Remember the day I walked in to a record store and bought the album (Vinyl) and the fact of waiting to get home on a subway looking at every inch of the album inside out was a treat and so excited when I finally got home and put this on my record player and then copying the whole album on a maxwell 90 min cassette to play on my walkman was amazing times and till this day the chameleons have been played daily and on my playlist!!!!At 58 yrs old with a mind of an 18th yr old thanks guys for getting me thru good and bad times

I discovered them on the 90's. Some of their songs are among the greatest. One of my sons (15) loves this band also!! ... as well as Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, The Smiths.... We are from Spain.
Glad you liked it. We actually shot this promo (+ Monkeyland) in a small recording studio in Stockport (near Manchester). The band were a little nervous at firsat but, as you can see, all present were blown away by their performances.
There's an cool, interesting video pulsating effect going on in the closeups of Mark. Is that just the sound waves affecting the physical film or was it something done intentionally?

We just saw them a couple of weeks ago. They performed "Strange Times," and some other hits and deep cuts. Phenomenal, transporting, endearing. Fantastic songs, as always. I couldn't hold the moment in. Thank you, Chameleons.
I bought this record because it was in the import bin and had a cool cover. I only learned later that it was bright yellow due to the shrink wrap cello. Never heard a word about them or saw a single video in my American suburb, but I wore this record out.

Back in the day. Living in the SF Bay Area. Steve Masters was rocking the Chameleons on LIVE 105 really hard! There was a time when he was playing "Swamp Thing" or "Tears" almost every other hour. I remember because I was always listening to his cool show and man, that guy had awesome taste in modern rock!
I saw these guys on my 16th birthday in Washington DC, The Mighty Lemon Drops were the opening act, what a fantastic show. Great great band. Up the Down Escalator is one of the few albums from the 80s that I still listen to.

I had never heard of the genre "overcoat band" before, but I like it! The term reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen ('cuz I remember a photo of Ian et al., in overcoats).
Love The Chameleons... Even at the age of 38, I never tire of dancing to them when the DJ plays their songs - mostly at Slimes, sometimes at other places in the London catchment.
I’m stunned that I just now discovered this band. I’ve gravitated to this sound for as long as I can remember and I have the Chameleons to thank for it. Epic! 💪

Bought Script of the Bridge in Good Vibrations Belfast 2nd hand back in '84 because the artwork was great, what a gamble. Have all the albums on vinyl and cd. Turned 59 today and still rate this band as one of the greatest ever. Linn/Naim system.💪

awsome! I saw them in 1982 on a snowy evenning in Hamburg/Germany. It was magic. I was encanted right away. Its like someone is looking in my soul and sings about it. love this band and its an allfavour.
Wow...I thought Script of the Bridge was and is EXCELLENT ....and I didn't discover it til like 2015 ish...well into my 50s...fantastic band I would of loved them back in my 20s if I'd heard them ❤️
