Thank you Texas Tiger Digs again for your respond , I own a 705 and the AT Pro love both , they both are great machines , I was looking to add one more to my collection I don't have a tesoro or a fisher or a pi for sea detecting . Folks say get rid of what I have and get a Safari does that make sense , what's your take ? I hunt everywhere there is dirt or sand and rocks to my 705 goes really deep and so doe my AT Pro
Just bought a Safari and waiting on it to arrive. I've had 2 Etracs, CTX and Explorer SE. I think I liked the audio of the Se the best and the safari sounds almost identical. I have always hunted by audio anyway and I like the fact that you can switch between conductive and ferrous just with one keystroke. You just cannot beat FBS/BBS for deep silver coins! I've had many machines and I've found 98% of all my silver coins with Explorer or Sovereign.
+wfletch88 I had good luck with the Sovereign as well... You are right Safari is a feel machine much more than the Etrac (which I hve had) and I assume the CTX3030... Its budget minded and you get a great percentage of the function of its big brothers.
Lovely video thank you could you let me know how deep this SAFARI can search ground???if you know any other one which has more 60 cm deep succes search metal detector???thank you look forward to hear from you thank you
One thing to take in to account is the coil also changes the number pattern so whatever coil your using has it's own number pattern be it a 6.5x3.5 coil or 9x5 or 11" coil or a 15" inch coil so if your using a coil other than the 11" inch that comes with the machine disregard the number patterns, each coil has it's own number pattern just saying.🤨
wow! very informative I own a safari as well and have also been dumbfounded by its discrimination abilities, gold rings up all over the place ,and silver usually rings up 38-39 ,I focus on high tones and have dug many quarters ,even silver ones more than dimes because I concentrate on the high squeal quarters and silver makes but as you have proven that's not always the case I wonder how many silver dimes I've left in the ground
ps38292 Yep you just about need to dig everything above 35/36 if you want to avoid missing something if you are just digging high tones/signals ... Its a pain, but I think FBS and its multi-frequency is a little jumpy with a certain range with the Safari, more than the higher end machines aka Etracs (and potentially CTX3030s).
+Dago Digger Sure, there are several good ones, the Safari is one...The Makro Racer (I here version 2 is coming out and offers notch and other enhancements which makes it much more configurable). There are also several very good Fishers in that price range the F75...etc. You can also find a used Etrac sometimes in that range, but the learning curve is steep for that one. To answer your question.. I love the Safari but it is not everyones taste, due to the slow swing speed required. The Makro Racer is a very good detector and there is little doubt the Makro Racer 2 will continue that tradition. And here comes a surprise..to some people.. The AT Pro is a great detector and probably the best at its price point and you will still have money for a pinpointer and a very good digger. In my opinion you don't really get better than the AT Pro until you exceed your $1000 budget.
It is all over the place based on its composition. from 12 to the lower 20's its so wide that you need to dig almost anything that's not iron and specifically anything in that range and that range is flexible as well.
Hello...I'm just about to get my 1st metal detector....My issue isn't money because i don't ant to waste my money & I only want to buy once! HA! My issue is the technical part, I'm really not good at gadgets....I researched 2 machines, the E-TRAC or the White's Spectra V3i Metal Detector ....Then when i called the company they suggested the Safari for easy use....I just don't want to waste all my time on bottle caps & beer tabs.....Would you agree with their suggestion or would you go with the E-TRAC & figure it out?? Thanks! ~ from a newbee ;) Oh & I'm not looking for gold, although who wouldn't love finding a ring or something, just some cool old coins or something....
If you can stand the learning curve the Etrac is a good choice... The Whites Spectra V3i is also a good machine, but some of its biggest features are very depth sensitive and the learning curve is HUGE!!! If you want to come up to speed fast the Safari would be a good Minelab choice... Remember Etrac or Spectra V3i or Safari..the swing speed must be pretty slow... (I use the Deus because I like its fast speed and I lack patience LOL).. Of the ones you mention...Safari would be good and simpler... Etrac would be better but it will take some time to learn all the bells and whistles so initially study and "dumb" it down and only add the extras over time. I am sorry that is confusing but its confusing hobby when you get into the higher or upper mid range of Metal Detectors.
Yea that one sterling ring sounded funny, almost like its plated or filled, i know you said it was marked, just sounded awfull low to me, great test, i see a E-Trac in your future, i know you use to have one, sounds like you might miss it a little bitty bit lol TFS TTD HH !!
MrSaddie123 Out of my price range right now.. I am not sure what's going to come through next, but believe me something else would need to depart first. :D LOL
No but I had a Cortes which is virtually identical except for a couple of bells and whistls and the fact it will ground balance but that only effects all metal. Deleon has no ground balance but other than that not much difference. In my opinion neither goes really deep so if that is what you want you may get disappointed but the do fine in mid depth targets
Gold is painful 14k 10K or 24K, it is based sometime on how the ring is buried and even the condition of the soil.. small rings can be 4 to 5...large rings in the 10-15 range... You can't avoid digging all those signals if you want to find gold of any composition
I don’t agree with you at all the safari is pretty much the same as the etrac but with a lot less settings , The safari is much easier to use , And the etrac is very complicated and very hard to use , If you like spending all your time adjusting your detector and getting frustrated get an etrac , If you want to get on with your detecting and find things get a safari .
As a conductive metal object is brought near to a coil ,eddy currents form in the object, as a function, of the distance ,the material, and the size of the object,, brand new coins of the same denomination will register same ,and within certain parameters all coins will register very close on your coins display , a gold ring and a silver of the same physical size would differ because gold is a denser metal, but silver is the best conductor , always good signal, gold is third in line under copper .so its easy for detector manufacturers to function in there icons on your displays using the formula for resonance, like the ring icon and the coins, and indeed the pull ring, which because its round shaped registers in with the Jewellery .Round objects coins rings will resonate more strongly than other shaped targets in a magnetic field , fortunately that's good for us, even as many of you have found an iron ring is difficult not to dig it, so its the shape as well as conductivity that registers as numbers on or your detector,if the Safari is run in all metal no discrim the depth capabilities would be the same as a CTX.the safari is just easier to use with out the bells and whistles .
+Peter Abbott Agreed, I am not aa believer in the icons as such.. I have found that a 38 that stays a 38 is more likely to be a quarter though it is at times a dime/penny.. I find that 37 to 38 instability is usually indicative of a clad dime or copper penny and with great regularity the "near miss" of a 36 has by experience often been highly conductive junk.. All this varies of course by the location and I have also noted that different coils have different characteristics.. So what does it all come donw to...that magic words that typify all detecting "It Depends" :)
+SS-50-CAL 3232 Thanks, I will try, keep watching its only a matter of time before my finances improve and/or my will power drops and there will be a new detector in the arsenal.
Thankyou, really helpful

