The thing on the tree is probably a geocache. In that metal container is probably a paper to log your name onto. I have been hunting them a bit. Usually they are better hidden so you have to search more.. can be a night cache if there was reflectors there somehow… and the small things in the plastic bag is probably for trading. You take an item and put one of your item there. Anyway. Nice setup for a saw and a hatchet. What a great job to dream that pouch up my friend. Happy new year my friend.
Ah, makes sense to me! I remember now years ago you telling me about geocaches. That lid was corroded shut so I don't know what is inside. Thanks for watching and a happy new year to you too my friend!
It's fun watching you get so tickled when your project works! When you were in your gear room it looked like you were in an outdoors store. Your creativity inspires me.
Cool combo pouch, Dave! Looks like you ran across an old geocaching site out there in the woods. Glad you put it back in case there are any people still doing that anymore. It used to be pretty popular, and it gets people off the couch and into some really amazing places, so it's good to leave those just as you found them. Cheers, buddy!
Well done, Dave! ingenious as ever. I bet every Bush crafter and survivalist on the planet would love digging thru your gear room / man cave. You have found the solution to problems the others have not realized they have. You have inspired me into taking up sewing. Just making simple bags and stuff sacks so far. Also repaired my blue jeans and modified my T-shirts. But I am happy with it so far. Uco makes I simple candle lantern, but they also make a candle heater called the candelier. Something simple like that should be able to heat the Frankinshelter, just do not forget some ventilation.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Man I have so much stuff in that gear room even I'm surprised at things I come across in there. Lol. It's unreal how useful sewing is to an outdoors person. I haven't heard of that candiler, I'll look that up. Take care and thanks for watching my friend
I think that little match case you found is probably a "geo chache". When you find one, you take something from the pouch and leave something for the next guy. 😁👍
One of the reasons that I like this channel and you is this... Most channels are pushing the best most expensive gear that is on the market... For the normal person who lives paycheck to paycheck and can not afford that expensive name brand gadgets and gear.... there is you... And your common sense Common man way to achieve the same thing and cheaper for the regular people.... Thank you... Keep it up.
You are always so good about thinking things through! Thanks for mentioning having the zipper and hatchet head in the down position. You have made a VERY NICE pouch!
You looked extremely cool, walking around in the mud & water with that on ! I hope one of these days you come up with something that every outdoors man will need, and you make a fortune ! Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out.
I love the "El-Cheapo" series and when Mr RBM! brings out the sewing-machine, I know we are in for a treat! Super-nice! As a side note, watching his sewing is what made me begin to sew things myself after a looong hiatus. Thanks! :D
Perfect! Custom for sure! You truly are the Master of piggyback gear technology Dave! I love all your space saving, and practical inventions. Thanks so much for sharing!
Outstanding. The one I liked was your little coffee bean pouch. But the trick with using the plastic to protect the pouches from the blades is pure genius. This was just outstanding.
My mom gave me her heavy duty sewing machine a few years ago because I always loved to sew and my sisters didn't. I make leather sheaths and pouches and the darn thing sews right through leather like butter, I love using it. I loved walking and exploring areas just like what your in when I lived in Macon, Georgia years ago. I live in North Texas now and no swamps to walk in. Great job on the pouch. Works really great.
Sounds good to me! I bought a brand new Single 4423 heavy duty and I was happy with it. I stumbled onto a 1970s Singer at an estate sale and couldn't turn it down for the price. Man what a beast of a machine! It sews through 7 layers of denim. Macon has nicer swamps than I have here. Take care and thanks for watching Kelly
Great project Dave! Three years ago, just before my 65th birthday, my older sister gave me an old singer sewing machine and taught me how to use it. I was forever hunting for someone to fix stuff for me. Anyway, real bushcrafters make their own stuff. Gotta get some of those clips. #1/10,000
Thanks Mark! I'm glad you liked it. Very cool you got a machine and know how to use it. It's incredible how much gear can be made. Take care and thanks for watching brother
It's amazing to see how a idea and items you have come together to make a piece of gear that looks great and functions like it should. Look forward to seeing what videos this year brings ! Like the Bucee's hat . Lol that place is awesome 👌
Thanks Kenny! I'm glad you liked it. I love making gear but love it even more when it actually looks good! Buc-ee's is such a cool place. Take care and thanks for watching brother
That thing hanging on the tree looks like a _geocache_ to me. I sometimes watch people's videos of hunting _geocache._ I want to get into doing that myself.
