I'd love to see how this lens performs for car photography/ video. Since at 56mm you'd have to stand pretty far back to get the whole car in the shot. I wonder how the background blur would look.
Try to shoot cars with 70-200, it makes such a big difference. I have used helius 58mm f2 manual lense and it performs really great, sigma is sharpen and with better bokeh, so it should bring you some amazing content.
For non 6500 users, is the lack of OSS worth the extra stop of light? its way easier to miss focus at 1.4 at higher shutter speeds w/o oss, than at 1.8 with lower shutter speeds with oss
Keep in mind that your not getting the f1.4 you thought your getting, because you also have to multiply the aperture. So f1.4 x 1.5 (crop factor) will be f2.1 in equivalent in crop factor. So the Sigma DC lineup would be in f2.1 equivalent.
This crop factor applies to the depth of field but not on the effect F-stop. For example Crop factor 56mm 1.4 produces depth of field/background blur which is equivalent to a 56mm 2.1 full frame lens but the exposure settings will be same as 56mm 1.4 full frame. So the 1.4 in terms of background blur is different but the 1.4 in terms of passing light will be the same for the area of sensor exposed. If we talk about the field of view then it will be about 85mm 1.4 in (for exposure) and 85mm 2.1 (for depth of field) full frame equivalent. So things are really complicated here, while applying 1.5x crop factor the focal length , depth of fiend , f-stop and field of view , all these four factors of a lens is going to compensate each other so you can never achieve the same exact picture.
Sigma 16mm f1.4, Sony 35mm 1.8, and will add the Sigma 56mm F1.4 to my rig. Problem is the 16mm is too big to casually carry so hopefully the 56mm is small like the Canon 50mm f1.4/1.8 Great Quick Review Sid

why is it a bad thing to film at 1.4 with a high shutter speed?
Motion blur
I wonder if it's worth more than twice the price of the Sony 50mm f1.8? I'm on the a6300, so no stabilization!!
Better image quality is far superior!
I will definitely get that lens, thank you for the review 🔥🙌
Thank you for watching!!!
Dang! A Sigma 56mm and 16mm would be a great combo!
Yes is it would!!
*I already have the Sigma 16mm 1,4 and I bought the Sony 50mm 1.8 this weekend 😅 too late for me the 50mm of Sigma*
D’oh!!

This is so smooth and sharp
No kidding. Just buy it. It really is amazing.
Sigma killing it with this one!
Seriously!!!
how much difference in quality from the sony 50mm 1.8, beside the obvious aperture.
Quick fix on the lens flare problem.. Use the lens hood
In your review of the 30mm you mentioned the continuous outofucus having less smooth tracking compared to the sony, is that fixed in this camera? Also looking for a first lens for my 6300 in the mail down to this sigma 30mm or sony 35mm, currently leaning towards the sony35mm because of the autofocus....
I smell a "The Ultimate f1.4 Trifecta Comparison: Which is good for what?" Lol
COMING SOON.....
Glass problem fixed with firmware? or just "I didn't put the lens hood" problem?
LOL
