I don’t see Japanese Customs dropping their prices anytime soon.
Both great cars. I love porches but these Nissan's were known as Godzilla here in Australia. Whatever you decide don't go down the 1000 horsepower road. Becomes boring. Nice original car with tasteful mods. Good driver.
@@mrjdmtunerboy.1463 agree. He is mr. factory+. Porsche is already modded and R32 Nismo looks like could be brought back to stock form. I’m not saying that that’s the best, but since they are rare wouldn’t it be nice to have that one close to facrory spec (maybe with those engine improvements) but repainting in different color is making something totally different out of it. Maybe I’m just outgrowing channel demographics.
I think this is one of those to miss I'm afraid. As much as you like the R32, it really isn't worth the money and would not be a good swap. If it was so 'valuable' why haven't they put the time and effort into restoring it and selling on? - That isn't criticism of the shop btw, just food for thought.
100% agree with this assessment. I know that this car will bring a lot of content for the channel but at a high cost. To me this isn’t a good trade financially that has appeal to a limited market. Keep the Porsche!
If Tavarish really wants an R32, I’d say he should look for a non GTR one. Like a GTST type M or something like that. Cost way less money, there’s plenty of them around, and all the GT-R parts can be bolted on with not much modification. There’s a lot of people who have been doing GT-R conversions with non GT-R Skylines for years now, so it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.
Just buy it. Here in Australia, 6 years ago my son bought a barely modified white GT-R33 for AUD28. The undamaged body has been bare metal repainted since and there have been a few minor mech and electrical issues to sort. The car is a revelation to drive despite it being 27 years old it still has the power to shock. Prices here gradually climbed and they now change hands for 100-130k
I didn't know what you were planning to trade for it and I was already a bit iffy about the R32. John Ross (from WatchJRGO) had one and while it is cool to own a JDM import with period mods, it is hard to work on and even harder to enjoy. I want to see more of that Porsche. I can't wait to see it running right and going fast. Please don't let it go that easily.
To me the skyline is my fav JDM car (and one of my ultimate dream cars), so I would love to see you buy and build one, but don`t trade the Porsche for it. In my mind the 911 turbo is about the closest european equivalent to the skylines that I can think of, so it would be interesting to see both cars be built to a similar power and put against each other to see which is the ultimate AWD turbo monster, and maybe also compared against the supra. As for aesthetics, I would personally go for an OEM+ vibe, with maybe an OEM color (midnight purple maybe), and the addition of maybe a front lip and rear diffiser. I would personally also keep the current wheels and wing, though I would look to bring out the wheels just a bit more, and maybe lower it a bit too. As for the interior, I would get rid of all the pod gauges, and instead add a screen to the center console where the gauges currently are... It would declutter the interior, allow for potentially more information at once, and make the car feel that much more inline with the r34 and r35
Yeah I'm leaning that way as well. Can always get one but once these R32s are gone that's it forever. Japan isn't making any new and amazing cars. Not at this level
Dude, I'd take a broken base model GT-R over 2, even 3 Porches. Get it before it skyrockets too. With R34 becoming unobtainium, these are next to rise to 200k, then the R33 will. Besides, this is iconic in multiple ways. It's a true Nismo variant and its the true Godzilla generation. The R32 earned the Godzilla moniker, not the 33 or 34.
5 years ago I had the luck to see an R34 up close. GT-T but still a cool car man. I have heard a qualified comment from a guy who drove R34 and R35 for a while and the later was better in every form. It's definitely not the ultimate sports car. It's just the fast and furious and need for speed that made a bunch of guys in the west fans of these JDM cars.
Got a 200k settlement 4 years ago and spent it all on r34s and one s15. Can't wait to bring them over and sell all of them except the midnight purple one
i think that its important we preserve these JDM gems from the 90's. I'm working on restoring the under appreciated mr2 turbo and i wish more people would find these 30's year old cars and give them the love they deserve. (its more interesting than watching supercar content)
I wouldn't take it honestly. With the R34 coming to US in like 2 years feel like the market is gonna get busy for those cars. My fear is that would make the market for the older GTR to get reduce. Need at lot of work too everywhere. Body work, engine work.