A geocache is some form of containment with something in it which is marked on a map/gps for people to go hunting for, using clues given by whoever placed it. Some geocache will have a little not pad and pen/pencil to sign your name and date as one of the people who found it. there are websites and Facebook groups to get into it and get the info on them (location/clues).
I'm quite impressed! Well done on the case. I laughed a bit at the discovery in the swamp. As an outdoorsman, your first reaction was, "Cool. A match case!" As a cop my first reaction was, "Cool. A meth container!" lol
Love me a DIY project,; gear related-even more so! Could it be that what you found hanging from the tree was a geocache? Happy new year to you Dave and to all of your subscribers.
One of my favorite channels, always a treat to see what "Dave" has come up with next. And unlike most of the other garbage on line , something you can watch with your kids / grandkids and not have to edit most of it out !! Cheers to you my friend . Guy Speight
Drop me off naked in that swamp but please don't never drop me off at chunky cheese!! Excellent build Brother Dave! I think you have a winner there. Thumbs up ~John
it's nice to see that not every has to be store bought you can make something and have it work just fine and some times even better love to watch your R & D and using your hands and mind to make what you need
Great project pouch. Great video. It's so refreshing to see someone make something built to fit ... rather than buy something from China or some were that almost fit's there needs. That's why i love the channel .. Your always making something. It's good to see there are still some independent thinkers left that rather make something they need instead of going strait to Amazon . Keep up the good work!! Till the next one you stay safe and stay well.
Just what I needed to watch to get me motivated on sewing. Seems like a great skill to have. You’re patience and initiative are so inspiring. I and so many viewers can see the fulfillment/achievement you get through your projects. Thanks again for another great video. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Dave, I hadda laugh & comment over the little "tree decoration" that you found on your shakedown hike. Having spent MANY hours hiking and kayaking around in Arkansas' flooded woods, mostly chasing ducks, I've experienced both sides of "that coin." I've heard tales, even of lost and found shotguns, waders and hunting coats, as well as spent HOURS searching fot such items lost by friends!! I'm not sure I'd been able to leave such a thing behind, considering the obvious passage of time since the original owner hung it up to "prevent loss...!!!" 😂
Have a wonderful 2022,just returned from a 3 night stay in the woods (Grampians Australia)a total washout ,it bucketed down, but lots of fun. When the forest whispers to u its magical!
Absolutely great idea as always, have those Wheels spinning. love that Buc-ee's hat ! I'm from Texas but I live in Tennessee now but everytime I go home I stop by Buc-ee's and load up on dried sausage. that is a snack Paradise! Thanks for your videos love them all.
Excellent project! Thank you for sharing! A bow saw, even when bought at a hardware store, is amazingly inexpensive, but sadly a bit bulky. That's why folding bow saws like the the Spring Creek and the Agawa Canyon are so popular .. but also 4x more expensive where I live. Together with a decent hatchet or small axe and a carrying jig, you're looking at > 250$, So, once again, thanks for sharing!
Been missing on "El Cheapo" series for a while! I'd rather build/taylor something that fits my stuff than buy stuff that's either larger or less functional. I have a few pairs of cargo pants that will get the legs repurposed as carying bags for various kits soon enough. El Cheapo to the rescue!
Sounds good to me Dan! I absolutely love making gear to fit my needs. Store bought stuff is too high and sometimes junk. Take care and thanks for watching
Sitting here watching weather channal 1/16 I can see your area is getting a real good taste of the weather we get here in Maine. You are one person, I am confident, is prepared but here's hoping you and yours are safe.
Great video Dave, loved every minute of it especially the construction of the saw/hatchet pouch. You have got me to thinking there's several pouches I need to put together. Thanks.
Hi. Need to get me a sewing machine. Watching all the thing you do is so cool. And starting to keep all those plastics. Thanks for all the useful tips. Have a great year!
