    I'm currently going through this now. So disheartening to hear her cry. Thank you for the video. I will now work on my diet, because I don't want to give her formula.

      Hi Angelica. First of all, you've got a lovely name, dear. Hang in there, you're not alone. I didn't know what my little one is going through until I realized the crying has changed and that's when I started googling it. I am also keen on breastfeeding which I find very hard now as the baby is unsettled and coughs and cries and it breaks my heart to experience it so many times a day or night. Hang in there, you're doing great

      Things are going well. I still have to make sure she is sitting up after feeding and while sleeping. Her breathing is better, but no throwing up and she dosen't have to take medication.😊

    This video has been very helpful. I have been dairy free for a week and a half now. I have noticed some improvement as she does not "scream cry" as much anymore. I still cant lay her down flat and I can hear her hard swallowing. She also tenses in pain when her reflux is bothering her, which is also called Sandifer's syndrome. It isn't actually a syndrome, just a learned response to the pain that will go away when the reflux goes away. I am going to add your recommended eliminations to my list of things to avoid. I am finding breakfast especially hard because it seems like the only thing I can really have is bacon. What were some of the meals you enjoyed? It sounds like gluten for you was the big one that helped your daughter the most? You said she was completely better after a month, were all of her symptoms gone? Could you lay her flat? We nurse to sleep and not being able to do that has been really hard. I would love to know that this will pass quickly!

    • @KarinaSkye
      @KarinaSkye  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for your comment! The symptoms got better gradually, but if one day I cheated or ate something not knowing all the ingredients, she would fuzz... but after a month she was doing really well... and after 3 or 4 months I started to slowly introduce certain things here and there and see how she reacted... For breakfast, sometimes I would have fruit and maybe a gluten free waffle and sausage or bacon... I know right... it was tough for me without the eggs :-/ but TOTALLY WORTH IT! In just a couple months, she was better and I didn't have to give her any drugs that could potentially cause some unnecessary side effects ...

    Thanks for sharing this. Our baby shows same symptoms.
    In his first week, I noticed that my baby is always arching his back when he stretch and it’s a bit too much of an arc.
    I also noticed that when we put him on his back, it seems like he experience so much pain.
    I researched on reflux and I read symptoms of GERD which what I notice with our baby.
    What I did was, everytime he feeds from his mom, we make sure that he is feeding where his head is higher than his body so that the milk he gets from his mom will go down and will not tend to be spit up. I also make sure to make him burp in between feeds. When he sleeps, we put him in his stroller where we can raise the head part so that he’ll be sleeping on an incline position.
    We haven’t looked at my wife’s diet yet but I read it somewhere else that yeah, mom’s diet is a culprit of the baby’s reflux.
    Thanks for your video, we look more on her diet if it will have posivitive impact on our baby’s condition.

    Thank you for your help, specially the clip of your baby crying. I wasn’t sure if my baby had reflux but that clip helped me see. Did you give your baby vitamin k shot at birth? I was thinking maybe that also had something to do with the reflux

    • @KarinaSkye
      @KarinaSkye  3 роки тому

      I did... it was the only shot I have ever given her entire life... but she had a rough birth and had to stay in the ICU so I considered and decided to give it. Not sure if that had anything to do with this... but if it did, it probably wouldn’t go away so fast, just a couple of days after I completely changed my diet... you never know though... it could have given her some sensitivity... she is almost 3yrs old now and she has no allergies, eat EVERYTHING, has no problem with anything and her development is incredible. She just stopped breastfeeding about 3 months ago after I got pregnant of my second.

    • @whitneya7578
      @whitneya7578 3 роки тому

      Is the vitamin K shot linked to reflux? That was the only shot my baby got at birth. I don’t believe she has true reflux but she does have some discomfort if she isn’t burped properly or laid down too soon after feeding.

    • @yolandagarner2204
      @yolandagarner2204 3 роки тому

      @@whitneya7578 I’m not sure but I avoided dairy and just tried to let him sleep more on his swing and also fed him more upright, that helped. I also noticed when I would nurse him laying down both of us, he would spit up a lot more afterward. I think this only lasted about a month... so glad I didn’t give him any meds. I also bought a Happy Tummi Baby Gas Relief on Amazon and an infant pillow. I tried anything to avoid meds.

    • @KarinaSkye
      @KarinaSkye  5 років тому +2

      K B, thank you for your comment, and I’m glad you I can be helpful. Thankfully I didn’t have to give my daughter any medication and the diet change worked amaaaaaazing! Around 3-4 months I started to slowly re-introduce one thing at a time in my diet and observe. By 5 months I was eating everything normally and the reflux is completely gone. She is now 10 months, still breastfeeding but eating soft foods, she does not cry as much as before. Also see my video about the “Witching Hours”. Babies just tend to cry a lot until around 3-4 months while adapting to life outside the womb... but every case is different. Take your baby to the pediatrician and before making any decisions on medication or not do an extensive research and chose what’s best for your family. 🙏

    • @BB-ry2gp
      @BB-ry2gp 5 років тому +1

      @@KarinaSkye that's very helpful. As first time parents we thought our son's crazy crying was normal but after doing research found that he ticks all the boxes of silent reflux. Like yourself, we are not willing to give up breastfeeding or give him chemical medication so we are going to try the diet change. I'm glad your daughter has overcome her silent reflux and is doing well now. What foods other than the ones you listed did you remove and what did you have as your carbohydrates?

    • @KarinaSkye
      @KarinaSkye  5 років тому +2

      K B I cut all dairy, eggs, soy, gluten, tomatoes and coffee. I ate rice and corn as carbohydrates and stayed away from breads and processed grains. I think I ate potatoes too... I ate lots of nuts, protein, greens, veggies and fruits. It was rough at first but it was short time. She started to get much better, cry less, and nurse better. After a moth completely clean, and noticing she was better, I started to slowly experiment and introduce certain things here and there. But also, as they grow, the sphincter starts to work better and the reflux improves significantly. So for me, was all about minimizing the suffering long enough for her body to develop. I’m grateful I was patient and loving and didn’t have to give her anti acid medication. Their digestive system is very pristine and delicate, the milk is perfect food for them and anything else too early can disrupt this delicate system...
