Munsters Goofs and Fun Facts

- In this video I look at fun facts, goofs, bloopers, and cool trivia from the classic TV series the Munsters starring Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster, Al Lewis as Grandpa Count Dracula, Yvonne Decarlo as Lily Munster, Pat Priest and Beverly Owen as Marilyn , and Butch Patrick as Eddie.
The Munsters was a comedic look at classic movie monsters the Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, and on occasion monsters like the Wolf Man.
The show ran for two years in the 1960's and as stayed in re-runs ever since. In this video I analyze moments on the show where goofs were visible such as crewmen staring at the actors, a person walks by in the dark, a hand comes out of nowhere, and Grandpa ducks out the corner of the screen after turning into a bat. I also look at Herman Munster's height and weight and which Munster belonged to the Pat Boone fan club. I also take a look at a goof featuring Grandpa's famous hot rod the Drag-U-La.

the bloopers give another valid reason to revisit old shows. no one should see it as disrespectful.
Thanks!😀
This has been a very refreshing visit to a less stressful time. I still love these shows! I still watch them, too. Now, i will look for the goofs i missed! Many thanks.
I hope you all have a good laugh with these Munsters goofs I found. 😀
Thank you, tvcrazyman! I most certainly did! Keep up the good work, bro!
At 5:45 when Herman is twirling around I was expecting him to turn into Wonder Woman. That would have been incredible.
Not to mention hilarious! Thanks for commenting, @@Colorado_Native!
@@demetriusdillard2863 Thanks for the reply. I always loved the Munsters and the Flintstones. It would be hilarious if somebody with editing skills could turn Herman into Lynda. Anybody?
You're very welcome, @@Colorado_Native! Who doesn't love "The Munsters" and "The Flintstones"? I'd rather either of those classic programs instead of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and "Real Housewives Of (Insert City Of Your Choice Here)" any day of the week! Enjoy your evening, bro!
Never Saw The Episode With Mr Haney & Son Now I Got Find It --- Thanks A Lot !
Best episode ever! 😀
Lol, grandpa's nose disappears and Herman "flips his wig."
Herman’s secret? He’s bald and wears a toupee, is an awesome thought
classic show, bloopers only makes it better!
Nice, The scene of somebody to the left after Herman comes out of the stairs is a child. This is probably because they had tour groups going through. And a child simply walked in and then walked across the back of the set. If you look closely, you can see that it is in fact, a child.
Herman Munster is a Extra Class Ham Radio operator (W6XRL4) in Herman Calls a Martian he is actually registered with the FCC since Jan 21 1963. Also, even though his singing "In my Mother's eyes" is wonderful, it is in violation of part 95 rules.
No one can actually say Darn Darn Darn like Herman Munster
I like the Addams Family but yet I love the Munsters most of all. Grandpa is actually a full blooded Dracula but yet he has a reflection in the mirror and also he never burns up in the sun.
Li love these behind-the-scenes and goof videos! Thanbks!
The scene with dragula, its a stunt double and he also is outside the car just before the guys remove the parachute. Herman holds fake grandpa's hand and they walk off.
02:00 I think you missed the mysterious fishing rod flying over Munster's head; probably used to keep the trunk open.
Interesting.
Much Love for The Munsters.
Al Lewis dumped the nose because everytime he took a slip from his coffee cup the nose would get wet and melt.
That makes sense. I figured it had something to do with it falling off or being uncomfortable.
@@tvcrazymanGreat video with great memories , thanks!
Great video, always enjoy them and especially this Musters one!
The Munsters was the Funniest Show on Television. 😄
One of the best is The Munsters, Thank You for these special clips 🙂🙂
Of course Grampa can see his reflection. How else is he supposed to shave in the morning? 😉
Do vampires shave though?
A house divided is the episode where Herman's head flipped its lid
Great great video as always. Keep the goofs coming. Best UA-camr ever
Awesome! Thanks a lot!
