It really makes me happy to see big companies really making an effort to produce electric cars, in the scheme of things, in Australia (where we all use 240v) three hours isn't long to charge your car, especially if you intend to just drive to work and home again. Charge it at night. The problem arises when you want to travel a long distance, and your car just simply can't, hence where a small petrol engine might really be useful to boost it along on the freeway. It'd be interesting to see rugged, long lasting and efficient solar tech used on the roofs of electric vehicles to charge them whenever they are in the sun as a bit of a bonus, why don't they also use some sort of turbines in some air intakes on the front the vehicle to reclaim some energy from all that drag?
wow 15 hours to full charge? 3 hours to fast full charge? I watch, Tesla model s only need 1 hours to full fast charge. that was big difference between. no time waste. btw awesome review! thanks a lot!
I'm a Honda fan but this was not the EV I was hoping for. I _just_ drove the Leaf today and as it's the only propose built EV I think that's the one I'll get. Sorry Honda, last year's model? Motor whine? You can do better.
It would be nice to comment on the noise factor compared to internal combustion as well. Also the details behind the different driving modes. The EPA range given it is a 20KWh unit is impressive!
A damn shame that Honda doesn't want to even sell this car. Same story with the 500e and RAV4 EV. 3 years and it's time for the breaker's yard. Sound familiar, guys? But Honda has its FCEVs coming soon, and they get far more CARB ZEV Credits (9 compared to 2 points) for each car they sell or put on lease. Atleast current Fit EV drivers would have other EVs to choose from when the 3 year lease is over. The crowbar sketch was flawless though!
I found this video after doing research on LTO batteries, and seeing that it was used in the Fit EV, which I had no idea existed. I really want to find one to buy. Does anybody know if Honda sold them after their lease game was up? Also, man I miss your reviews Mr Cooley. That crow bar scene was great. Nobody says it how it is quite like you do.
I wonder why they can't put solar panels on the roof of this EV vehicles to add more power and range to it. Probably the oil companies wont be so happy. Haha!
Electric cars are the future but definitely not for me now. I can see myself waiting on the side of the freeway waiting for tow truck to pick me and my car up because I forget to charge during the night.
Well, of course you do. You really think Honda wants people to actually want to buy tons of electric cars? Electric cars last much longer (far less moving parts) with less parts required...that means less parts profit for them and a whole lot less service profit for dealers. Major manufacturers HATE electric cars - they just build 'em so they look green or for CAFE numbers/local by-laws. What they love is hybrids - they have even more parts then a regular gas car, they need at least as much service, they cost more, they probably make more profit on each one and they still make the manufacturer look 'green'. Tesla proved that you can make great EV cars...the big boys just don't want to, imo.
McRocket Just a question, but how is electric cars longer lasting? It may last longer vs newer cars due to newer cars having a higher chance of being unreliable, but what about the long run? Most batteries drain and lose performance once you start using it. My example is that my phone that I got on Black Friday 2012, the battery performs worse now than it does today dying quicker than when I first got it. Cars equivalent to that is drivetrain lost or engine power lost or something similar to that, but you can keep a normal car running longer. Remember, just a question. I'm not trying to be a anti-electric car blah blah blah (I see the benefits and good, but I also see the bad and the bad concerns me a bit. I may be young of age, but I'm too use to gas/petrol powered cars to consider electric cars.), just want to have a... somewhat intelligent conversation.

"This is where you put the crowbar" lol
I was actually concentrating on that spot and I thought there was some sort of touch sensitive area or hidden CD slot.
Then he took the crowbar

Brian Cooley is my favorite car reviewer.

Yam Honda is like the microsoft explorer in that it's still in the 2000's.
Honda need to bring it back! It could of been improved now 2018
Considering that lights and WiFi are parasitic, are the lights LED to minimize drain? And can WiFi be turned off?
that crowbar tho
Please make car reviews a separate channel as I don't care about them but like other cnet
Lol wait...so 7 years and Honda still hasn't increased range or performance? 😂
Would definitely want a used Honda Fit EV on Carmax after the least.
which country did this come out?
I LOVE YOU COOLEY! COOLEY FOR PRESIDENT! (at least Governor of California)
This car is a good buy, but can you find a beginner that has 1 in stock? I haven't been able to find 1 in months!
How is the crash test?
2:15 is the only reason I'm watching this video.
Brian Cooley you're are correct
And here's someone who doesn't understand what "You're" means.
-HiveMind- whats wrong with what he wrote? you are correct makes sense
Zaviex "you're are correct" You're=You+Are
He's essentially saying "you are are correct"
Zaviex He wrote "you're are" = "You are are".
Auto correct error my bad.
Omg man you are wild!! Wildly honest 😂😂
Lol crow bar!
Is he saying Fitty V?
I've never heard of a car that can't be bought interesting. i could do that for 9k
@BryanLitan
Best review ever 😂

"Ev" hmm....
Electric Vtec?
Lease-only explains why nobody sees any of these on the road today.
Why is it called fit in USA and jazz in Europe?
Called the jazz in Australia too! Hahah
Cross market branding, licensing, and import/export laws.
Case in point: the Toyota Echo/ Yaris
There is the funny answer and on e factual one...Im going to ignore the factual :D ;)
For the same reason Canon calls their entry DSLR "Rebel" in the US, xxxD in Europe, and "Kiss" in Japan ("Kiss", really? ouch).
Lmao! pry bar.. xD
Electric cars are the future but definitely not for me now. I can see myself waiting on the side of the freeway waiting for tow truck to pick me and my car up because I forget to charge during the night.
Probably would just need really thick jumper cables
set it to sport and it'll run 9's
wait you can't buy these? you just "rent" them? lol
da honda fit was clearly a smart choice. but now, da smartest choice is clearly da kia soul, hands down !!
is dat right?
g o g e t a l i f e ! ! !
.
(apply cold water to burned area) looooool
lmfao
I prefer a gasoline car. I don't have to recharge the car overnight and I get superior mileage compare to an electric car.
Yeah, I agree. Any diesel or Japanese sedan should be cheaper, more reliable, and great on gas.

McRocket Hence not being allowed to buy this Honda....
McRocket Tor Guy and also hence they only make one EV- this one. Toyota only makes the RAV-4 EV, and Nissan only makes the Leaf.
McRocket

any car can be more ugly than this..
Honda just lost so much respect from me
Brendon Bennett Why?
