Its just awesome what IMSA is doing. Bravo to Doonan and IMSA, the teams, sponsors and manufacturers. psst keep doing what you are doing. this is the future.
It's not a Corvette though. The engine is in the back, and it's a flatplane V8. The only thing that makes it a 'Corvette' is the badge, which is meaningless if the rest of the car isn't the Corvette formula. They should have called it something else if they wanted to make a mid engine Ferrari knockoff.
Pretty sick to see Fred Vervisch and Christopher Mies come to Ford. It's going to be an exciting year for IMSA for sure. Good luck to all teams and drivers. Forever Racing 🏁
I couldn't see that well into the wheel hub of Corvette Z06 GT3R. What kind of front suspension is that? Looks kind of like push rod type on a prototype.
Wow, I think I just listened to Marshall Pruet for 7:42 before he said "fahlks". Must be some kind of record. 😂 Can't wait to see the GTD field this year!
@@imsaofficial I already asked this on the garage part 2 video but nobody responded to this question I had is the full race replays going to be posted on your UA-cam channel and if so when can these be available to the fans
@@jaydenray2803I think the McLaren 720S and new Mustang will do extremely well though. Just by looking at the C8.R's history with IMSA Championships in 2020 and 2021, and WEC Championship and Le Mans in 2023, I think the Z06 GT3.R will continue the domination.
Well they have a very strong and determined team that seem to be able to pull things out of air. I know it’s pipe-dream but I’d love to hear a Lexus rumble out a few more wins this year
It would be great and I think beneficial to new fans that someone show what a GT3 cars is and how it differs from a stock road car. Perhaps start with the stock road car and sequentially show the changes that make it the GT3 race car. Also relate the changes to the GT3 rules.
On UA-cam Ford Performance shows exactly this, with a series on the development of the Mustang GT3, 4 episodes so far, with the 5th episode being released after the Daytona race.
I know that, but why would a Mclaren race engine break down when they have competed in numerous 24hr endurance events. Ironically I dont know the last time a LS engine powered racecar was in 24hr events, the C6.R maybe? 2 generations ago.@@elijahprasad7884
GT3 is gonna be epic this year!
It's going to be an incredible and exciting new season!!!
Always great time to listen to both John Doonan and Marshal Pruett! I hope IMSA will get even bigger and stronger than last year.

It’s the most wonderful time of the YEAR!!!!! 🚗💨
I enjoy listening to John talk race cars

The real clown take is believing that thing is a Corvette when it just isn't.

Let´s go 24h Daytona.
It's nice that it's finally starting again. Greetings from Germany 😉
GTD is my favorite class, so I am really looking forward to this season. So many great looking cars! Thanks for the inside look!

Why does it feel like the Corvettes have won before the season even started???
Because you underestimate anything other than your favorite brands.

The Mustangs breaks are too small.
How does a McLaren expect to run for 24 hours do they have a LS in it???? that’s gonna be very expensive attrition
what do you mean? its a proven race chassis.

yeah. and they have a couple running in the world endurance championship too. Someone has some $ to burn. haha