David, you always come up with great new ideas for useful additions to your equipment. Thanks for showing the details. I wish you a great 2022. Let's enjoy life. Greetings, Michael
Making your own gear is definitely fun! I made a sheath for a tomahawk, had the tomahawk sitting on a log. Black blade, black leather sheath, nighttime, sitting by the fire. My friend came over and was going to sit on the log. He picks up the tomahawk and slams it down into another piece, not realizing the sheath was on it! Cut straight through the kevlar thread I'd hand-sewn it with. That stuff ain't cheap! LOL. So I stitched it back, good as new. Good combo to carry, always a great video!
Thank you for posting this. That was an awesome find in the "swamp". It would have been cool to see whet was in the match case. You have the creative mind of the inventor. There must be dozens of things going through your mind at any given time. Your have the skills and talent to convert a thought to reality. Having the foresight to do things in the proper order saves the frustration of either redoing a project or cutting it apart multiple times. I have tremendous respect for you.
Usually in the match case is a email or contact info to report the geocache find to . . I stumbled upon one at a local park checked it out to find a small wood carving in it for the intended geo cache searcher that found it ,, I returned everything just as I found it and continued on my way .. it’s something that was popular a few hrs ago ,, sort of a hide and seek game ,,
You are very welcome Mark and I'm glad you liked it! Man my mind is constantly spinning thinning of things to create. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching brother
Thanks for the sewing project ☺️ also those items on the tree looks like those trinkets used for people who go on..., can't remember what it's called, but you go on an expedition with clues and when you find the spot you take a piece and leave something for the next person to take. Anyway, enjoyed your video. Have a great New Year ❣️
Maybe the match case and plastic pouch was a geocache. The bag you made worked great. You always seem to have exactly what you need. Whenever the wife goes on a cleaning spree all the stuff like you used in your project disappears here lol. I really like the muck boots. I've never seen any with a since top. Thanks for sharing. God bless and stay safe.
Probably was a Geocache. I was very happy with how the pouch turned out. I keep boxes and boxes of fabrics, plastic and webbing and buckles. These boots were a whole new design for me! Thanks for watching and may God bless you too Rich
Awesome video as always Dave!!! I really love the tutorials on making bags and sheaths . You are such a great craftsman Dave!!! Take care and stay safe my friend!!!!
Gallon milk jug plastic and the wife's best clothing iron and you can create many knife holders and the edge protectors you need. Practice with the heat settings to "glue" or roll the edges. Get your own iron so the Mrs. doesn't make you a permanent camper...:) I collect Goodwill bags and luggage just for the HD zippers I need. I have such a collection!
I'll tell you something David. You should make a line of Elcheapo products. I'm sure they would be a hit. Love it & keep that humor. Bc no matter how many times you ask us can you see that, we're never going to answer you... hahaha...... Have a good day, God bless, Chris from Missouri
Lol, that is a funny habit asking if you can see something. I guess in my mind y'all really are here with me! I'd love to have an El Cheapo line of gear. Take care and thanks for watching and may God bless you too Chris
I found one of those Geo caches in AZ by accident while prospecting a couple years ago. It was a small bottle about the size of your fist. There was a piece of paper in it that asked you to sign and date. It also ask you to take something and leave something along with a website you can go to and get grid coordinates to find more treasures world wide.
Awesome project, i cant sew but my wife is really good, am designing a frame pouch for my bike to hold axe and other bits inside main triangular section of my bike. One thought I had which you might like is on the inside of your pouch in the middle between the blade and handle you could have a sleeve or two to stuff some tinder and a fire kit and knife in - great work fella as always
Thanks Keith, I'm glad you liked it. Man your bike pouch sounds great! I thought about pockets inside my pouch but decided to just leave it simple. Thanks for watching brother
Uncle Dave, that is about the COOLEST THING, I have ever seen!!! Don’t ya just love it when a plan comes together 👍 And as to that moss covered thing hanging from the tree 😐?? At first I thought maybe it was a little capsule of a bit of a persons cremations, you know when there’s a person who just loves being out in that area, and when the family cremates him they put a little part of out where he loved the best! But then the little pouch of spider toys?? I thought I bet you it’s one of those Geocaching, things! Yeah I didn’t know what that was till I looked it up, You’ll have to look it up to see about it, but basically people all over the World do this GPS treasure hunt!! Great video!!!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it that much! Oh I absolutely love it when an idea works out! Yep, that's probably a Geocache. Thanks for watching my friend
Nice little hatchet IMO. Though I am not a laplander fan , I was shocked how quick that Bacho blade went thru that log . Nice pouch ! Be safe out there folks ... Gubs
I think the "Go Spiders" find was somebody's old geocache site. Pretty cool little find though. Love the pouch! you put a lot of thought into it, and did a great job of explaining too. I enjoy making a lot of my own stuff too. It's quite a bit of the fun. Enjoyed Dave!