I don’t see the r34’s affecting the r32/33 prices much…The r34 prices are already in the players market, the r32’s are still somewhat affordable for the average enthusiasts, where the 34’s are in the price range that only pretty wealthy people can afford a good one. Also the production numbers for gtr’s r32-43,000 r33-16,000 and the r34-11,000, 34’s were too far into collector status before the United States could even imagine importing legally
@@michaelalden9427 Those production numbers are off. They made ~43k r32s ~16k r33s and ~11k r34s. R34s are still the rarest of the r3x gt-rs but no where near as rare as you say.
i personally love the R32 Skylines so i would go for it, but the other commenters make some great points... i think the bottom line really gets down to whether a trade like what you're considering makes sense or not. do your homework, examine the numbers from every possible angle (even by thinking outside the box) and go with whichever makes the most sense. you got this Freddy!
Exactly this, I was looking at R32s because I love them just a few years ago and very nice shape low mileage ones 100% functioning werent much more than 30k...Maybe not Nismo but thats not worth the extra 70k+ in value imho.
I would say yes, I would love to see the Porsche get back up and running first, but some rare skyline content would be fun too. Also imagine if you restored the FD from car trek and painted it competition yellow and had the skyline with that.
That is nearly a one of a kind car in the US. Definitely, YES! The only other color I think you should consider painting it is black. What a great project that will be.
Honestly - The skyline is actually a great pickup, but I'd make a cash deal rather than trade the Porsche. If you want to fix the Porsche anyway, then you will get FAR more value out of that vehicle when it is sorted out than wha the Skyline is worth. So buy the Skyline cash, fix the Porsche, have you fun with it, sell that and you will be way ahead.
I'm all for it, just make sure you do your due diligence. I would highly recommend having a chat with Tommy before you make any final decisions. Not saying get him to do any work, but at least have a conversation with him about any potential concerns. As far as value based upon paint, I feel like any potential devaluations have taken place the moment it got resprayed. So yeah, bayside blue.
Keep the Porsche and add the R32 to your collection. I love Skylines, but the Porsche has a singular value all it's own. You can finish building both up and see later if you want.
I'd honestly get that R32. They're only going to go up in value eventually unless you go buck wild with mods, which in that case I'd keep as your long-term passion project. Such a great pedigree behind them. Or better yet, wait a little longer and snag a R34 possibly in that ultra-rare Midnight Purple color!
If the trade make sense and you really want it, then go with your gut! Remember used car prices are ging down fast so take that into consideration. You will have great content with whatever decision you make.
Jared is correct! The OEM color is going to be more valuable when you eventually decide to sell the R32. My recommendation would be OEM color with a factory looking livery (stripes placed high on the sides with checkered pattern on one side of the hood) with various sponsor logos placed tastefully on bumpers and fenders. Keeping it to a near factory spec with around 3-400hp is also a good idea for this build.
Speaking as an Aussie who has had these in his counrty since1990, that is a very average condition R32 that will need a ton of cash spent to make it decent in today's crazy environment. Unless you want a $100k GTR I wouldn't bother, but UA-cam channel maths is different so...
If it's a good trade for you go for it! I would want as much info on the Nismo edition stuff as I could get. It seems like it was picked of all the good parts before it was imported which makes sense.
Yeah it’s definitely missing some stuff, for one the Nismo cluster and the center console gauges are gone. I would run the VIN just to be sure it’s a genuine Nismo, and not just a regular R32 with some Nismo bits on it.
Was thinking the same thing and those Nismo parts are damn near impossible to find and to find them in good to great not perfect condition is really really hard
As cool as they are dude I think you might regret it with all the trouble to follow. The R33 would be cool for the sake of being different to everyone else, but with a bad engine from the get go on the 32 I just don't think it's worth a Porsche. Those dials aren't original Nismo ones either. More bartering on the price then maybe 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah dude, if the VIN number matches a factory nismo GTR I would definitely trade the Porsche for it. And then start working to put it back to factory because that's what collectors want. If you're not going to do that then just keep the Porsche.
