Let’s hope this kid doesn’t break in the long term with the amount of pressure the media and the fans already putting on this kid is insane and he hasn’t stepped a foot on the NBA court yet. I get that he is the #1 pick but still. Hopefully he no long term injuries and best wishes for this kid to succeed to the highest level in the league.

We do this every year, it's ridiculous. Look at Zion, they called him a future hall of fame at one point, that skinny kid in okc last year had all kinds of hype, snapped his leg when LeBron did a layup. Vw just needs to stay healthy and play and add a few pounds to bang. He's not big enough to be center, he's gotta play like kd to get buckets. I hope the best but you gotta be built like a man to be successful long term. He does look a little more filled out at least so hopefully he can build more strength and not snap in half. Then we can start having high hopes.

I would think that fast, crisp ball movement would be key for opposing teams. You can’t shoot over him, but he can’t be everywhere at once, so keeping him out of position on defense would seem to be important. One advantage for him against guys like Jokic would seem to be that San Antonio won’t need to double team him with Wemby on the floor. However, Wemby hasn’t played against anyone with the sheer strength and bulk of Jokic, so that may cause him problems. Jokic has that fallback loopy shot in close, which is hard to guard. Of course, Wemby can stop anything on the way down, but that’s goal-tending. Should be interesting.

He has natural gifts, incredible talent, his head is on straight - years ahead of his age, he's got solid influencers around him (no worries of him getting into trouble ala Ja or Zion), he's been planning for this transition, he's ready to learn, AND he's determined to win NBA titles BUT knows he needs to be patient and the transition will take time. Wemby right now is just 10 pounds lighter than Porzingis, so in 4-5 years, in his prime he will easily be like 250-270 pounds like Gobert or AD.

Victor Wembanyama seems to have the skills and he really young at 19 years old but now he coming to the NBA a totally different environment so yes, he's been injuries free but he hasn't banged with grown men in the NBA. When Jay Bilas said Victor reminds him of Ralph Sampson maybe so but the player that comes to mind for me is Yao Ming. A lot of tall NBA players that over 7ft get hurt a lot and don't have a long career and Victor frame doesn't seem be close to NBA ready he looks pretty small other than his height.
