  • Today I'll be explaining and demonstrating the safest way to put on a halter and lead your horse. We'll cover going forward, stopping, turning, and going in and out of a stall and crossties. Be sure you have supervision the first few times you try to make sure you are following all of the proper steps. Any questions? Comment below! What a sweet boy!!! He could anticipate your movements and was in complete agreement with you! Love it!!!

Good video! You’d think these things would be common sense, but I’ll admit I learned a few things I was doing wrong. The old saying always comes back around, familiarity breeds contempt.

One can always tell when someone does not know how to lead a horse...........when the hand is too close to the underside of the head. Rookie mistake. Does not understand about the basic fundamentals of pressure and release.

I… don’t really agree with that. You shouldn’t keep your hand so close to the horse’s face

@@maryk1071 oh, that’s the thing, if you keep your hand so close you restrict horse’s head movement, make him feel trapped and significantly less comfortable. A horse should follow you on a completely loose line 🐴😊