Ha, good ones. I love blooper vids and these are ones I've never seen before which is rare, thanks.
Glad you like them!
I thought Herman was going to turn into Wonder Woman when he spun around lol.
06:47 Mr. Haney must have been slumming!
New goof tim I watch that when I was kid
Cool!
Love my Munsters!!!!😮
JAKE'58......
This was fun to watch. My all time favorite show from when I was a kid!
I used to watch it every day after school when it came on.
If grandpa and Lily are vampires where are there fangs?
Sometimes in movies you only see fangs when they are about to vamp out and attack.
Great stuff! I've loved this show for the past 40+ years. So good.
Thank you, Tvcrazyman. This was fun! 😅
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dragula was the only car that could play "Oh Promise Me" in second gear
At 2:00 - 2:01 for a slpit second in the upper left corner of the screen, you can see some sort of pole most likely with a string attached to set off the car falling apart.
Yup. More Munsters Goofs and Fun Facts please. Maybe Addams Family for a future goofs and fun facts?
THANK YOU 👍
You are welcome!
Great feedback and still love the Munsters today.
8:36 After acting for a number of years Robert Easton became one of the most famous dialect coaches in Hollywood and is known throughout the entertainment industry.
Thank you for making these. Always love the blooper videos!👍
Appreciate it.
@@tvcrazyman hi from New Zealand! once again mate I really appreciate what you do. I have the Munsters on DVD as well -just spotted another goof in the hermans lawsuit one-there is a large aerial or something in the top left of the frame (when you’re talking about his hair piece falling off ) I assume it must be something like a trigger wire because the car falls to pieces Have a look and see what you think.😊
These bloopers gave me a good laugh lol
What a treat! Love it! Thanx! 😂
Aww man! I want a Cocoa Beach tank top 😎👍👍👍
i got that years ago at Cocoa Beach.😀 I was hoping to run into Jeannie which I didn't but they name some of the streets after the show if I remember right.
Amazing work sir!! I salute you!🎉
Thank you very much! I appreciate that. 😀
A goof that happens a lot outside the show is that people refer to Grandpa as "Grandpa Munster." He's actually Count Dracula, Lily's father. Herman's last name is Munster, not Grandpa's.
Very true.
Great info👍👍😄😄
I love trivia and goofs. I’m glad I discovered your channel 👍🏼
Thanks, I appreciate it!
@TVcrazyman - i am in awe everytime i watch your bloopers. Can you give your secret as to how you catch these crazy moments, please? Not that i any of us could do what you do. How do you have such an eagle eye? How do you catch bloopers that happen so subtly and QUICKLY!? I love them all.
I may have missed some of your episodes.
Have you done Adam-12?
I research first, then I go through my DVD collection looking for those things I found mentioned in my research, then sometimes I find some more goofs during that process just going through the shows episode by episode. I have not done Adam-12 yet, but I do love that show. Thanks so much!😀
@@tvcrazyman Thank you for doing all the hard work for our entertainment!
I can not imagine how massive your DVD collection is.
Loved it loved it brings back memories,, thanks,,,
Glad you enjoyed it
At 4:16 I’m wondering if they allowed it in for one of two reasons or both A: they didn’t have the budget to go back and fix it when they may be discovered it later, or B: televisions cropped it out, especially the older ones that had more circular screens.
Always great content
Another crazy production, Crazyman! Thanks.
08:11 But do not show this portion again....will scare the kids out there! 😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
It wouldn't have been possible, but in the '70s I wanted to see an SNL crossover sketch where the Munsters meet the Coneheads.
Great stuff and still one of my favorites. Another trivia (but probably well known) is that Munsters cars were designed and built by the late, great master craftman George Barris who builted cars for the monkees, green hornet, and practically all the batman movies and the original series.
He built a lot of cool TV cars I would love to own.😀
I think he also built truck for The Beverly Hillbillies and other shows also.
