- TalkTV’s Kevin O'Sullivan and Alex Phillips are furious after the House of Lords spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on health and safety guards in a tiny one-way system.
This comes as Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda deportation plan has been given a fresh beating by peers, amid a continuing stand-off over the controversial policy.
Despite MPs overturning previous changes by the House of Lords, the unelected chamber again pressed demands for revisions to the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill.
The latest Government setbacks mean a continuation of wrangling at Westminster over the proposed law that aims to clear the way to send asylum seekers who cross the Channel in small boats on a one-way flight to Kigali.
Kevin says: "It's an absolute scandal."

Abolish the House of Lords.
Personally I think the house of Lords should be done away with. How about more referendums and let the people decide on legislation. Even if a government changes plans promised in a manifesto (tax, immigration, NHS being the main ones they lie about) the people should have a say on the changes. What I see not only in Britain but in all of Europe right now, is a lack of real democracy. Seriously I can't be the only one who thinks it is madness that 650 mps, in a union of nations of over 67m+ people, push laws and ideologies out of touch with the majority.
Referendums are direct democracy and the way forward.
The traffic people are probably paid #£15-20/HR the rest will go into the pockets of who provides them a private company.
They all need to be arrested for fraud
It should be renamed House of Frauds
Wow.
It’s easy to spend other peoples money.
i'm sure the King of Morocco often invited people back to his "gaffe"!
How money goes to the royal family?
I'll leave this here.
Taxpayers are facing a £7million bill to upgrade the front door to the House of Lords, it was revealed today.
The 'enormous' sum for overhauling the Peers' Entrance - said to be more than triple the initial estimate .
This is for a REPAIR not an upgrade.
I wrote to my MP months ago about this, and got ignored until i pushed her on it.
The response was it was a "matter of security"so no explanation was given.
@@davidbarlow350 upgrade or repair it's an obscene amount of money for a door. Then again i wouldn't expect anything less with the way money is found for politicians/lords etc etc.
Un elected ponces
But once again we put
Up with so its our fault
Tell me what do you suggest🤔🤔