I love the porche but i would love to see a series on the R32 of restoring it and repainting it and possibly be on the next Car Trek especially if its about desirable JDM Legends this would be an awesome series to watch as an enjoyer of your content
I like the Porsche more than this system but like you do you. It's more rare and it DOES look better. I would say trade it. But I wouldn't be happy trading. I'm nit saying I'd be mad at you, I'm saying if I was in your shoes I'd prefer the Porsche over this car.
Def pick that up! Restore it to mostly original. Build the engine, do bolt ons for the suspension, exhaust etc. Also buy all the original parts and store them for when the prices really go nuts.
Currently restoring a heavily modified 1994 R32 GTR. Make sure to run the VIN number through CarVX as well as GTR-Registry. It appears it has a Tomei cluster and not the Nismo one, the Nismo cluster is white faced with a NISMO logo and goes to 320KMH. The intake Plenum usually has Nismo branding on it as well as a Nismo adjustable Fuel pressure Regulator and upgraded injectors (usually 600CC), the intercooler piping is also usually upgraded as well. This definitely has the Nismo aero kit but the engine bay looks more like a standard RB26 with some choice bolt on mods than a factory Nismo RB26. Definitely a solid project car!

I understand loving the R32. And you're correct the skylines aren't made anymore. I think the trade would be alot more "Fair" if you could get Derek to buy the engine rebuild parts and throw em in the trade.
As a kiwi who owned one R32 GTR and many other skylines. Get the car for a compression inspection check to make sure the cylinders have to same compression. This will be your number one issue. Secondly, the gear box the third gear could be dodgy. Thirdly, check the suspension for faults and lastly check everywhere for rust. These are the most common faults with R32 and R33 GTRs. Sadly, the R32 GTR is not a Nismo version. They Have a Nismo badge by the GTR badge at the rear end. The real ones have a bigger turbo, bigger brakes and better suspension. Nothing to do with mines for interior it should say NISMO. I think you should walk away it looks very shady. But for As is. 0ffer at 35k then don't go higher then 45k
It's just going to keep going up in value, man. It's an iconic car. Personally I was hoping you'd get the R33, since that's my dream car. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one, but some day, I'm gonna get a GT-ST and dress it up nice.
From one Jersey boy to the next get that thing 😂 You know it comes from a credible source and a great mechanic and you alone are going to wrench every day on it and make it your own so I say get it
As long as you take the ecu so you are able to tune it ; you can make 400 safely on easy injectors and you can get a neo head for it and it would be oem+
Freddie, you can't "abandon" your YT channel and then slam out a bunch of B-roll videos and expect to be successful with the channel. You have made some really great vids in the past and honestly find it hard to remain a loyal follower with this stuff....just MHO....
This would make a great series to watch, clean it up and bring it back to life with some tasteful mods, it would be an amazing car. Would it be worth it all in the end? hard to say, seems odd they haven't fixed it themselves if its so valuable being a nismo
You always did your thing Freddy, and look how far you have come by stepping out on your own intuition... from "way back then", working on your car's in your parents garage. ☺️
I'd definitely go for it! Although I think for me Bayside Blue wouldn't fit the build very well. However, I once saw a Nismo R32 at the Nissan HQ in Yokohama that was painted a really awesome, slightly lighter blue that had clearly been repainted from Gun Gray Metallic (the hood was open and the blue tag with the VIN and color code were there), so I don't think repainting would deminish the car's value too much. Maybe take a look at the original R32 colors? There are some pretty nice choices there!
I would keep the Porsche! And just buy the Nissan, like you said in your new video, you have so much money in spare parts with no use to you, just sell those and use that for the Nissan!
I would watch every single episode. Only because we played with Japanese cars in my 20s. And it would be nostalgic for me. Financially tho, it's a bad idea. Perhaps as a museum piece and a tribute to the 90s. But the real daddy would be a Honda NSX
The NSX isnt as rare tho since we got it here in the states too under Acura. Just as awesome though, I agree. But we didn't get any Skyline here previous to the R35 so there's more wow factor and mystique with an R32.
Look in behind strut towers against firewall for rust . It's a common spot where they rust alot . Sellers out of the country normally just paint over it to hide it . Look first
def a worthy build. Owning a porsche myself. Im also in market for an r32. Id say you love it and their def not dropping in price. So many more porsches done. If you do it right, 400hp is easy.
