Stefan cel Mare (which Translates to "Stephan the Great") didn't really defeat the Ottomans, but he was able to win some battles.
Moldova in the end did become a Vassal of the ottoman Empire.
The tables in the graveyeard are there because the tradition is to go there with family every year on a specific sunday and you would cheer (usually with wine) to the deads, remembering them and talking to their tombs.
They would also bring some food (something that you eat rapidly and with your handa like placinte) and another interesting fact is that you also leave some food and wine for the dead 😬

Visit Moldova.. just by visiting and spending a few dollars, you will fight Russian autocracy and imperialism.

I’d honestly give anything…I’m in the U.K. and could afford only to support one family from afar 😢 finding those in need and even getting money to them is impossible though - believe me I’ve tried for years ❤️

Moldova is very much like Romania used to be 10-20 years ago not really like Ukraine. Moldovans are really a mix between Romanians and Ukrainians.
Moldovans speak Romanian and have nothing in common with Ukrainians.
