Cuando esta canción fue publicada mi mejor amigo fue a casa para comentar sobre ella, su banda favorita era Metallica, mi artista favorita Shakira, totalmente diferente en gustos musicales, 2 semana después mi amigo tuvo un accidente de transito y falleció, la combinación de Nothing Else Matters con La Despedida hace que hoy en dia sea una canción que me haga recordar a mi amigo y es muy acertada por su partida. "CUANDO ALGUIEN SE VA, EL QUE SE QUEDA SUFRE MAS"

Don't know why some people are tripping. I'm a HARDCORE heavy metal fan, not just Metallica. But I can appreciate and enjoy a latin pop singer singing their song, and not be offended at all. If anything, she's introducing more people to their music, which I love.

What impresses me most, as a long time lover of covers, is that I could swear this always was a Latinx song.
The fact that all the shakira fans are belting out Nothing Else Matters just shows how powerful this song is no matter how the interpretation is.
I remember once going to a party that was next to a Shakira concert, I didn’t go to the concert because I wasn’t that much into Shakira but while outside hanging out I started hearing a familiar sound, I was like “is that nothing else matters? For real?” I was quite pleasantly surprised that Shakira played that song on her shows!

I can see now that people don't fully understand the purpose of a cover. I truly doubt that Shakira ever intended for her version of Nothing Else Matters to be better than the original. At some point in Shakira's life, she rocked out to the sweet melodies of Kirk Hammet and strong voice of despair and passion of James Hetfield. She felt the need and desire put this rock masterpiece in her set in front of HER live audience because the song means something to her. Of course she is going to give the song her own flavor. That's what artist do. And the fact that herself and her entire audience recognize this song as that...a masterpiece, is the greatest credit Shakira and her fans can give to Metallica.
Her version is terrible. Yes, her voice is beautiful but it was definitely NOT meant for a song like this. Trying to pay homage to Metallica by butchering their song isn't the way to go.
Then what is the way to go? Playing the exact instruments and have the same sound as the original? Explain yourself because this is what I call the definition of a good cover.

que ganas de algunos que no saben nada de música en desacreditar el trabajo de la gente; un cover es hecho con el fin de rendir homenaje a esa obra maestra creada anteriormente, y se me hace que el cover funcionó, lo acoplaron a shakira, tiene ese toque andino, una excelente colocación vocal (tecnicas buenas no son solo mariha o whitney, que por cierto no duraron mucho con la tecnica) una excelente musicalización...en fin un muy buen cover colaborado por metálica en los arreglos.

No critico a los músicos, pero su voz siempre me ha sonado muy falsa, la forza demasiado, no soy fan ni seré fan de su música, su voz es un tanto rara, aparte la verdad se siente vacía, como si no transmitirá nada de lo qué realmente habla la canción.

I love this version, as well as the original from Metallica. This song was written by James Hetfield as a love song to his wife. This song is haunting, yet beautiful. Shakira did a great job covering this amazing song in both English and Spanish.