I'm pretty sure it's a geocache. A little reward for tramping through the swamp. Very nice saw/hatchet combo pouch. I'm getting into sewing back packs and pouches myself. Looking at your pouch I can see a couple things I would change or add. I'd add a couple eyelets to the bottom of that ax pouch for drainage and do away with the top flap and use that horizontal web with a couple of buckles to hold the handle still. I'm looking forward to some great new Reallybig adventures in the year to come. Thanks for posting
Great job on the Bow Saw/Hatchet Pouch Dave! That's great that you made it to fit on the Alice pack, awesome. I have an Agawa Canyon Boreal 21 folding bow saw which is lightweight and folds down to a straight piece which isn''t very wide. They also make a pouch with a shoulder sling that I got for it. They now have a Boreal 24 that has a 24" blade. Great saws, but more expensive than your bargain bin one. Wish we had one of those Amazon stores here in Michigan. That's the 2nd time I've heard of that type of store. A UA-cam channel from Missouri mentioned one also. Happy new year buddy! 👍🪚🪓
Thanks Jeff, I'm glad you liked it. Those folding saws are fantastic but, I'm a cheapskate. Lol. Those Amazon stores are all over Georgia and Alabama. Thanks for watching and a happy new year to you!
"El cheapo, homemade", better then anything you can buy made in the last two decades that isn't a cottage vendor. It's kinda funny, as kids we had less then 10 dollars in the gear that we went into the woods with. Maybe a christmas or hand me down knife. I really like my silky, opinel saw, and hatchet combo, now though. I do have a brand new bahco blade for a crafted bucksaw/bowsaw. I have a bunch of heavy canvas I've been waxing. Bought a bunch of that and ripstop camo when Joann closed. Nice projects though, Dave. I do love my muck boots pretty sturdy, I can wear em riding on the 4 wheeler all day. At work running underground power all day. Out here on the farm during rainy, wet, winters all day. TC and ATB, Cris.
You Sir are a renaissance man, a visionary finding answers to problems we didnt even know were out there. Able to create , fabricate in wood, metal, fabric and cordage. Thanks for great way to sign off a Friday night! Counting the weeks till we can hit the outdoors , here in the Great White North.
The Red Green off Bushcraft, without the failures. We there was the hot tent🔥. GFA was relieved you had that under control! (Just kidding, that looked scary). The machinist/craftsman in you shows in your projects. Good thing you left that stuff, you don't want your windows opening in the middle of the night. Thanks for another great video.
I have absolutely nothing against swanky gear, but if we were limited to expensive kit then a good many folks of modest means (ME) would not be able to enjoy the fun of the woods. So thank you Dave for featuring bargain options and homemade gear. Happy New Year to you and Nick!
Thanks for sharing. As ghetto as it may seem... For a bit more rugged bag(s), Scrounge leather / pleather sections of sofa from curbside. FYI On cases / pouches that may require more robust ruggedness... Take two pieces glue & press together until dries turns out fairly well. Try it & let us know what your opinion of how it works for you.
I'm sure someone already pointed it out but that match case on the tree was probably a geocache. The case holds a log that people sign when they find it. Love the case. I'd love to make one with molle straps for my double bit marbles hatchet. Great video bud.
Praise the Lord....y'all have a Buc-ees now. Buc-ees Nuggets...we call them Buc-ees Crack. the item you found is a GEOCACHE. Very awesome build on the pouch Dave. Very well refined. For a blade protector some 3/4' black poly irrigation hose, sold at lowes, split, straightened, and flattened with a heat gun would be a nice touch although yours is nice in that it stays in the pouch and the blade slips right in....nice.