Two ways to know if you are getting ripped a new one on this car. 1) Is the seller Ed Bolian? If the answer is “yes”you are over paying $30,000 to much. If the answer is “no” continue to #2 2) Take out your wallet and look at your drivers license to see if you are Tyler Hoover. If you are Tyler Hoover you are getting royally hosed in a place you don’t want to be hosed. If you are not Tyler Hoover then buy with the confidence that you have at least a 49/51 chance of it being a good deal. It is 49/51 because being in Las Vegas for this video the house always has the odds in their favor GO AND FILM CONTENT MY SON.
Your plan is perfect. The market for it will come back around if you were ever to sell it, and if it doesnt well you have an awesome car in the collection. I say trading it is a win win for you.
There is an old "hot rodder" maxim I think you should apply; it's your money, it will be your car- you get to choose to spend your bucks where YOU want to and after you buy that car, the color/wheels/"extra features" are all decisions with only you as decider. Unless you "share the load". FWIW, I think a compromise could b e had here; the Nismo, well that is a Nismo, so no discussion on that, and it needs new paint, also no discussion; Paint it that out a site blue Porsche has been using! Also, approve 450-500 hp, as long as it still gets decent mileage and the AC can blow you out the window! If you have further questions or doubts, see the rule above! FR PS; But the car- if you, Tavarish, asked yourself about this more than twice, YOU want this car- and you do have at hand both the body guy (Jack!) and the Mechanic (Jared) to "do this right". Undoubtedly, it will be worth more when you finish than what it is now. Can you add, say, $25k to the buy and still sell it clean? If so, quit screwing around and whip that sucker with a check! fr
I would love to see this on the channel. My choise will be same color, 4-500 hp bulletproof and nowadays strumentation Economically will be a bloodbath, but it will be a really cool series
I don't think I would trade the Porsche for it. But I'm also not sure I would straight up buy the Skyline as it definitely needs a lot of work, especially if you want to restore it to a "clean Nismo edition". Tho, I also understand that when you love a car and a good opportunity shows up, it can be worth it, all it depends on is "how much is asked for it and how much will it take to get it to be good". At the end of the day, if you get it, I am sure plenty of us will enjoy the build series and as long as you are happy to have it as well... I see no problems ;)
The Porsche is so interesting and very different that the most common builds we see. The car it’s self is rare but we see builds like this everywhere. The Porsche is anything but common.
As someone who has an R32 yes definitely go for it. But for you, you need to take it to the next level and get a Garage Active dry carbon widebody kit!

I love how Jared the entire time is staring at the mark 3 supra. The man knows what he likes.
Yeah, I mean, the R32 GTR is OK, but can you get the MK3 too??
Got to love a MK3 Supra ❤️😍
Both great cars. I love porches but these Nissan's were known as Godzilla here in Australia. Whatever you decide don't go down the 1000 horsepower road. Becomes boring. Nice original car with tasteful mods. Good driver.
Is there any car Tavarish did stock? I’m afraid it’ll be overdone if ever it’ll be done. Just like Porsche. Untouched last few years gathering dust.
@@Onimalap well but they never want plan making 1000hp he want keep cars work nicely
I have the perfect nickname for Jack! Levi from Ravens Home looks exactly like him and could pass as his son.
When's Hoovie's broken Audi R8 comming into the workshop?
Great content 👍
That is what I am waiting for.m, R8 content.
A million times: "YES!" to getting this car!
Don’t trade the porch! I’ve been waiting to see more on that!
Same here man. Gonna be bummed if he trades.
It's giving me anxiety just thinking about it. Really bad trade.
Screw that Porsche, you can get another one of those easily. How often will you find a Nismo Skyline, even if it needs some love?
Yeah I'm leaning that way as well. Can always get one but once these R32s are gone that's it forever. Japan isn't making any new and amazing cars. Not at this level
I’d be on the r33 in a heartbeat, super jealous you have the opportunity to get it.
A regular R32 GT-R won’t be a $200K car for decades probably. They made over 40K of them and they don’t have the same cult following the 34 has.
