one of the greatest things about Fringe, besides the story, of course, is its cast. i think the choices that were made were amazing and the actors were perfect.
Great, great cast. Anna is absolutely perfect in her role. The character has this quiet strength and a bit of darkness, while still being so likeable. But Walter... Walter steals the show. For me its one of the greatest character portrayals I have ever seen anywhere.
I love Walter's character too but no doubt hands down. Anna Torv made the show for me. Watching her develop into an even stronger actor and have the ability to do things beyond playing the role of the gorgeous blonde sidekick for a change was very nice for the female audience. We honestly do get tired of Hollywood portraying women in this way as if we're not interesting on our own as people ? I think Anna is incredible aside from being gorgeous, there's a genuine quality she brings to each role she plays that's what separates good actors from great actors. She most definitely has what it takes to go very far, she's a brilliant talent. Loved her in her latest project Newsreader she was over the top ♥️
But Anna Torv had to fight for her salery. That is why she had almost left the show after the first season and why the second season started with this episode where I first thought she had been replaced already.
Joshua Jackson auditioned for the role of Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie which Abrams directed. When Abrams saw the audition he said no to Joshua but then asked him to play Peter in Fringe. So it was in fact Abrams who cast Joshua. Hope this helps with questions
Yes, l recently learned this. Interesting ! I was speaking with a friend last night who is an actor/ comedian. She was asking my thoughts on how to manage disappointment when we try so hard for something we want in life so badly and it doesn't happen. My answer to her was, we sometimes get in our own way, that thing we think we wanted so desperately in the moment had we realized that thing,. We might be missing the next thing that is even better for us ? So try not to be deflated when things do not happen exactly the way you think they should, just keep being diligent in your craft and open to possibilities that could be at the next turn.
I'm almost 60 and grew up watching the classic mad scientists and Walter Bishop is both the most maniacal and lovable one of them all. A true mad-genius, with a softer side.
Anna Torv really does her American accent well. Even in season 5, she took it a step further, with adding the Boston to it, either that, or turned it up a little more. What I mean, is that because of the way she says "daughter" in season 5, you can't even tell she's really Australian.
I would love to see this return. Honestly the cast the show couldn't have been better. The only thing that I think might have been off just a little was the timing. Fringe was years ahead of it's time. I wasn't even aware of it's existence until a year or two ago and I've watched the entire series 3 or 4 times already. The acting was excellent and the level of talent to create and act to a slightly different version of yourself ? To get to see these brilliant people and what they would do with that ? Marvelous ! ♥️
The entire cast was perfect ! I adored her character and the actor who played her. That role was the glue between all of the other relationships really if you think about it. Nina was very much like the mother figure of the story who was there from the beginning to nearly the end and supported everyone eventually when they most needed her. I was especially fond of her too but how can you love this show and not love all of them and what these people did for years of their own lives to create this thing we can go back and watch over again. It's like one of your favorite books. Everytime you read it again you'll glean something different from it. The 2nd time I watched it was the most exciting. There's so much going on you miss things the first time around so you pick up on subtle things you might have missed the first time. I was absolutely in love by the end of the series the first time though. What a phenomenal piece of art ! Bravo 👏
Agreed, so often fan's forget it takes a well written script, a director an entire supporting crew of creative people behind the scenes to make our most loved and even the people who are so talented we don't like who they are in that moment, shine. There are a lot of moving parts to create magic and then you've got the most important part of getting the right people together on screen. That's exactly like your recipe and if the ingredients are off ? You know it. This is most definitely one of my favorite series ever produced and I've grown especially fond of some of these actors I didn't know well before watching Fringe.. I would really love to see a feature 3hr return if the series can't come back ? I have ideas .. perhaps I'll start writing after I finish this other project.
The pain of it still going now, and being a shell of what it used to be, would be so much worse If you mean reruns, than I apologize for misunderstanding.
The core three are just irreplaceable. I can't imagine this show being anywhere near as good if Anna, Josh and Mr Noble wasn't cast as Olivia, Peter and Walter. Edit: Let me revise that, the core FOUR because the late great Lance Reddick shall never be overlooked even by myself. This series was my first introduction to Lance, and he's always been spectacular in every other performance of his I've seen since, especially those Toys Are Me spoofs.
I can't imagine any one else playing these characters! But it would of been great to see Kirk on Lost, that show was awesome, but I am more glad he chose Fringe
actully neither joshua jakson nor peter were suposed to be in the show until last minute. basically, josh went to go try out for Kirk in the new star trek. then jj abrams was like..."you would be good in this other project of mine...." and thus it was.
umm, but didnt kirk acevedo mention at 4:14 that he originally read for peter so obviously the role of peter was meant to be there from the beginning, i would have really wanted to know how joshua jackson came to that role and became a part of fringe cos i love him!
Wait WTF where is Peter? Also i love John Noble he is one of the greatest actors of all time, i love the role of Walter Bishop and am so damn sad that Fringe has ended :( I know it is stupid and silly but i didn't watch the last 6-7 episodes because i don't want the Story to end in my head, i don't want there to be a definitive ending that could be bad or sad. And in my head as long as i don't watch it everything is still good and everyone is alive etc. Now that i think about it it is really stupid but that's how i felt about it all these years. Strange..
You should watch it. There are some mind blowing things in it. If you really like the show, you gonna like the last episodes also. No matter how it ends. Because that's part of the series.
1:31 "A women who comes into the room and has a history behind her eyes"; As with Rcommandation letters this is code: STADS FOR : Is dirt sheap abd cab e´be easily exchanged if necessary
Kirk Acevedo didn't want to fuck with that piece of shit show "LOST", he wants the real deal show. Excellent choice, picking "FRINGE" was the wisest decision! Fan of this guy's work since HBO's "Oz"! Anna, Joshua, John, Jasika & rest of the cast was great choice!
its really not an amazing story, i already said it. and peter was a character that was created near the end of casting, kirk went in for peter but he didnt say when he went in.
I have no words but I gotta say something!! Yes, Thank you for mentioning because his uniqueness made the bookstore parts of the show so much more genuine and extraordinary
This show is so underrated even now in 2023
Everyone of the actors in Fringe nailed their characters perfectly.
one of the greatest things about Fringe, besides the story, of course, is its cast. i think the choices that were made were amazing and the actors were perfect.
They're all quite brilliant in their roles, indeed.
Great, great cast. Anna is absolutely perfect in her role. The character has this quiet strength and a bit of darkness, while still being so likeable. But Walter... Walter steals the show. For me its one of the greatest character portrayals I have ever seen anywhere.
Yes John noble is amazing