If I may suggest: Before putting the backpack on the tree, put a bag between them. The bag can be used for multiple functions and it doesn't even need to be very big. Just enough to protect your backpack or even cover it from the rain, something like a curtain. I use it, but I put the backpack on the floor (with plastic underneath) during the hiking stops, or inside the tent, tarp, at night. Good project. Copy it with some extras...
Happy New Year to you and Nick! You never cease to amaze me Dave! I bet you have a hard time shutting off your brain at night! Loved the pouch for your saw and ax. Thanks for showing us the mechanics of it. You inspire me to get my sewing machine humming again! (Sometimes I really envy your snowless, mild winters! It was -22 C here this morning, feeling like -32!)
Thanks Marci and a happy new year to you too! Oh even when I'm physically exhausted my brain is going 90 mph! Get that machine out and thanks for watching!
Sure Do Love The Ideas That You Come Up With, That Right There Will Sure Work Well, Thanks For This Davey ! Hoping You & Nick Have A Swell 2022 From Frosty Canada. ATB T God Bless
great video Dave, I don't think anyone wanted to skip ahead we come here to listen and learn. thanks again.
Fantastic to hear that my friend!

Most agree it's a Geocache
What I was thinking for what that's worth, lol.
It's fun watching you get so tickled when your project works! When you were in your gear room it looked like you were in an outdoors store. Your creativity inspires me.
Brother I dream this stuff up, make it so I'm always happy when it works! Thanks for watching David
You make sewing seem like a skill everybody should be about. Your movies are always informative and very entertaining. Thank you!
Thanks David! Every outdoors person needs to be able to sew, it'll save a fortune in gear and repairs! Thanks for watching my friend

Looks like a geocache site to me too. The moss makes it extraordinary!
@@sovbo101 It's definitely been there for awhile!

I love hatchets as well as bowsaws for camping so this one is a real winner David. Great build on this kit.
Thanks Donnie, I'm glad you liked it. Not much beats a bow saw hatchet combo around camp!

No paper with this one.
Many many videos ago you recommended those clips and I went and purchased them....Great for sewing and so many other things when camping.....👍🏽

Thank you Alan! Man I'd love to invent for a living

If I could roll time backwards , I would like to take home ecc. Dave , that pouch is dang cool ! And a mystery to boot .
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lol, I would have too! I didn't learn how to sew until I was around 45.
Awesome! Motivated me to get out the machine and finally sew some cargo pockets on to my pants and bushwhacking skirts!
Fantastic to hear that!
Another great project Dave, looks awesome 👌 Thanks again Dave and take care 👍🙂

Fantastic to hear that my friend! I definitely love making stuff like this. Take care and thanks for watching
I had no idea what it was at the time but all the commenters are saying it's a Geocache. Oh, I'd love to find some waders or a shotgun!
You actually have given me the idea of making my own sling for my camp axe. Thanks.
Very cool to hear that! I'd love to see it when it's done
Great pouch Dave! Excellent design on your new pouch. It looks great too!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
Have a wonderful 2022,just returned from a 3 night stay in the woods (Grampians Australia)a total washout ,it bucketed down, but lots of fun. When the forest whispers to u its magical!
Thanks Gunter and a happy 22 to you too! I hate rained out trips but its better than being at work!
Excellent Job Dave. Yeah that turned out great. DIY all the way.
Thanks Daniel, I'm glad you liked it brother
between you and Survival Lilly i don't know who is more creative! and thanks for the upload nice way to start a weekend
Lol, who knows? Thanks for watching Shelby and you have a great weekend too!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Buc-ee's has become my favorite place!
Together with a decent hatchet or small axe and a carrying jig, you're looking at > 250$,
So, once again, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Alexander and I'm glad you liked it! Those folding saws are definitely fantastic! Just not El Cheapo. Lol. Thanks for watching brother
Watching U design the pouch/sheath shows your skill in fabrication!....looks great!
Thanks! I think all them years as a machinist and fabricator has helped me envision designs
Unfortunately all we got was a slushy sloppy mess. Hopefully we'll get some real snow soon
Great video Dave, loved every minute of it especially the construction of the saw/hatchet pouch. You have got me to thinking there's several pouches I need to put together. Thanks.
