    Ask someone who has one about how bad the stereo is. Mine has been basically broken for the entire 18 months I've had the car.

    But $30,000 for 80miles range ...used russian leaf for $6000 seems like a better deal?

    Why is it that every major car manufacturer can't make anything close to a Tesla when Tesla has open sourced all it's patents... the performance, looks and technology is so poor compared to a Tesla.

    • @victory1500
      @victory1500 8 років тому

      And Tesla cars also cost about twice as much (or more) as these cars do - bear that in mind.

    • @rickdeckard9810
      @rickdeckard9810 8 років тому

      D Man That's probably cuz it's twice as good. You get what you pay for.

      And not everyone can afford $60K to $80K for a car either. If electric vehicles are going to become mainstream and "save the planet", they have to be priced so that everyone can afford to buy one. At the very least there has to be models available by the manufacturers to cater to different socioeconomic groups like there are now with gas powered cars. Not everyone can afford a Bentley, so they get a Toyota Corolla instead. Same thing applies with electrics - there needs to be a practical and good quality EV in the $20K price range. Until then, they are catering to a niche market and as the current level of sales show, that market isn't very big.

    9 seconds 0-60 is fast? Compared to what, a Camry?

    • @Mladjasmilic
      @Mladjasmilic 9 років тому +3

      +Kev50027 My gasoline car did 0-100 km/h in 15 seconds , when it was new 15 years ago . But as I do not drive more than 80km/h (50 mph) every day , I find it fast enough . I can't understand why would you need quick car for city and town driving .

    • @0ooTheMAXXoo0
      @0ooTheMAXXoo0 9 років тому +2

      +Kev50027 It is fast for a car that is not sold as a fast car. I find my Chevy Spark to be plenty fast while the reviews point to the speed as its main disadvantage. It was not long ago that 0-60 in 9secs would have been a selling point but I guess expectations are a bit different these days.

    Your review is good but you get that many dislikes because of the weird, noisy and too long intro. You may consider changing that, speaking from the beginning.

    Tesla new compact version that's coming out will blow this Fit away.

    • @toyotaprius79
      @toyotaprius79 10 років тому

      Yeah, that's the Model E, we won't see it until 2017. That's just a small sports sedan. By then, Honda wouldn't be making these any more, almost every Fit EV will finish its lease and Honda will take the car from the owners. By then, Honda would be more happy by meeting CARB mandates with much greater ease by building Hydrogen cars that gain triple or quadruple the amount of ZEV credits from CARB instead of selling EVs.

      Tesla model 3 is the way to go although this would be decent to lease until it comes out

      toyotaprius79 Hydrogen cars are already a bust. There is a reason you can't buy them or know the price. They are not eco friendly as 95% of hydrogen comes from fossil fuels. Hydrogen burns invisible so you will be burnt before you know there is a fire. A whole new infrastructure would be needed to fuel them. Hydrogen is the fossil fuel industries bait and switch.

      +2008calander If you are rich, sure. But there is current electric cars liek Leaf and imiev that after taxes end up $12-15k and 16k-19k. That is a LOT less than wha the Tesla will cost. Real everyday working people have a shot with those ones.

    • @djkenny1202
      @djkenny1202 9 років тому

      +Matthew Chau $$$$$$$$$$. But a imiev with tax incentives and rebates for about 12-15k. Or a Leaf will be about 16k. Lease.. it goes back, too.

      USFanLovesMinHo Model S say's Hi!
      Also they look like that mostly for aerodynamics, make them look too much like "normal cars" and they suffer in mileage.

      Good luck getting into a freeway.

    • @djkenny1202
      @djkenny1202 9 років тому +2

      I drove an imiev.. it drove very zippy. Try out a few electric cars. Perfectly adequate. 9 second 0-60 is not exactly incapable of getting you up to freeway speeds and merging. Plenty. Generally sports cars and sporty sedans are faster than that. Every economy car on the market, many mid size sedans, etc are no faster than this.

    • @0ooTheMAXXoo0
      @0ooTheMAXXoo0 9 років тому +1

      +King Diola That is still faster than what you would want to do in normal traffic. My bottom-of-the-line chevy spark is slower and I never even feel like pushing it to its max. Lots of short and uphill on-ramps to highway speeds here around Chicago and I never have to push my car anywhere close to its limits. 0-60 in 9 secs was a selling point not that long ago...

    • @0ooTheMAXXoo0
      @0ooTheMAXXoo0 9 років тому +1

      +King Diola My "slow" chevy spark has no trouble with short and uphill on-ramps around Chicago. It doesn't get pushed anywhere near its limits and it is slower than this Fit EV. 0-60 in 9 secs would be a selling point not that long ago...
