Bobby talks to Jo Dee Messina who comes to us from her home in Georgia. Jo Dee talks about how life has taken her from Boston to Nashville to now settling down in Georgia while still touring the country. She talks about the early days of getting her record deal in Nashville with fellow label mate, Tim McGraw. Jo Dee also reveals the two songs that blocked her from landing No. 1’s songs in the 90’s for two of her signature songs. Jo Dee also talks about how she took a chance on having Rascal Flatts as her opening act back in the day and how it was seeing LeAnn Rimes career blow up so quickly because she was so talented.

My friend and I ran into her at the Battlefield Mall in Springfield Missouri, I think we’re in 8th grade at the time so about 2003 maybe, and we were like the only one who recognized her!!! She was so incredibly kind!! She went into a shoe store and asked to borrow a sharpie so she could sign our shirts for us!!! A moment I will never forget!!
Not a country music fan but a big fan of "My give a damn is busted" and YT led me here. Fantastic person, seems very genuine and a natural talent... definitely happy that she doesn't hide her Christianity - so matter of fact.. much respect. I'm going to check out "Heads Carolina, Tails California". Very impressed.

Love her!! I saw her in concert in Poughkeepsie, NY. Rascal Flatt’s opened up for her. It was the night Dale Earnhardt died. Small venue and she was awesome that night and still is today!!
