In my opinion this EP really isn't as good as Chameleons fans with have you believe. Doesn't really stand up to anything from SOTB, Strange Days or the Peel Sessions which are truly incredible. Also The Healer sounds WAY too much like Mad Jack. Seriously lacking in originality.
Totally agree. Im a huge chameleons fan but this EP isn't as good as their previous work :/ "Denims and Curls" is a decent song but the rest is just standard in my opinion. But not as bad as their fourth studio album "Why Call It Anything ?"... btw the Album is called "Strange Times" not "days" ;)
@@dazzer7986 Personally 'Is it any wonder?' stands well above the other tracks to me. And in all fairness it has actually become one of my favourite songs from them. I'm aware that it's Strange Times, I even have a shirt of the album cover (And the original pink border press on vinyl). Always get it mixed up for whatever reason.
The weak point is The Healer for me. I find it a bit irritating to listen to. That said, Is It Any Wonder is actually fantastic and extremely beautiful. Best track on this EP and one of their finest works overall.
I disagree , is it any wonder and denims and curls are definitely some of the best of the chameleons catalog. Free for all and The healer hold their own as great chameleons tracks as well. It’s hard to compare a 4 song ep to their first 3 albums which were each masterpieces in their own right, but I believe it’s definitely just as good as anything they put out prior.
