No it’s not. If win, the portal will continue to fill gaps at WR. There’s a ton of WR’s out there.
@@daxlkelm75 I'm not counting the portal in the "class." You're right that we'll be fine at WR, but this staff getting worked over this badly is staggering.

@@Hookah_Horns it’s not the staff. It’s NIL. There’s no rules and our BMDs at the end of the day don’t want to keep footing the bill. Texas fans have to step up and donate. Also, one winning season and one playoff doesn’t make us a contender yet. Texas has to continue to prove itself. This was the first real winning season most of the recruits have witnessed. All will fall into place…if we keep winning. Be patient.

Even if this class becomes top 5 it does not mean that there does not be structural changes made with the recruiting philosophy. It seems that the coaching staff is leaving a small margin for error which eventually catches up to you. Their needs to be a complete overhaul from top to bottom with recruiting. Think about it. We won the Big 12, went to the CFP, won the Directors Cup, joined the SEC, have a top 3 NIL, and have the most recognizable brand in college football. If not now to have a top recruiting class than when?

I’ve been super anxious too. Is what it is. Texas needs to invest time to recruit better nationally for interior DL. There just aren’t that many and too many in Georgia.

@@corypeacock556 Texas will be fine man. They are still cooking hot at literally every spot minus DT. DJ sanders will be a big get and player. You can grab a transfer or two next go around. Sarks killing it at qb too. It’s not that bad with the big picture.
The three reasons that Texas is losing out in these recruiting batles is #1) potential playing time #,2) NIL. And #3 ) new coaching hires. Texas lost out on dakorian moore brcause he would have to sweat and compete against jonntae cook, ryan wingo, deandre moore and future enrollee jaime ffrench.. he saw the wr room and ran for the money. Riley Pettijohn made the same calculated decision. except his was based on losing a valuable recruiter in jeff choate. Finally, we lost out to Bo Davis who finally decided to recruit but it was when he landed in LSU. Texas ran into unfortunate winds this recruiting cycke but a good perfotmance on the field will yield great results in recruiting fir 2026. The class of 2025 is doa ( dead on arrival).
It Texas continues down this dark path, it could lead to Arch looking in a new direction.

Something weird is going on with recruiting. I think Sarks philosophical approach to recruiting in this NIL world has been figured out and countered by competitors and Texas needs to reassess the stipulations they require of recruits to get their NIL. Something is very wrong with recruiting right now. This is embarrassing.

Why do you have NIL if you don’t use it. Who cares how much you pay these guys, who cares. Pay them big time and get some players for 2025. And what is PK doing in all of this? Something is bad wrong.
Remember.... If you pay a 2025 kid big, they tell a 2026 kid he's gonna want the same or more when they might not be as good. That's a bad precedence set
How much have you donated to the collective? I assume ZERO. You pay them big, then you have to pay other current players big and future players big.
