Is the arbor slightly bent? Why does it sound like only a small part of the cutter is engaged? I guess on older machines that is just how it is and u have to deal with it. Very cool
Do you make gears for the general public or just for yourself. I'm looking for someone who can either repair or replace a spiral bevel gear for a compact tractor. Unfortunately, the ring gear is no longer on this planet, so I'm trying to figure out what I can do to get one made. Thanks
Create a ratio between the helix of the mill table and the helix required for the job. Then expand the ratio into 3 fractions. 1 of the dividing head and two for the gear train. Dividing head is normally 40/1
The tangent of the helix angle is equal to the pitch circumference over the lead of the tooth or the lead is equal to the pitch circumference over the co tangent of the helix angle
"Dudley's handbook of practical gear design and manufacturing". That's the bible. You can download it from scribd.
That could make a sick ass best too 😂
Gear Cutter- Engage
amazing

It is the backlash of each tooth of the divider.... selfoscillating
Wtf some commenters here banned in google? Why they asking how to use dividing head?
Sir one help helical gear setting calculation sent me sir

@@jamesbedford9672I’m an amateur but how do you calculate helix required for the job? Spiral bevel gear to be exact