Murat Deniz Safari is medium on the depth scale 4 to 6 or so inches. it’s an old detector.
Thank you do you know which metal detector is deepest ???thank you
I own a quattro and it looks exactly the same. What are the differences in capability? I know the processor is faster, but I think that's all.
you didn't elaborate on the "dreaded 40"?
One thing to take in to account is the coil also changes the number pattern so whatever coil your using has it's own number pattern be it a 6.5x3.5 coil or 9x5 or 11" coil or a 15" inch coil so if your using a coil other than the 11" inch that comes with the machine disregard the number patterns, each coil has it's own number pattern just saying.🤨
Thank you 4 that pal...
...so dig everything...GREAT!! Thanx for the video, was very helpful!!
Nice video keep up the great job.
Great video on the Safari, even tho never hunted with it, but do hunt with its big brother the Etrac...lol
HH & GL
Yep Etrac is the smarter more talented older brother. . : )

Hi there Texas Tiger Digs was wondering if you'd have any suggestions for a great metal detector or two for about 1000.00 budget , Thanks Dago Digger

nice video i did see in mexico
how about the id # of a gold?
It is all over the place based on its composition. from 12 to the lower 20's its so wide that you need to dig almost anything that's not iron and specifically anything in that range and that range is flexible as well.
TexasTigerDigs Tech thanks! is that possible that gold may hide in -3 to 0 target id?. i heard that it is wise to dig -3 up.
I guess it possible on very thin gold.. Gold is always prospecting and not detecting unfortunately
I would sure like to see the same test... same targets ... in all metal mode (Ferris). To see if Silver gives better tone to the ears.

lol i understand that, thats the only way my wife lets me get a new toy, if i sell an old one.
Women always practical with the exception of shoes and purses (sometime). LOL
Have you used a Tesoro deleon
No but I had a Cortes which is virtually identical except for a couple of bells and whistls and the fact it will ground balance but that only effects all metal. old nickles will be 13 or 14
Yep I have been told there's a difference.. I don't get much old in my area.. Thanks for giving me the numbers, there's always hoped.
love my safari. but from my experience location is more important than the machine.
Nice test
forest stinnett Trying to figure out how to turn a coin machine into a good jewelry machine as well...
24k gold target id please

Safari is just an automatic version of e-trac...without smartfinder