your dead on right about torv as olivia could not agree more!@@jordanphillips22
John Noble is outstanding and I think would make a fantastic Doctor who.
No way, he is way above that role. One of the best actors in history right there.
@@MrColinwith1L For sure, but he's done TV roles before. He would be perfect.
John Noble's performance in Fringe was a true masterclass in acting. Take notes younglings!
I like the way casting director described Olivia. And Anna. ‘A woman, who has vulnerability and depth and a history behind her eyes’.
Wow Abrams has a great feeling for casting
Thank god josh didn’t get the role of Captains Kirk. I love Chris Pine in that role lol

I’m rewatching the show again and damn the casting was perfect.

This is the best show ever.
All of them good actors and actresses.
John noble Is a legend
John Noble is so talented, I'm really impressed
He's certainly among the best. He's a professor of the art, in fact.
Yes and it seems he can be true in every of his reoles like in the sereis SLEEPY HOLLOW, ELEMENTARY and in the computer game L.A. NOIR
Fringe is frickin awesome...
One of the best cast shows ever. Up there with Deadwood and Breaking Bad.
Great Cast, Great story line and Wonderful series!!!!!!!!
Casting was perfect for this show. Seeing Lance Reddick in American Horror Story is an even better treat.
I love this show! Iv watched all 5 seasons 3 times over!!!
I love fringe...I have all the seasons on dvd
I know that is not a big thing but Nina Sharpe was one of my favorites. And this gives me more appreciation for everyone who is a part of the cast.
The entire cast was perfect ! I adored her character and the actor who played her. That role was the glue between all of the other relationships really if you think about it. For me the reason Fringe was so good or for that matter any series is you actually care about these characters.
love this cast. they did awesome from the directors to actors

The pain of Fringe being off the air is horrible.
The pain of it still going now, and being a shell of what it used to be, would be so much worse
If you mean reruns, than I apologize for misunderstanding.
EXCELLENT casting!
Best cast hands down. 🙌🏼✨👏🏼

Hey why leave out Astro
@@PRubin-rh4sr I think you mean Aspirin. And yes she's irreplaceable as well.
I miss them so much...
Amazing casting
Walter is the best character ever.
I can't imagine any one else playing these characters! But it would of been great to see Kirk on Lost, that show was awesome, but I am more glad he chose Fringe
I wish Kirk Acevedo was on all seasons, at least through season 4
He is brilliant, I like him❤
Thank you so much for uploading these vids!! I'm obssesed with 'Fringe'..
Anna Torv is amazing. Can't wait to see what her future holds after Fringe.
Really dissapointing that the show is over... This was one of the few interesting mainstream tv shows around
I'm actually happy that the show had a great ending. Rather that than a long runs and a bad ending.
Yes :(
Time for the movie
The character of Olivia Dunham reminds me a little bit of Clarice Starling.
actully neither joshua jakson nor peter were suposed to be in the show until last minute. basically, josh went to go try out for Kirk in the new star trek. then jj abrams was like..."you would be good in this other project of mine...." and thus it was.
John noble is awesome
What about Michael Cerveris? I wanna see Cerveris!
Me too!
Wow,Anna Torv is so beautiful *-*
I was in love with Olivia for couple weeks
No Josh?!?!
Great video!
Does anyone know how Josh was cast? JJ seemed to have identified him as someone they wanted. We know about Anna and John.
He auditioned in Star Trek and JJ rejected him. Then he asked him to audition in Fringe
umm, but didnt kirk acevedo mention at 4:14 that he originally read for peter so obviously the role of peter was meant to be there from the beginning, i would have really wanted to know how joshua jackson came to that role and became a part of fringe cos i love him!
Hey... Where's Joshua?
Exuse me, what about Josh?
This show was a mixture of The X Files meets The Twilight Zone of this period.
many thanx 4 the upload..
отличный сериал!!!
They skipped Gene. 😅 They originally got an Ankole Watusi without knowing it has massive horns. 😅
I could never see Kirk as Peter
I mis all of you

Kirk as Peter? mm dont think so...
They should've let Charlie Francis stay.
I wanna hang out with JJ Abrams.

Holy shit he didn't go to the lost casting?!??! Haha fail :(((
Always mad; I don’t like him (John Noble).
