Ridley - Jari's definitely focused more on the vocals and orchestrations on the last 2 albums, I guess the fans from the early days just miss the guitar work.
I prefer the version with orchestrations, but once in a while it's fun to listen a version which is like a local band with a limited budget playing stuff with only the basic gear they got and a composer who's gone completely mad with the songs
Simon K - I use either Cubase or Adobe Premiere, depending on convenience. You can also use the free version of Audacity to import the tracks and do what you like with them.
I don't mind the synths and orchestral pieces in metal songs, but it just shouldn't be as much in your face as they are on the normal Time I album... I do actually miss them slightly here, but on the other hand it's SO much better being able to hear the other instruments.
Drugoli Knight - I know what you mean, I think of it on a song by song basis; I think 'Spring' sounds better without the orchestrations and I think a lot of parts in 'Sons of Winter and Stars' sound better without them (it's nice to be able to hear the damn riffs!). But I think Winter, Autumn and Land of Snow and Sorrow sound better with the orchestrations.
I actually waited for someone to upload such a remix, because this is how Time I could have sounded like if it were released in 2006. But I think the music strangely misses something... some of the parts are clearly written to be very orchestra-based and sound in this version kinda lame in my opinion. What do you think?
Martin Schürmann - Definitely, the songs were largely based around the orchestrations, it's what often drives the melody. It's nice to hear Time I in a more primitive form, but it's kinda empty.
But it's possible to make a kinda 2006 version if you cut the isolated tracks in pieces and just use some parts like the clean part (part III). Btw check out my mix of sons of winter and stars. There aren't that many obvious changes but the beginning and the end definitely are. :)
Tobias Krückl - Your mix was awesome! I plan on uploading the songs without certain tracks entirely at first, then I may start to make my own mixes to achieve the sort of effect you're talking about.
People fail to realize that Wintersun isn't just guitar shredding, orchestrations and Jari's vocals is what sets the band apart from everything.

I prefer the "full" version with orchestra, but this one is a bit heavier and I really appreciate that I can hear all the amazing guitar work fully!
I don't know why Jari was so unsatisfied with this guitar tone, I think it sounds fucking killer.
Do the 2.0 version, with weaker synth audio

Epic guitarwork!
I have chills right now.
Those riffs, man.
9:41 - 10:32 I could break my neck head banging to this.
Btw also a cool mix is only orchestra + melody guitars
Tobias Krückl - Damn right! I like just the orchestrations and vocals too, somehow seems even more epic.
How do you mix the isolated Tracks together? What programm do you use for it

Thank you:)
this is delicious, thanks for the uploads
Wow really cool that you upload that!

Soo...much...better!!!!
This is amazing
Killer riff should have been without orchestrations. Sounds so good "clean" like this.

Just finished my Time 2006 mix! Doesn't sound like there's sth missing at all! But it doesn't sound like the album version either :D

Did they forget the "acoustic" guitar track?
Not as epic.
1:09 Well that was unpleasant