@hydrolito
Yes there was a whole book made on his work. he was the only person doing that type of specialty vehicle work at the time.
Dean Jeffries built The Monkeemobile, not Barris.
@sfpincchicago
Oops, thanks for the correction. 👍
Munsters sometimes have visitors which are regular people to explain other people in room or another room. Makeup on Grandpa's face would protect from sun exposure. Some allege Eddie is a werewolf so did Lily make-out with her brother the wolfman?
Hmmmm ....don't go there!😮
At around 7:27 his shoes are supposed to not be on fire anymore. But you can still see a flame between his shoes.
05:23 If I remember correctly, Grandpa was looking at his reflection because he hadn't realized that he had changed back from being a horse.
Absolutely loved the Munsters one of my favourite shows of all time 😀
Mine too!
As kids we loved the Munsters, too. We took a trip to Universal Studios, and we walked around the set, and my mom took pictures of my brother, sister, and I standing with wax dummies of Herman and Lilly. I wonder where those pictures are now ...
not a goof, but as a kid I never noticed the Marilyn swap.
I don't think I noticed either when I was a kid. They do look a lot a like.
Great video, tvcrazyman.
Thanks!
TELL me I didn’t just hear you say “irregardless”!
Didn't think about it much when I was saying it but will pay attention to that word next time. 😀
The actor (Irwin Charone) that played Lily's brother, Leonard (the wolfman) was also on a few episodes of Bewitched, like the episode called "Super Car" as Mr. Sheldrake. I thought that the scenes with Leonard were hilarious when he got to meet the family.
They also misspelled "brown" on Herman's driver's license and wrote over the mistake with a pen..and still didn't get it right. 🤣
Loved The Munsters ...Why can't they make TV shows that good anymore?
I think back then most of their focus was on getting as big an audience as possible so naturally to do that they had to focus on entertaining the audience. Plus, the actors I think more often came from humble backgrounds and could relate to the average person more. But, whatever the reason, it's definitely true, they don't make them like they used to.
What's the thing, looks like a fishing pole, comes down just after 2:00? (top left corner)
Someone here said it triggered the car wreck, that's probably it.
7:44 Brown is also misspelled, then corrected with pen
8:03 Grandpa is Lilly's father... (Wolfman is her brother) never knew why she called him Grandpa, Herman did too... Probably for Eddies sake.
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing this compilation of goofs from "The Munsters"! I enjoyed every minute of it! Keep up the good work, bro!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I most certainly did, @@tvcrazyman! Keep up the good work and keep those videos coming, bro!
Awesome video
Thanks!
Beverly Owen and Pat Priest were so pretty.
Herman flipped his wig! 01:51
The show might have purposely misspelled Heights ... Just in case there is a place.
Could be. You never know. 😃
You forgot in Herman picks a winner, that's not him walking down the side of the building...
ough = cough, rough, and dough. aughter = laughter, daughter. Spelling in English is a NIGHTMARE that is filled with more goofs than you would ever want to a make video for, so being gracious about spelling booboos, is might reasonable.
Fun video.
Thanks
Yvonne De Carlo was drop dead gorgeous!
Seeings you got your Cocoa Beach shirt on you could do I dream of Jeannie next? Or maybe you already did? Thanks for the vid!
Haven't yet, but I will likely do a video on Jeannie at some point. That's a favorite of mine.
Thanks!!!!@@tvcrazyman
Nothing to do with the show, but Herman's license reminded me that when I was 11 years old, we moved from 1316 Hill St, to 3213 13th road. Wonder if that had anything to do with me getting in trouble when I was a kid? 🤣
If I believed in bad luck I would have been scared. 😀
Check this out, at 2:01 there's like a rope that shows up then vanishes pretty cool.
In the episode, "Hermans Lawsuit", Herman is soaking wet as he lay in the puddle. When he stands up he is bone dry!