The r33 is the most overrated shitbox in the planet
Got a 200k settlement 4 years ago and spent it all on r34s and one s15. Can't wait to bring them over and sell all of them except the midnight purple one
And I'll Probly end up buying a fd an evo 4 and a r32 with the profits
The Skyline R32 and 33 are cool but I have to agree with Jared, "Protect the Supra at any cost". You should get the supra if possible.
@Essentialist yes Tavarish has a Mk3?
@@wer4599 mk4
@@wer4599 Jared have mk3...tavarish have mk4 since 2015
I have mk3!!!! I love that car!!! Get the poopra you know jared will dump millions of hours into just on pride!!!
i think that its important we preserve these JDM gems from the 90's. I'm working on restoring the under appreciated mr2 turbo and i wish more people would find these 30's year old cars and give them the love they deserve. (its more interesting than watching supercar content)
Anyone familiar with R32 can recognise the blacked out shape on the thumbnail😁 well done, keep this gem! Love your videos Tavarish
The thumbnail has an R33 tho. You can see the headlights.
@@samiraperi467 the 32 is parked next to Supra, and the front end of the 33 is much thicker.
I wouldn't take it honestly. With the R34 coming to US in like 2 years feel like the market is gonna get busy for those cars. My fear is that would make the market for the older GTR to get reduce. Need at lot of work too everywhere. Body work, engine work.
the 33 gtr would be the only one i think would decrease in value once the 34s come over, the 32 would only increase because of its legacy
I am going to agree 100%...
@@Zark-Muckerberg just was a simple typo, thanks for catching I’ll edit
i personally love the R32 Skylines so i would go for it, but the other commenters make some great points... i think the bottom line really gets down to whether a trade like what you're considering makes sense or not. do your homework, examine the numbers from every possible angle (even by thinking outside the box) and go with whichever makes the most sense. you got this Freddy!
Yes for the content. No for the trade itself. I love those cars but you said it yourself, that car should be 12k lol
you literally put my thoughts into words!
Ye, thats good idea but I remember that he had that custom crashed racecar 2 rotor. He should swap the engine too.
Just imagine RE-AMEMIYA RX-7 with a GTR Nismo R32 and A powerful Mk4 Supra along with it
He sold the CarTrek RX7 before the season aired remember? We got a sneak peek look at it.
@@tinystar3010 ohh right he sold it for another Fast& Furious Murciealago (spelling mistake probably) replica
With the vr-4 too? Shit would be lovely
The skyline is a sedan, not a pickup.
DO IT! and do it period correct ! that would be cool.. like a time capsule of nostalgia

Normal used cars maybe, not collectibles
The R32 will drop as well but. It will not drop like the Porsche will.
Please keep the Porsche !! This Porsche is amazing and for me more enjoyable to experience !
Gonna have to get accustomed to this midnight uploads Freddy.
I love jacks expertise in the videos please keep him in them
the 33 is perfect. the body style a great mix of 32 and 34. sleek but not too boxy, perfect!
oh boy
help your man out lol
Yes! Get the r32! I wish I could have that opportunity. As for color why not th1 blue. It’s the rarest color for the car and it’s amazing
I do recall well about a year ago your hair was much thinner ... glad it's coming back and keeps is working well for you
Speaking as an Aussie who has had these in his counrty since1990, that is a very average condition R32 that will need a ton of cash spent to make it decent in today's crazy environment. Unless you want a $100k GTR I wouldn't bother, but UA-cam channel maths is different so...
Same. UK here. That's a 30grand car.
Is a trash car wym?
Not a Nismo car
As cool as they are dude I think you might regret it with all the trouble to follow. The R33 would be cool for the sake of being different to everyone else, but with a bad engine from the get go on the 32 I just don't think it's worth a Porsche. Those dials aren't original Nismo ones either. More bartering on the price then maybe 🤷🏼♂️
100 bucks bet that Tavarish will do 1 or 2 videos of the Skyline then store it like the rest of his projects.
In other words. Exhaust then ebay 3m stick on accessories :)
Don't take that personal lol. But it's what everybody does and it makes me sad :(
Do it Tavarish!!! That would make a great series and besides I love the GTR Skylines also!!

