Captain Fordo from the micro series called Star Wars Clone Wars 2003.
Thanks for the overview and update of info on this show, yea it might never come out but that never ment i stoped hoping, learning that they actually were able to machinimate the through offical dev tools honestly would have given them such a edge and they might have been able to make something of their own if they hadnt been busy and ya know UA-cam screwing them over. This is such a great video and honestly its one of the reasons i love it when people make such in depth looks at such niche things on youtube, wish youd get more views on it. In any case hope you keep making videos of the things you enjoy.
I remember this series so much when I was younger. It brought good memories and I was deeply saddened and annoyed after years of nothing coming out of the developed trailers. This could of been the great Red vs Blue comedy for Star Wars and now it's not coming out nor any acknowledgment of it as time passes on. The creators have forgotten and don't care anymore and it is left in a void alone. Thank you for covering this as a documentary. Even though the views are small I greatly appreciate your commitment to effort and stating what you think could of have happened with season 2. If only it was released or given to somebody who would take up the torch.
@@theRyanMJames Well whatever it you ain't explaining what really happened to Clone Apart very well because you kept it vague. And the fact it has been this many years shows how well you guys have been dealing with it which is not very well.
@@theRyanMJames May I ask you then: Would you allow someone else to take the torch of A Clone Apart and keep the legacy going? I'm sure given how so many people have loved Season 1 there's a group out there willing to take the mantle and make it better, considering the years of advancements in filming and video editing technology. Heck, should host a competition to see who's the best qualified! Have a competition of contestants to do Season 2 Episode 1. Winner gets to do all of Season 2 and beyond! PS, never knew you guys did Mercenaries 2 World In Flames! That's one of my all time cult favorites. Number three, only topped by Atari's RCT franchise and High Moon's War For/Fall Of Cybertron duology (I do not count Rise Of The Dark Spark). Mad respect!
@@theRyanMJames So complicated that you couldn't figure it out in literally THIRTEEN YEARS by now? I'd respect you guys more if you just admitted you shelved the series a literal decade ago now.
@@theRyanMJamesIt’s an honor to see you here, but yeah it’s been way too long, unless Naughty Dog has been working you relentlessly and nonstop, then yeah it’s odd how it feels like you and your brother dropped this entirely, just curious and if you’re willing to answer my question, that being if you’re still on good terms with the main cast
God, I love A Clone Apart... I will wish for a Season 2 until the day I die, knowing it will most likely never come. Same for a 'remaster' of the first season-- effectively recreating it in HD and maybe with some new, more dynamic camera angles, movements, and 60fps.
It breaks my heart we haven’t heard anything about acá it’s super nostalgic to me I would watch it over and over when I was little wasting hours as an 8 year old scouring the internet for season 2 not knowing all that I know now and I have even avoided watching it again because I know I’ll get that nostalgic feeling in my chest and that heavy feeling where I still feel like that lost little kid looking for that piece of happiness I love that show it made my childhood I love Star Wars and I would always go to alpha novas UA-cam channel looking for updates on acá not knowing he was a phony this is an awesome video man
Honestly super infuriating that there probably was at least half of season 2 floating around on someone’s computer and it never got handed off to someone that could have finished it
My best friend in elementary school told me about this series at lunch one day back when it was only three episodes. We’d watch them all the time, and were always so enthralled with how they managed to do everything they did (who’d have guessed they had a dev kit?). Time came and went, and I had no clue they had even more episodes come out in 2011. Such a shame the rest of the series never came out, I would have loved to see it. I’m sure if it was released today it’d still be a huge hit considering how popular the game still is, not to mention how far we’ve come in terms of tech. Ryan, if you’re out there; we need closure bro!
You know this reminds me of the guy who made the marvel zombies series where he also didn't release the rest of the series but the difference is when he finished it it got wiped from his computer and never bothered with it again and honestly still makes me upset to this day but at least a clone apart has a chance to come back in the future
By the way the guy i was talking about was pacoslimee i even told him about his series and unfortunately said it wont continue. it just isn't fair to see good hard work wasted 😢
I remember stumbling on this series and absolutely loving it. So much so I even tried reaching out to the original creators if I could make Halo version of a Ep 1 back when I did machinima. Such good memories and I love rewatching it time to time. "I have a bad feeling about this." "I have a more lukewarm feeling." "I have no feelings." "LET'S KILL THEM ALL! WOHOOO!"
Thank you for this, a great video. Over the years my mind would drift to the vauge memories I had of this series and how good it was, glad to see a history and a bit of background on it even if it never gets completed.
Good shit mayne. This got me thinking of a minecraft machinima series that my sister and I used to watch called Seedlings that also kinda just never got a real ending. Am I the only one that remembers it?
So far really loving this. Can’t wait to finish it. However, Halo 2 didn’t have a Machinima mode. It had the lowered weapon function added by Bungie, and an exploit that would remove HUD, but theater mode wasn’t added until Halo 3.
Thank you so much for making a hole video about this topic, you gave us information I didn’t know before especially how they managed to produce the series. I bet it was a lot of work doing this video so thank you! Maybe one day ACA will return, but I also think it won’t so I’ll handle it by my self and produce the second season of ACA.
After the series went dead and I started collecting some lego star wars minifigures I decided to make recreated the scenes of clips from clone apart in lego version
Crackpot theory, but I think Naughty Dog doesn't want anything to do with Star Wars, so they keep Ryan busy with other projects to keep him as far away from ACA as much as possible.
At this point someone has to make their own ACA, maybe if it gets popular Ryan will see it ? And would likely released season 2 due to this , but it’s all just BS thinking
One nitpick for the video: In Battlefront 2, the Kamino Clone Rebellion does not result in no longer using clones, but rather using a variety of templates. The specific rationale is that cloning from a single template would leave the clones "susceptible to corruption" or some such. Regardless, your point stands that the clones subplot is silly and it was better when stormtroopers were just people who joined up or were drafted. That is one of the few things I like about the sequels; that the First Order troopers are just normies.