At 2:00 Did you not see that Fishing Rod looking thing at the top left side of the screen over Herman's head. It comes into scene and disappears quickly... Probably part of the car dismantling? Stay safe... Rico
Yeah, I did see it after I posted the video, actually. Weird looking thing. I do wonder how that is involved with the car crash effect. Thanks
@@tvcrazyman - Thoroughly enjoyed your upload... Thumbs up from me as usual... Stay safe... Rico
I love the munsters❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😅
😀
The Munsters had nothing on my family; You'd want to be good and ripped for an evening at home with my parents~
i wonder if CBS will have ALL the episodes colorized
I don't know, but I think it would be neat to have the option to watch them in color as well as black and white.
It just wasn't height, spelled incorrect, but brown'e', spelled wrong. So, if Grandpa's son is a Wolfman' and Lily, who is like her dad, a vampire. Isn't that the same oddity, as a vampire, and a Frankenstein's monster, having a wolf boy?? Actually, it makes more sense, that Lily's Brother would be, the father, of Eddie?? But luckily, they're not in the region of the US, where that's prevalent😏…………
About a third of the way in. When the car sort of explodes in the st. What is that pole that appears briefly at the top left of the picture? 😳🤔
I'm not sure, other than I believe it triggers the car falling apart.
What about the other mistakes on that ID card...
"Buttram" takes a short "u."
I think Grandpa would have made a good Penquin.
He probably would have. I think somebody even referred to him as a giant penguin once on the show.
Any word on when Rob Zombie is coming out with his version of The Munsters?
It's on DVD now.
Production valve and continuity mistakes are funny 😁 but inevitable due to the low budgets and speed each episode was created
Any bloopers in the one where Herman gets disfigured?
I think it's titled "Not just another pretty face."
Don't know, but there's probably something there waiting to be found.
Have the DVD box set. Wish they would stop trying to redo it it never works and Rob Zombies version was a disaster. I preferred The Munster's over the Adams Family just didn't see the big deal about them really.
I wish they would do it again, but with a focus on doing it like the original, only in color. They just need to get really good actors and writers with a sense of comedy like the 60's. Probably impossible these days, but I do wish something new would come out that is good. I mean I love re-runs, but something of good quality that is new would be nice on occasion. Until then, there is the DVD sets of shows like the Munsters.
❤😂
Height is spelled correctly. Unless, you were talking about the address.
Yes. 😀
Height IS spelled correctly!
Didn’t grampa blow his nose off?
Height 7:36 is spelled correctly.
which makes it stranger that they misspelled Heights as Hights on the address line 😀
7:44 'Height'... looks correct to me... how do you spell 'Height'... ???
That part is correct. It's the "Hights" in the address that is usually spelled "Heights" 😀
@@tvcrazyman Actually hights is an older version of heights... so not incorrect...
Interesting. I never heard of that before. All I can say is that I always see it spelled as Heights. So, that makes it a bit of interesting trivia I guess.@@Genevieve111
@@tvcrazyman well that's what I saw on Google... take it with a grain of salt I suppose...
I remember reading how Grandpa's fake nose resulted in Al Lewis not being able to drink from any cup/glass without it getting damaged//wet, causing time-consuming makeup retouching. Also, some studio exec seriously remarked that the fake nose made Al Lewis "look too Jewish". Al understandably got pissed-off at both the anti-Semitic remark and the exec who said it.
I thoroughly enjoy your video, but at 6:28 you say the word irregardless, that is not a word, the word is regardless.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
No, they didn't misspell "height". What does YOUR dictionary say?
I was actually referring to "Mockingbird Hights" they used on the address line. It's spelled, "Heights" everywhere else I've seen it, unless there are 2 ways of spelling it, which could honestly be the case.
@@tvcrazyman For the life of me, I can't stop being so impulsive. Apologies. You're absolutely right!
No problem Thanks for watching and commenting.@@cainealexander-mccord2805
Height is spelled correctly.
On the address. Mockingbird Heights would be correct.