I'm glad you liked it Sharon and that's fantastic to hear! Now get to sewing!
Hey Dave, Just blown away once again (for the thousands time)with your creativity and skill. Love it, just love it.👍👍👍
Thank you Scott!
Hi. Need to get me a sewing machine. Watching all the thing you do is so cool. And starting to keep all those plastics. Thanks for all the useful tips. Have a great year!
Sounds good to me Joe! Man it's unreal how much gear and equipment that can be made with a sewing machine. Thanks for watching brother
David, you always come up with great new ideas for useful additions to your equipment. Thanks for showing the details. I wish you a great 2022. Let's enjoy life. Greetings, Michael
Thanks Michael! I'm glad you liked it brother and a happy 2022 to too!
Ah man! I'm glad you could repair it tho! Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching
There might have been but the lid was so corroded I couldn't get it loose
Looks great, Dave! "You're lookin' at a $3 BEAST!" 😂😂👍👍
Lol, that it is!
I like the way the case came out, you did a great job. 👏 👏👏👏👍 👌
Thanks! I'm very happy with how it turned out
Thanks for the sewing project ☺️ also those items on the tree looks like those trinkets used for people who go on..., can't remember what it's called, but you go on an expedition with clues and when you find the spot you take a piece and leave something for the next person to take. Anyway, enjoyed your video. Have a great New Year ❣️
Just what I was thinking! In the woods, it is orienteering; in town they are scavenger hunts.
You are very welcome and I'm glad you liked it! I think it's a Geocache. Thanks for watching and a happy new year to you too
Love the creativity, especially cheapo!😚
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Wow we love watching you make stuff you are so good at it. And we loved your boots. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thanks Michelle! I actually love making stuff!
I think you found a geocache. Glad you left as found.
Cool work on the pouch! Thanks for a great video of a great idea💡!
Yep, probably was a Geocache. I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for watching
Another really cool project to solve a real problem. Awesome
I'm glad you liked it Mathew!
Awesome video as always Dave!!! I really love the tutorials on making bags and sheaths . You are such a great craftsman Dave!!! Take care and stay safe my friend!!!!
Thanks Troy! I'm glad you liked it brother. I absolutely love making stuff like this
Great project Dave, only thing left would be adding a zipper pull so if you have gloves on you can access your saw. As always thanks for sharing...
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Good idea on the zipper pull. I'll probably add one now!
ha ha finishing up this video today... you saying "wear" in 3 syllables.. true southern gentleman!
Lol! You know my accent well! Thanks for watching Shelby
Dude! Start a gear brand, call it “el cheapo.” I WILL BUY!!! Love your videos. Great content!
Now that's a cool name! I'm glad you liked it my friend
Ah, never tried milk jug material. I definitely will. You and I think alike, I butcher bags for parts from Goodwill too!
I'll tell you something David. You should make a line of Elcheapo products. I'm sure they would be a hit.
Love it & keep that humor. Bc no matter how many times you ask us can you see that, we're never going to answer you... hahaha......
Have a good day, God bless,
Chris from Missouri
Lol, that is a funny habit asking if you can see something. I guess in my mind y'all really are here with me! I'd love to have an El Cheapo line of gear. Take care and thanks for watching and may God bless you too Chris
I found one of those Geo caches in AZ by accident while prospecting a couple years ago. It was a small bottle about the size of your fist. There was a piece of paper in it that asked you to sign and date. It also ask you to take something and leave something along with a website you can go to and get grid coordinates to find more treasures world wide.
Very interesting. There may have been something in that container but it was corroded shut
@@Reallybigmonkey1
I would bet on it
Bravo! Great winter time D.I.Y. project!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
Awesome project, i cant sew but my wife is really good, am designing a frame pouch for my bike to hold axe and other bits inside main triangular section of my bike.
Don’t ya just love it when a plan comes together 👍
And as to that moss covered thing hanging from the tree 😐??
Great project . I too use a sewing machine . Made one heck of a tarp lots of attachment points . thanks for sharing .
