      You're welcome! I agree with it being easy but it sometimes still feels like it takes forever!

    Love the shortcuts you use. With a big blanket this saves a lot of time 🙏🏼

    You have saved my life and the lives of everyone living with me. This is brilliant. I suffered over the first envelope border I made and swore to never make another. But the patterns are so compelling, I was hooked (so to speak). Thanks so much.

    I'm so glad to have found your video! I made an enclosed border for a Mosaic crochet scarf, it took FOREVER! I swore I'd never do it again. Your lazy method gives me hope!

    "The right way is just what works" AMEN to that. Thanks for this video I'm doing my first project and love this method it is so much better than the slip stitch. Although, like you said, there is a time and place for that method.

    Ashlee, I love the shortcut. I've looked at the envelope border before and didn't like it. I left fringe on O Canada and it looked great. My friend who lives here in the US but is Canadian and stuck in Michigan loved it. I'm always looking for shortcuts so I jumped on this right away. Much easier than doing the slip stitch method. I think if you made 2dc,ch2,2dc in your corners it would lay flatter. The round look isn't for me. When I make blankets an sc round is 1sc,ch2,1sc, but the taller stitches always get 2. maybe even 3 if we get int dtc or ttc. I really love your designs and I love your simplified ways of doing things. Keep them coming and I'll keep my PayPal account warmed up!

    Hello Ashlee, i like your tutorial. ❤️❤️ For me, I like to work my ends in and weave all my ends every five strands of my ends that way it’s not too messy and it’s clean on both edges. At the end it’s very easy to work on the edges. That’s just me lol.

      I made a sc graphgan last year and it really made me hate weaving in ends 🤣

      @@AshleeBrotzellDesigns Yes I know those ends are annoying and a lot of work to weave. 😃😃

    I found this after looking and trying several different methods for envelope border. I had migrated from 2 row mosaic overlay to using Tunisian because of the ends--but realized I would probably still want an envelope border because in one case was using 3 colors and carrying up the sides, and regardless of how neat, still didn't please me. I come from a background of weaving/dyeing (and originally spinning and dyeing in the wool) at pro level--'retired'--but think mosaic and Tunisian probably appeal to me because of my background of complex weave/ikat style of dyeing/weaving. I tend to be lazy too or enjoy figuring out my own more pragmatic techniques and liked yours (and like your design sense of humor--to me) so then went back and watched a few more videos that are helpful. Thank you for all of these--subbed to your newsletter, am looking at your designs to put together some projects I want to do until I am more knowledgeable. Patterning and colorwork in crochet appealed to this textile nerd from the beginning even though I started knitting when I was spinning--but crochet seems more flexible to me.

    Hello! I saw your tutorial on Pinterest and I've already signed up for your UA-cam channel. i love the mosaic crochet technique but unfortunately i don't understand english. I ask that you subtitle them in Portuguese or Spanish for your Latin followers. I used Google translator to write. kiss from Portugal 🇵🇹!

    Is that a clover hook you using?

    • @AshleeBrotzellDesigns

      It's just a cheap knockoff. I bought a set on amazon. The stitch markers and extras that came with it are junk but the hooks work nice

    Are you doing a front post double crochet on the border stitch then going through the purple loop on the other side?

    Have you ever made letters with this pattern?

    • @AshleeBrotzellDesigns
      @AshleeBrotzellDesigns  Рік тому

      I have not done any designs on envelope borders yet. I do have 2 alphabet series though. One set is on a grid of 41 x 41 (per letter), the other set uses a grid of 81 x 81 (per letter). Good for pillows or joining squares 👍

      Oh no! What kind of changes has youTube done now. 😕 I will look into whether that's something I can fix but I'm honestly not sure if it's a setting on my end or just UA-cam's algorithm.
