    Truly helpful. By choosing sound amplitude instead of frequency you have simplified the process dramatically ! Much appreciated.

    I ask myself if its possible to apply that approach to a photo of a face, 'rigged' with the puppet tool. you think it's possible?

    • @lazerslab
      @lazerslab  2 роки тому

      Absolutely! For that you can just add your pins, and add the expression dorectly to the ‘position’ attribute of your pins- you will probably need to tweak the expression for each pin to achieve a more natural movement, but very easy. Oh, also id recommend splitting head image into s top and bottom so you have space for teeth to show through in the mouth

      @@lazerslab nice, thanks a lot for your reply, i will give it a try and report back. i will use for the upper part of the face(from the nose up) cinema4d content for eye blinking and so on, and for the lower part AE. maybe it will work out. to animate lip sync in cinema4d would be hell of a wortk (i have 50seconds of sound).

      @lazerslab  2 роки тому

      @@pizzakarton468 That sounds like a great way to integrate this method. I also have a tut on here that shows some tricks for bringing 3d elements into AE's 2d workspace (probably a useful thing for stuff such as blinks) It's on my channel called hacking 3d in blender. But anyway the concepts should work for any software and sometimes useful because it allows you to trigger exported 3d footage with sliders and time remapping.

    Sadly this didn't helped me, because I don't find pick whip beside the path in my CC 2018 After Effects so I am lost how to move ahead with this tutorial

    • @lazerslab
      @lazerslab  2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure why the pickwhip isn't there for your version - Might be worth upgrading? Anyway, if you can not solve the issue of pickwhip, you can workaround by doing the following: Open the expressions in your child path (In this example, I am using layers named "Shape Layer 1" and "Shape Layer 2"), and use the expression:
      thisComp.layer("Shape Layer 1").content("Shape 1").content("Path 1").path
      Of course, you will need to rename "Shape Layer 1" to the name of the layer you are parenting to, and so on with the "Shape 1" and "Path 1" names. If you do this, you should be able to parent any shape path to another by hand without the pickwhip tool. Hope that helps and good luck!

      @@lazerslab Ok. I was trying to parent it with the null object and failed attempting it. Let me try the way you have suggested me above. Otherwise I will try to upgrade it. Thank you once again. 👍

    • @lazerslab
      @lazerslab  2 роки тому +1

      @@Naturalismforever You wont be able to parent the path to the null if that's what you were trying to do - you can parent a path to another path. You use the "create nulls from paths" script (located in the window tab at the top) to parent the path to nulls. Then you can parent those paths to other things, in this case, the audio levels. Any of these steps can be done without the pickwhip tool, it just requires that you physically type in the expression (the path - to- audio expression is visible in the video) Hope that helps!

      @@lazerslab Aha ok. Let me try. I did bit research and found that pick wick besides path location is only available after 2020 versions and not available in previous versions. I think it's better to upgrade to 2021 or 2022 version AE. I appreciate for your quick response and thank you so much.