Thanks John, I'm glad you liked it. I've done a few tarps myself, those are so much more work! Thanks for watching brother
Nice little hatchet IMO. Though I am not a laplander fan , I was shocked how quick that Bacho blade went thru that log . Nice pouch ! Be safe out there folks ... Gubs
Thanks Gubs, I'm glad you liked it. Man it's unreal how well a brand new Bahco blade saws. Take care and thanks for watching brother
Awesome, I just made a sleeve for my bucksaw. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very cool to hear that Randy!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 , wish we could post pictures here, I would share it with you.
@@rlbranch65 I'm on Instagram if you are, share it there?
I think the "Go Spiders" find was somebody's old geocache site. Pretty cool little find though.
Love the pouch! you put a lot of thought into it, and did a great job of explaining too.
I enjoy making a lot of my own stuff too. It's quite a bit of the fun.
Enjoyed Dave!
Yep, probably was a Geocache. Interesting how mossy it was tho. Making gear is half the fun to me. Take care and thanks for watching Karl!
I agree on the Geocache. Those Spiders are a long way from Richmond!
Yep, probably a Geocache. Maybe no need for them drain holes because if it's raining I'll have a poncho over my entire pack. Thanks for watching Ralph
A long way, this is North Georgia!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 👍
Very well said Cris! Oh I definitely love my muck boots
Very interesting and entertaining videos ,keep them coming
Thanks Mark, I'm glad you liked it
thats a pretty cool design! well thought out !🌲
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Maybe a Hidden Woodsman version in the future?
@@Reallybigmonkey1 that would be cool!
Thanks Tyler, to me making gear is half the fun! Thanks for watching and camp as soon as you can
The Red Green off Bushcraft, without the failures. We there was the hot tent🔥. GFA was relieved you had that under control! (Just kidding, that looked scary). The machinist/craftsman in you shows in your projects. Good thing you left that stuff, you don't want your windows opening in the middle of the night. Thanks for another great video.
Lol, thanks! I always loved the Red Green show. Hopefully no more tent fires in the future. Take care and thanks for watching
I have absolutely nothing against swanky gear, but if we were limited to expensive kit then a good many folks of modest means (ME) would not be able to enjoy the fun of the woods. So thank you Dave for featuring bargain options and homemade gear. Happy New Year to you and Nick!
Very well said Terry! Homemade gear is always better that store bought stuff in many cases. Thanks for watching and a happy new year to you too
Lots of design thought went into that pouch..lol Bow saws are the bomb if you can a comfortable way to transport them Nice build Dave
Absolutely Brother! I'd had thoughts of this design for several months and finally decided to make it. Take care and thanks for watching Chuck
Dave, Awesome job looked cool.. Keep up the good work. We will see you in the Next One..
Thanks Brother! I'm glad you liked it and I'll see ya in the next one
Thanks for sharing.
As ghetto as it may seem...
For a bit more rugged bag(s),
Scrounge leather / pleather
sections of sofa from curbside.
FYI
On cases / pouches that may
require more robust ruggedness...
Take two pieces glue & press
together until dries turns out
fairly well.
Try it & let us know what your
opinion of how it works for you.
I'm glad you liked it and those are good ideas!
There are collapsible bow saws. Thanks for the video Dave! 👍😁 Oh that thing you found, looks like a geo cache.
Yes, I've seen collapsible bow saws but they ain't 3 dollars! Lol. Thanks for watching
@@Reallybigmonkey1 Very true!!
Hi Dave, Great project. I guess my info is filtered by Yt. Thanks for showing the new pouch.
Thanks Josh, I'm glad you liked it. Are some of your comments not showing up here?
Nice work! :) The river swamp area looks like a good place to find some ducks.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Oh man there's ducks all around here.
Excellent as normal mate, looking forward to seeing more of your content in 22. Stay lucky
Thanks John, I'm glad you liked it brother
Like the ax saw pouch Dave! I'm all about diy.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
I'm sure someone already pointed it out but that match case on the tree was probably a geocache. The case holds a log that people sign when they find it.
Love the case. I'd love to make one with molle straps for my double bit marbles hatchet.
Great video bud.
Yep, most say it was a Geocache. Absolutely make you a pouch, it works great! Take care and thanks for watching
Lol, man we love Buc-ee's! I'm glad you liked the pouch. I've used rubber hose before and PVC but I couldn't flatten it. Thanks for watching Wayne
That's a great idea!