Gtsts are getting pretty expensive too but nowhere near gtr money
Ask the Skyline daddy himself, TommyFyeah.
👆
From one Jersey boy to the next get that thing 😂 You know it comes from a credible source and a great mechanic and you alone are going to wrench every day on it and make it your own so I say get it
I say definitely swap for the Skyline! I wanted to see the Porsche build but I think the Skyline would hold better value over time🤔
It's funny how in today's market a 25 year old nissan holds more value than a porsche.
You spelled Beetle wrong
As long as you take the ecu so you are able to tune it ; you can make 400 safely on easy injectors and you can get a neo head for it and it would be oem+
Freddie, you can't "abandon" your YT channel and then slam out a bunch of B-roll videos and expect to be successful with the channel. You have made some really great vids in the past and honestly find it hard to remain a loyal follower with this stuff....just MHO....
Do it bro you're the guy for this car save it and make it a monster like it needs to be
I would have Tommy look that car over and he will have info on dealing with any issues on that car and the cost involved before you trade.
This would make a great series to watch, clean it up and bring it back to life with some tasteful mods, it would be an amazing car. Would it be worth it all in the end? hard to say, seems odd they haven't fixed it themselves if its so valuable being a nismo
Pls keep the Porsche tbh, I would love see/hear it start up
You always did your thing Freddy, and look how far you have come by stepping out on your own intuition... from "way back then", working on your car's in your parents garage. ☺️
The Porsche is exciting but I’d really like to see a Skyline in your garage. I say yes to the Skyline
That’s a gorgeous car, I think it’s a great idea to restore and enjoy it. That would be a car that I would keep forever
Yeah agreed. Bayside Blue doesn't fit an R32, or R33 even. It was an R34 color. For me, I want an R32 in Ruby Red Metallic!
I would keep the Porsche! And just buy the Nissan, like you said in your new video, you have so much money in spare parts with no use to you, just sell those and use that for the Nissan!
Would enjoy watching a series on this car. Restoring the paint, striping back the mods and refreshing the worn out mechanicals 🤩
Can't wait to see you build on this!! 🎉
I'm a huge nitro rc fan.. Awesome to see a Traxxas Tmaxx and Traxxas Revo on that older supra.. Badass!
Two ways to know if you are getting ripped a new one on this car.
1) Is the seller Ed Bolian? If the answer is “yes”you are over paying $30,000 to much. If the answer is “no” continue to #2
2) Take out your wallet and look at your drivers license to see if you are Tyler Hoover. If you are Tyler Hoover you are getting royally hosed in a place you don’t want to be hosed. If you are not Tyler Hoover then buy with the confidence that you have at least a 49/51 chance of it being a good deal.
It is 49/51 because being in Las Vegas for this video the house always has the odds in their favor
GO AND FILM CONTENT MY SON.
FR
PS; But the car- if you, Tavarish, asked yourself about this more than twice, YOU want this car- and you do have at hand both the body guy (Jack!) and the Mechanic (Jared) to "do this right". Undoubtedly, it will be worth more when you finish than what it is now. Can you add, say, $25k to the buy and still sell it clean? If so, quit screwing around and whip that sucker with a check! fr
I don't think it's a good idea fiscally, but god damn I'd love to watch a series on building a clean, nice Nismo R32
A Nissan Skyline R33 GTR 😭
r32 bro
I was hoping to see that blue 996 being rebuild. So much more exiting than a Skyline!
Get the r32, build it properly and keep it. Would love one to put in my garage next to the supra.
I would love to see this on the channel. My choise will be same color, 4-500 hp bulletproof and nowadays strumentation
Economically will be a bloodbath, but it will be a really cool series
DO IT!!! It's definetly your kinda build and it's all about the fun :D
4:48 Jared, don't let Freddie tell you otherwise, it is Zed!
DO IT!! Would LOVE to see you build up one!!!
I would love to see the R32 Build, to see what crazy ideas you end up doing..
very hard to say, i really like the Porsche 911, but the project are always really captivating to stop in and see progress on.
